Al-Ma'idah 94: Oh you believers! Allah makes you witnesses against yourselves with (forbidding) a hunting that your hands and spears reach, so that it becomes apparent who (truly) fears Allah. Whoever crosses the boundaries after this, there is a severe punishment for them.

The misinterpretation

O you who believe! Allah will try (by prohibiting it) by hunting that your hands and spears can reach, so that it will be revealed who is afraid of him in secret (in places where no one can see). Whoever exceeds the limit after that, for him there is a painful punishment.

The right translation

Oh you believers! Allah makes you witnesses against yourselves with (forbidding) a hunting that your hands and spears reach, so that it becomes apparent who (truly) fears Allah. Whoever crosses the boundaries after this, there is a severe punishment for them.

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: They have used the word: "He who tries". The correct one is: He makes you witnesses to yourselves. Allah (swt) has no need to test anyone. Our Lord's testing people is an attribute of Our Lord. Our Lord says in the 134th verse of Surah Taha: "If We had destroyed them with a torment before this (the Qur'an), they would surely have said: 'O Lord! If You had sent us a messenger, we would have followed Your Verses before we fell into this humiliation and disgrace).

The meaning of this verse: Our Lord made a covenant with people at Kalu Bela. He knows that people will go to hell and heaven. If He had sent people to heaven and hell, Allah's attribute of being Allah would have been jeopardized. That is why our Lord sent us to the world, a realm where His Essence is invisible. When people are called to account in the Court-i Kübra, no matter what they will ask our Lord, they will have actually committed it in the life of this world and will be cut off from questions. In that case, there is no need for our Lord to test people. They have been sent into the world to make people witness to themselves what kind of human beings they are.

What is said in the video

Verse 94 of Surah Al-Ma'idah has been translated wrongly. O you who believe! Allah, with game hunting within reach of your hands and your spears, by forbidding it, tests you, so that in secret, in places where no one sees, who truly fears Him becomes clear. Whoever after this oversteps the limit, for him there is a painful punishment. So what's wrong here, Hodja? How nicely the man translated it. Isn't it? This is wrong. Wrong, really. Hodja, we didn't understand. Read it again. I am reading it again. O you who believe! Allah, with game hunting within reach of your hands and your spears, by forbidding it, tests you, so that in secret, in places where no one sees, who truly fears Him becomes clear. Now look what it says here.

Now you perhaps may not understand that part, but your former students grasped it long ago. What does it say? "By forbidding it, He tests": Allah tests no one. Let me tell you this. Allah has no need to test. Allah knows what everyone does. Everyone.

Never forget this verse.

There is not a single living being until the Day of Judgement whose deeds We do not know. Not a single leaf moves without Allah's permission. These are verses. These are verses. In this case, whom will Allah test?

Well, Ta-Ha 134, Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134 too is denied by this translation. It denies the verse. This leads to unbelief. What does it say in the verse, in verse 134? Before the Quran, them, it says: had We destroyed them with a punishment before the Quran, that is, even though, before bringing people into the world, when We first made the covenant with them, We knew what they are, had We destroyed them with a punishment, they would have said this, it says: Had You sent us prophets and books, we would not have fallen into this low disgrace. If they were not going to say this, it says, We would not have sent you to this world.

Then why does he say this? Because, since Allah Almighty appeared to people just in human form, he cannot believe that Allah Almighty in human form created him. He waits for the Lord of his own imagination. In this case Allah Almighty gives them one more chance. Now, here is the arena, He says, to the world. A world where His Essence is not seen. A world where His Essence is not seen. Allah Almighty is free from all deficient attributes. Well, here it says "to try you", or it says "to test you". Where is testing here? This word denies the verses. Look, what do we say here? O you who believe! Allah forbids game hunting within reach of your hands and your spears, so that, holding you as witnesses over yourselves, in secret, in places where no one sees, who truly fears Him becomes clear.

Look how beautiful. So that who fears becomes clear. Whoever after this oversteps the limit, for him there is a painful punishment, it says. Yes. They have always ascribed attributes to Allah. Here, the head, the president of the Diyanet, Ali Erbaş Efendi. I said Efendi. I say Efendi, I do not say Bey, look. Among beys there can be tyrants too. But Efendis are seyyids. No tyranny comes from them. Sir, that is why we address people as efendi. What does it say here?

O you who believe!

What does Ali Erbaş Efendi say? For a hundred years the Holy Quran has come down to us full of errors. There are many errors in it. May Allah be pleased with our hodjas. Sir, we gathered. Of our hodjas who contributed to this, he says, may Allah be pleased with our hodjas who contributed; we will write a new Quran, they say, we will write a translation. Yes. We have left our book to the Diyanet.

And they, of course, read this. People of reason. Yes.
