The misinterpretation

While Zekeriyya was praying at the altar, the angels called out to him: Allah gives you the glad tidings of Yahya as a prophet from the righteous, chaste, and confirming a word from Him.

The right translation

While Zachary was praying in the place of worship, the angels called out to him (saying); “Allah gives you the glad tidings (of a boy by the name) of Yohannan (John). He will confirm a word coming from Allah (Prophet Jesus), become a master to his people and be a salih (righteous) Prophet”.

Explanation

In this verse, although the meaning seems to be the same, it is mixed. The correct opening is: When Zakariyya was standing in prayer at the altar, angels called out to him. Verily, Allah gives you good news with Yahya. He will be a confirmer of a word from Allah (Jesus). He will be a judge of his own soul, a master of his people, a Prophet among the righteous.

Page 54, verse 39. Zechariah, while he stood in prayer in the mihrab, the angels called out to him thus. I am reading the wrong one here: Allah, to you, from His own side, coming from Himself; Allah gives you the good news of John, confirming a word coming from Himself, a master, chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous, it says. Whereas: While Zechariah stood in prayer in the mihrab, the angels called out to him thus: Allah gives you, from Himself, the good news of a child named John. What does it say here? Allah gives you, from Himself, one who will confirm a word, it says, the word. A master, chaste, a prophet from among the righteous, John; He gave this good news, it says. What do we say here?
