Explanation
The misinterpretation
Allah gives wisdom to whom He wills. Whoever is given wisdom, it means that he has been given a lot of goodness. However, those who are wise think and take a lesson.
The right translation
Allah gives wisdom to those who desire from Allah. Whoever was given wisdom has surely been given many benefits. Only those who use their intelligence and who have entered through the gates of divine knowledge will understand this.
Explanation
The wrong place in this verse is this: (Allah gave wisdom to whom He willed). Our Lord created our souls in the realm of Lahut and when He told them that I am your Lord, our souls were divided into three groups. Rightists, leftists and the mukarrebun class.
Our Lord made a covenant with people without interfering with their will. Our Lord has written each person's desire and will as their destiny. In that case, if our Lord gives wisdom to whomever He wills, He would be discriminating between people and our Lord's attribute of justice would be removed.
In the Elestu bi Rabbikum address, according to the closeness of people to our Lord and the love and affection they have for our Lord, our Lord graded people and according to their situation, that is, according to their closeness to our Lord, He gave wisdom to those with a high degree of faith. Or else our Lord did not give wisdom to whomever He willed.
Because these Verses were misinterpreted in this way, people would not be irresponsible in their duties towards the commands of our Lord. People would not be relieved of their responsibilities towards our Lord. If people knew their responsibility towards Allah (swt) and knew that they would be held accountable for everything they did, for what they did to our Lord, then people would be held accountable towards our Lord, the Creator of the worlds, and the current moral corruption would not arise from people's irresponsible behavior towards our Lord.
What is said in the video
Allah gives wisdom to whom He wills. Look, I told you at the very beginning, you know, it came on television, on television a man is talking about wisdom. What does he say now? Allah gives wisdom to whom He wills, he says. Yet He gives it to whoever wills; there is a mistake here. Wisdom — you can't give wisdom to people; who are you to give a person wisdom? Who are you to give a person wisdom? Yes. They've come close; they're explaining wisdom.
Allah gives wisdom to whom He wills, he says. He has made a mistake here, first of all. He gives it to whoever wills. Whoever has been given wisdom has been given much good. Only those with minds reflect and take a lesson, it says. How beautifully it says it. Only those with minds reflect and take a lesson.
Yes. Allah gives wisdom to whoever among you wills it. Whoever has been given wisdom has surely been given much good. Only those who use their minds and enter through the door of that knowledge know this. Ve mâ yezzekkeru illâ ulu'l-elbâb. Yes. only people of understanding reflect and take heed, that through the door of that knowledge know. You will have such knowledge that after that wisdom may be given to you. Yes.
