Oh you who believe! Bow down, prostrate, worship your Lord and commit deeds of charity so that you will reach salvation.

Tafsir

Allah created man and jinn to worship Him. So people who believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Hereafter and the truth of resurrection after death. Let them bow down and prostrate themselves. They should fulfill the conditions of Islam as they fulfill the conditions of faith. The conditions of Islam are five. They are the declaration of the word of shahada, prayer, fasting, pilgrimage, and giving zakat. The last two, hajj and zakat, are paid. Therefore, believers are only obliged to fulfill them when they reach a certain level. Apart from Hajj and Zakat, Allah addresses all believers, all Muslims, without discrimination. He says, "Do your prayers. In this verse, when he says "bow down and prostrate", he is describing the prayer.

(Worship your Lord) means fulfill the five pillars of Islam. Fast and, if you are able, go on pilgrimage and pay zakat.

(Do good deeds so that you may attain salvation) Allah is the Judge of Judges. All these created beings are the servants of Allah. Allah does not intend these created beings to oppress each other. So, if these people, who are created equal to the creation of Allah (swt), treat His creatures with compassion and mercy, observe the right and law, compete in good deeds, and help Allah's religion, Allah will take such people under His mercy, and these are the ones who will attain salvation.

What is said in the video

Verse 77, Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 77. O you who believe, how beautifully it says. Yâ eyyühellezîne âmenû. Yes.

İrke'û vescudû va'budû rabbeküm vef'alû. Hayra lealleküm tuflihûn. O you who believe, bow down. Bow down, how beautifully it says it. That is, perform the prayer, the prayer. Worship Allah so that you know you have taken your place in Allah's ranks, it says. Show it, it says. Bow down. Prostrate yourselves. Worship your Lord. Do good so that you may attain salvation, it says. Look how beautifully it says it. How beautifully it says it.

If you have no worship, what shall We do with you, says Allah Almighty. Yes. What will He do with us? If we have no worship, on the Day of Judgment, those who go as non-Muslims, all the good deeds they did will go to waste, and He will put them into the eternal world of hell and cut off His mercy from them. That is the "what shall We do with you": into that scrap, that place of torment, that scrapheap He will throw them. Would you want that? Should we go to such a place? So our Lord has such a beautiful word. What does it say? O you who believe, bow down, prostrate yourselves, worship your Lord, do good so that you may attain salvation.

Yes. Allah Almighty created humans and jinn to worship Him. So, people who believe in Allah, the angels, His books, His messengers, the hereafter and that resurrection after death is true should bow and prostrate themselves. Yes. Allah Almighty: I will create such a being that they, by their own will, will know that their Lord created them and will obey Me. That is the summit of the art of creation.

Who in the world makes an invention such that, without programming the robots in that invention, that robot will by its own will put will into it and with that will make judgments? This will never be. This is a trait specific to our Lord, which He created and gave to His servants.

Allah Almighty created humans and jinn to worship Him. So, people who believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the hereafter and that resurrection after death is true should bow and prostrate themselves. Just as they fulfill the conditions of faith, let them fulfill the conditions of Islam too. The conditions of Islam are five: saying the testimony of faith, praying, fasting, going on hajj, giving zakat. The last two, hajj and zakat, require money. Therefore people who have believed, only when they reach a certain level, become bound by these. That is, when their money is at a certain level, when the means to go on hajj arise, then it becomes obligatory for them.

If one has no money, he can neither give zakat nor go on hajj. They are exempt from these obligations. In this case, since Allah Almighty knows their situation, "why did you not go on hajj, why did you not give zakat", He does not ask them. Yes, and why does He make the rich give zakat anyway? So that they meet the needs of such people in need; since Allah is merciful and compassionate toward the servants He created, and very generous and forgiving, He has established zakat. He has also instilled feelings of mercy in His servants, and through this zakat, by having them give their zakat to those in need, He has had them give life to those in need.

Couldn't Allah Almighty give to those in need all at once? Of course He could. In this case, so that everyone in this world, with their own level, according to their own wishes and desires, by their way of life, by judging for truth or falsehood, may prove what kind of person they are, there are differences like this among people.

