Al-Baqarah 247: Their Prophet told them “know that Allah has sent to you Taloot as a ruler”. They said, “while we are more worthy of ruling and while he has not been given means of wealth, how is he supposed to be a ruler for us?”. He is a chosen person upon you, and he is superior in knowledge and physically; verily, Allah gives Allah’s bounties to whoever wants from Allah. Verily, Allah is the One who perceives everything and knows everything.

The misinterpretation
their prophet to them; Know that Allah has sent Talut as your ruler, he said. Upon this; How can he become a ruler over us when we are more worthy of the rulership and he has not been given ample opportunities in terms of wealth and wealth? they said. Allah chose him over you and gave him superiority in knowledge and body. “God is all-knowing and all-knowing,” he said.
The right translation
Their Prophet told them “know that Allah has sent to you Taloot as a ruler”.
Explanation
The wrong opening here is that Allah has chosen him over you. The correct meaning of this verse is that he is a chosen one over you. When we make a covenant with Allah (swt) in Elestu bi Rabbikum, our Lord has written our desires and wishes as our destiny. In this case, our Lord knows who is superior to whom, we do not know. And our Lord knows the best person in a people to lead them in the best way and bring them to salvation.
Because we humans evaluate everything in terms of money and material things, we look for wealth in people and even if they are not intelligent, they follow them out of self-interest and end up frustrated. For the salvation of the people, our Lord appointed Talut as their commander. Talut also killed Goliath and brought salvation to his people.
What is said in the video
It's on the next page too. Let that be.
Their prophet told them: know that Allah has sent you as a king — Allah has sent Talut, Talut to you as a king. What does it say? Their prophet told them: know that Allah has sent Talut to you as a king. They did not believe in Talut. Some said: why isn't he from among the rich? Why isn't he from among the wealthy, they said. But those who woke up went off from among them.
Thereupon they said: although we are more worthy of kingship — look, do you see? While he has not been given ample means in wealth and riches, how can he how can he be king over us? Look at the pride, the arrogance.
You have wealth, but they bow to you for your wealth. Not to your person. But if a person, a friend of Allah, tells about Allah, tells the truth, tells of the owner of us all as the truth, to that person, for Allah's sake for Allah's sake. But to your wealth, they bow for your money. What a difference there is between the two. Oh, what a difference. Yes. And we are going a bit further down like this. Although we are more worthy of kingship, while he has not been given ample means in wealth and riches, how can he be king over us, they said. Allah chose him over you, it says. Yet he was one of the chosen.
That is, he was one of those who obey Allah. He loved Allah more, more than you. That is why Allah put the one among you nearest to Allah at your head. He gave him superiority in knowledge and in body. In knowledge, strength in body. In them, faith. The strength of people who have faith, sir, does not easily diminish. Allah encompasses everything and knows everything. Right. Now let us read the correct version here. We went along explaining it anyway; let us read the correct version. Their prophet told them: know that Allah has sent Talut to you as a king, he said. Thereupon they said: although we are more worthy of kingship, while he has not been given ample means in wealth and riches, how can he be king over us?
Now it is as if, once they are given wealth and property, they have supposedly become those close to Allah. Yet they do not know that We test people with wealth, with property, with their lives. He gives you wealth, and to satisfy your ego with that wealth you go around summer houses, you go around with fornication, with interest, round and round you go. Yes. Now, will your wealth and property bring you closer to Allah? He is a chosen person over you. Chosen. What did it say there? He chose him. That is, a fait accompli, whereas 'chosen' means above you, a more superior person. A more meaningful person.
Where does his being chosen come from? The covenant he gave to Allah is firmer, stronger. In that case Allah has made him superior to you in knowledge and in body too.
Allah gives His dominion to whoever among you wills it. So, if you had that superiority, I would have given it to you, He says. In his dominion — well, in your dominion you wanted matter, and you got matter. And he, in his dominion, wanted his Lord, to obey his Lord, and Allah Almighty gave him that. So, to lead you to the truth, Allah Almighty will put people who know the truth like this at your head. Why? Why did Allah Almighty send us into the world? He being free of deficient attributes, to prove what kind of people we are. Well, in that case, while we are in darkness, what will He put at our head?
We are alone in the world. We don't know where we are going. He puts a servant who knows His essence, that is, His prophet, at your head as a scholar. That is the truth. This is why you came into the world. So that you know Allah. You came into the world so as not to ascribe attributes to Allah. You came into the world to be held accountable for the deeds you yourselves bring about. Since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, His own attribute, the deficiencies to send them down upon you in the world, to complete them, He sent you into the world. That is why you came here. So, had you been close to Allah, over me, or over the worlds, sir, or over people, over tribes, as a prophet you would have come.
Just as the Prophet, peace be upon him, came as a mercy to the worlds. Why? He is greater as a person, his faith in Allah greater, his worship greater, his understanding greater; no created being can match his knowledge, the prophets included, can match his knowledge, nor in nearness to Allah Almighty can anyone match him.
Because Allah Almighty created him first and for 78 thousand years held him in worship. Before this world was founded — so imagine what knowledge that is, yes, that is why, surely, it is not 'whom Allah wills' but 'whoever wills', that is, here, within people's own free will, Allah Almighty — whoever over those people is more virtuous, more learned, has more faith, more nearness to Allah and would more make Allah Almighty known to people and tell them about Him, He knows the nearest one and puts him at their head. Yes.
Allah gives His dominion to whoever among you wills it. Yes. Allah encompasses everything, that is, whatever He created, from the atom to the globe, the seven heavens and, surrounded by the Messenger of Allah, He encompasses, that is, grasps everything. And everything is within His awareness. He knows everything. And since He created everything, of course He will know everything. He created it, He will know. Yes.
