Explanation
The misinterpretation
And to some of their fathers, children, and brothers (We gave them superior virtues), We selected them and guided them to the right path.
The right translation
And some of their fathers, offspring and brothers also were (among the righteous ones). We have shown to them the right path.
Explanation
In this verse, they have opened the verses incorrectly as a continuation of the verses they opened incorrectly in the previous verses. If we briefly answer these Verses in a few sentences, our Lord does not do injustice among His servants, even if they are Prophets. In that case, He will neither bestow superior virtues on anyone among His servants nor guide them to the right path.
A person can attain superior virtues through his own deeds and closeness to our Lord, or he can attain high degrees by following the right path of his own will and fulfilling the commands of our Lord.
What is said in the video
Yes. Verse 87 has been rendered wrongly. From their fathers, their children and their brothers, to some We gave superior qualities, it says; to them We gave superior qualities, it says; Allah Almighty always does this to man as a selection. Whereas from their fathers, that is, coming from their sons, from their fathers, their children and their brothers, to some We gave superior qualities, it says. Now, when Abraham (peace be upon him) said 'make my descendants imams', We do not make wrongdoers imams, says Allah Almighty in the verse. We do not make wrongdoers imams. So when you say 'their lineage', you single them out from their lineage; this time He Himself has singled them out. Whereas, since will lies in man, look what it says: We do not make wrongdoers imams. That is, if he finds Me within his own will, I make him, I make him an imam, He says.
But outside his own will, that is, if by his own will he denies Me, he won't become an imam, He says. Yes.
From their fathers, their generations and their brothers, some were among the righteous, it says. This is the correct one. Some were among the righteous. We showed them the right path too, it says, look. It doesn't say We led them. We showed them the right path. He shows everyone the right path anyway. We showed them the right path too. So He shows it to everyone, to them as well. There is no discrimination.