Therefore people who have believed, only when they reach a certain level, are bound by these. Apart from hajj and zakat, Allah, without distinction, addresses those who believe, all Muslims. Perform the prayer, He commands. In this verse, His saying "bow down, prostrate yourselves" is a description of the prayer. Here it does not say "stand upright". We are standing already. Since He is speaking to us, we are standing. Bow and prostrate. How beautifully it describes the prayer. You are already standing, it says. Accordingly, bow and prostrate too, it says. Prove that you pray. Yes. Worship your Lord. (?) fulfill the five conditions of Islam.

Fast, and if your situation allows, go on hajj and give zakat, He commands. Do good so that you may attain salvation. Allah Almighty is the judge of judges. All these created beings are Allah's servants. Allah does not wish these created beings to do injustice to one another. So, if these humans, created as the noblest of creatures, treat the creatures Allah Almighty created with compassion and mercy, observe rights and law, compete in good deeds, and help Allah's religion, Allah takes such people under His mercy, and these are the ones who attain salvation. May Allah grant all of us such a trait.

Yes, our child Ender says: Hodja, why is this verse not a verse of prostration? From the fourteen verses listed in the sources, I did not see its difference. Moreover, in this verse it directly, in command form, says: prostrate. May Allah be pleased with you, he says. Here, here it does not oblige. Pay attention. It does not oblige. O you who believe! Bow down, prostrate yourselves. Some do, some don't. But when a verse of prostration occurs, it says directly: prostrate. They prostrate directly, it says. There is a difference here. Now, "O you who believe, bow down, prostrate". If here it were (?), as in the prostration verse: when they hear the prostration, when they hear Allah's name, they prostrate, it says.

When they hear Allah's greatness. Here too, exactly, the meaning is (?). Like what? As when He addresses the believer. What does He say to the believer? They cover their heads. They cover their private parts. Around their necks, (?), they wrap the (?) parts. Right? Now with this He describes the believer. Although He describes the believer, He calls them believers. If He had said Islam, Islam here, according to the word in that verse, according to the word Islam, those who uncover their heads would be unbelievers. Since the believer will not uncover the head, will not be uncovered, Allah Almighty, with the believer, gives life to Islam and makes known that when a Muslim uncovers the head they fall into sin but do not leave Islam.

Do not leave Islam. If they leave, that is up to them. His saying they will not leave is, that is, not in the sense that they will surely stay in Islam. That is, being a Muslim, being a Muslim at that moment, and uncovering the head, one is a sinner: that is what it signifies to us. Here it is the same situation. O you who believe! Bow down, prostrate yourselves. Well, if you do, you do. If you don't, you fall into sin. It makes the prayer obligatory for us. Now, although it makes this prayer obligatory, those who don't pray it have not gone out of it, not out of Islam; they become sinners. Sinners. There is such a distinction here.

Now, if we can find a verse of prostration, let's look here. In the verse of prostration the prostration, if we read, if we read one of them, they're all the same anyway. Identical to each other.

Yes, there is one here. Which verse? Probably the 26th verse.

Whereas, other than Allah, the Owner of the great Throne, there is no god, it says. Here it has put the verse of prostration.

In the one before, it says this. Satan has done this, so that to Allah, who brings forth what is hidden in the heavens and on earth, who knows what they hide and what they reveal, they would not prostrate. Now, this... a more clearly written one, if we find it, the prostration will be better. We will understand the difference between the two things there better.

Here it says, verse 15: Only those people believe in Our verses who, now Enver, look how beautifully it says it, only those people believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration without arrogance and glorify their Lord with praise. Now this has become obligatory on everyone who hears me. It has become obligatory. Because this is a verse of prostration. I am reading this again. What does it say? Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration without arrogance and glorify their Lord with praise, it says. Now this is a prostration.

But here it does not say that. O you who believe, bow down, prostrate yourselves. I am telling you. Do it or don't. Like a word from Me to you. But here it says: they prostrate. So, being of them, we will prostrate. If you ask, Hodja, how is the prostration done, let me describe that to you too.

