Explanation
The misinterpretation
Say; Obey Allah and His Messenger. If they turn away, they should know that Allah does not love disbelievers.
The right translation
Say; “Obey Allah and Allah’s Messenger.” If they turn away, certainly, Allah does not like blasphemy.
Explanation
The wrong place in this verse is here: (Allah does not love the disbelievers). When they say that our Lord does not love disbelievers, they are characterizing our Lord. Among the disbelievers there are those who continue to disbelieve and become Muslims. If our Lord did not love the disbelievers, He would not love those who then become Muslims. There are many people among the Muslims who are a stone to the disbelievers. In the end, when people repent, they will receive the mercy of our Lord.
The correct opening of this verse is as follows: He does not love those who continue to disbelieve and those who pass on to the Hereafter as disbelievers. Because in the Hereafter, our Lord will remove His mercy from the disbelievers in the Court of Qubra and no creature will intercede for them.
What is said in the video
Verse 32. Say: Obey Allah and His Messenger. If they turn away, let them know that Allah does not love unbelief, it says. This wrongly read, a wrongly translated verse. What does it say here now? Say: Obey Allah and His Messenger. If they turn away, let them know that Allah does not love the unbelievers. Well, when among the unbelievers there is one who becomes Muslim, if Allah Almighty is going to love that Muslim once he is freed from unbelief, He loves him in his unbelief too. This way an attribute is ascribed to Allah. He didn't know that he would become Muslim. He didn't love him. And a person can't feel love anyway for someone he doesn't love. You, me... have you fitted Allah Almighty, like you and me, into our heads, that you said it like this?
Whereas: Say, obey Allah and His Messenger. If they turn away, let them know that Allah does not love unbelief. Unbelief. Not: He does not love the unbelievers, but: He does not love unbelief. Yes, well, are there no people within Islam who live like unbelievers? Many. But there are also Muslims whose way of life outdoes even the unbelievers, but he says La ilaha illallah Muhammadun Rasulullah, yet is in the state of a disbeliever. How these will depart is not certain either. The last, the last breath. How one will depart is not certain. Allah does not love unbelief. Yes. What can you do? Since He does not love it: if he is a Muslim, if he did not come close to Islam, yet did not give up Islam either, if he lived in a way that outdoes the unbelievers and departed as a Muslim, what will happen?
Hellfire is forbidden to him, yet into Hell He will put him, Allah Almighty will. After his nafs has found peace in Hell, he will come out of Hell. The unbeliever will say to that Muslim in Hell: Weren't you a Muslim, why did you come here? And what will the Muslim say to the unbeliever: You know, I was a Muslim, I never gave up my Islam, but your filth, I fell no short of it. This punishment my Lord has given me is even too little, he will say. Out of His mercy, he will say, He threw me in here. Allah Almighty, hearing these words: O My servant, your nafs has reached perfection there, come out of there, He says. He takes him and sends him to His Paradise.
Yes. Well, the unbeliever sinned too. Come on, you too, like a Muslim, say there: "This was too little for me." You can't say it, because you have denial. You are waiting for the Lord of your imagination, and you think of taking revenge on Allah Almighty, on the One who created you. With that feeling you stay there forever. What do they say? Burning and burning, still burning, they say to Malik: Malik, tell your Lord to lighten this punishment on us a little. They can't say "our Lord", see: "tell your Lord". Yes. Do you see how wrongly it has been translated? Books. Not books, our Holy Quran. If Allah grants it, the Diyanet too now; we already gave them our book, by Allah's grace and generosity.
Allah willing, they will write the correct meanings. Allah willing, if they can manage it. Actually the Diyanet should invite us and together we should write a book. Together. Because among what I have written there are still some that can mean two things. That is, a person might ask: What's wrong with this? They might say it means this too. We haven't written these yet, haven't included them. But very beautiful words can be put in those places. With very beautiful words we would completely free Allah Almighty from ascribed attributes. But unfortunately, we call them, and they don't answer our calls. No hard feelings.
