Al-Ma'idah 49: Judge over them with what Allah has sent down and do not follow their desires. Be careful that they do not lead you astray from some of the rulings that Allah has sent down to you. If they turn away (from the judgment), know that some of their sins are a calamity upon them. And verily, most people have gone astray.

The misinterpretation

Judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires. Be careful that they do not deviate you from some of the decrees that Allah has revealed to you. If they turn away (from the judgment), know that (with this) Allah only wants to afflict them with some of their sins. Many of the people have already gone astray.

The right translation

Judge over them with what Allah has sent down and do not follow their desires. Be careful that they do not lead you astray from some of the rulings that Allah has sent down to you. If they turn away (from the judgment), know that some of their sins are a calamity upon them. And verily, most people have gone astray.

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: Allah only wants to afflict them with some of their sins. The truth is: Some of their sins are a plague upon them.

Allah (swt) has never created any of His creatures that He should wrong them. Our Lord says that My mercy has exceeded My wrath. My mercy is for everyone in the universe. Would our Lord, who sent the Holy Quran as a guidance, a light and a light for all the worlds, curse these people with His verses? Would it be fitting for the greatness of Allah to say that He wants to punish them for their sins? By making the word of our Lord contradict each other, is not Allah also lying? Who is more unjust than he who fabricates a lie against Allah? He says.

Verse 78 of Surah Al-Imran: A group of the People of the Book twist their tongues while reciting the Book so that you may think that what they recite is from the Book. However, what they read is not from the Book. They say: "This is from Allah" when what they say is not from Allah. They knowingly slander Allah.

In the 94th verse of Surah Al-Imran: So whoever fabricates a lie against Allah after that, they are the wrongdoers.

What is said in the video

Allah will make it known to you. That is, He will make it known, it says. Yes. We come to verse 49. This too is a wrongly rendered verse. Yes.

Judge between them by what Allah has sent down. Judge between them by what Allah has sent down, it says. This is right too. Verse 49 of Surah Al-Ma'idah, I'm reading its wrong parts. Judge between them by what Allah has sent down and do not follow their desires. Of the rulings Allah sent down to you, from some part, their leading you astray, take care that they don't lead you astray. If they turn away from the ruling, if they turn away from the ruling, know that by this Allah only wants to bring some of their sins down upon their heads as a calamity. Allah, Allah! Heaven forbid, I seek Allah's forgiveness.

Heaven forbid, I seek Allah's forgiveness. And many of the people have gone astray anyway, it says. This is right. Whereas Allah does not, sir, bring anyone's sin upon anyone's head as a calamity. What do we say? Let's read this part. Judge between them by what Allah has sent down, and do not follow their desires. Take care that they do not lead you away from some of the rulings Allah has sent down to you. If they turn away from the ruling, know that by this some of their sins are a calamity upon their heads. Theirs. It is not that Allah Almighty brings sin upon their heads as a calamity. A person brings it upon his own head with his own sin.

And many of the people have gone astray anyway, it says. Yes.