Something is ringing somewhere, but our phone... Where is it ringing? Hatice's phone. (?) Like this, over there let it stay. How will we prostrate? While standing, we turn to the qibla, say Allahu Ekber and go directly into prostration. Three times, five times, whatever: Sübhâne Rabbiye'l-a'lâ, Sübhâne Rabbiye'l-a'lâ, Sübhâne Rabbiye'l-a'lâ; after saying that, we will say Allahu Ekber and Semi'nâ ve eta'nâ gufrâneke Rabbenâ ve ileyke'l-masîr. We will stand up. When standing up, again we stand up directly. Yes. We say Semi'nâ ve eta'nâ gufrâneke Rabbenâ ve ileyke'l-masîr. We stand up. Now look. I will do a prostration. Prostration.

I will go into prostration now. Let me do my prostration (?). You too; let me say it beforehand. You do your prostration. Allahu Ekber. Semi'nâ ve eta'nâ gufrâneke Rabbenâ ve ileyke'l-masîr. Yes. We have done our prostration.

Hodja, may I ask, he says, prostration: one of the verses of prostration, Fussilat verse 37, could you compare? One of the verses of prostration, Fussilat verse 37, could you compare, he says. This verse, shall we compare it with that, Ender?

Yes.

Yes. Verse 37. Let's compare this too. What does it say? The night and the day, the sun and the moon are among His signs. If you want to worship Allah, do not prostrate to the sun or the moon either. Prostrate to Allah who created them, it says. Now here too. How beautiful. What does it say? Do not prostrate to them. That is, to the sun, the moon, or to other things Allah created, never prostrate. What does it say? Pay attention. Prostrate to Allah who created them, it says. Yes. And what am I saying here now? O my Lord, I do not prostrate to anyone but You, I say. And with praise I prostrate to Allah again.

Yes.

Allahu Ekber.

Semi'nâ ve eta'nâ gufrâneke Rabbenâ ve ileyke'l-masîr. Yes. How meaningful these are.

How meaningful. What did it say? You, the night and the day, the sun and the moon are among His signs. Allah created them all, it says. If you (?) Allah, do not prostrate to the sun or the moon. Prostrate to the one who created them, to Allah the Creator, it says. How beautifully it says it. If you want to prostrate, (?) if you have faith; yes, I say, I have faith. This faith, my belief, is in You. I believe in You, I say, and I prostrate to You, I say. So there is such a beautiful affirmation here. But here that affirmation is absent. That is, in verse 77 of Surah Al-Hajj it is not like that. It is left open. O you who believe, bow down, prostrate yourselves.

Yes. Bow down, prostrate yourselves. Worship your Lord. Some do, some don't. But here it says: do good so that you may attain salvation. Good. And pay attention to the verses of prostration. At the end of all of them it says: prostrate to Allah Almighty. Here it leaves it open. That is why this verse does not count as a prostration. But here (?) personally addresses those who believe. Fellezîne inde rabbike yusebbihûne lehû bi'l-leyli ve'n-nehâri ve hum lâ yes'emûn. Yes'emûn, the lâ yes'emûn verse. We (?) 37, 38. If people act arrogantly, let them know that the angels who are with your Lord glorify Him night and day without ever tiring, it says.

This is the second one. They glorify Him night and day.

Actually this, verse 37, 38, is a prostration.

Even if people act arrogantly, let them know that the angels who are with your Lord glorify Him night and day without ever tiring. Of course they do not tire, because they are programmed for it. So, if the beings Allah created, without tiring, without wearying, without growing weary, worship and prostrate to Allah, then we, although created as a part from our Lord, although He made us His addressees, although He made us vicegerents of the earth, although He gave us a part of His spirit and made us His addressees, although He left us our own will, left us free, although He created us so lofty and honoured above the worlds, why should I, superior to the angel, not by my own will prostrate to Allah?

Yes.

Worship your Lord, it says. Do good. That you may attain salvation. It says it. Some do, some don't. But on the other side, within one's own will, obliged, uh, a word occurs there that makes one affirm one's Lord. Therefore the verses of prostration, uh, in some there are seventeen, in some eighteen, uh, verses listed. Whether eighteen or 28. We do our prostration anyway when we hear Allah's majesty. We end our lesson here.
