The right translation
Because they denied Our verses and because they were in ignorance about them, they have taken revenge (from themselves) and drowned in the sea.
Explanation
The wrong place in this verse is this: "We took vengeance on them." The correct one is: "They took revenge (on their own souls)."
Allah (swt) does not take revenge on any creature He has created. He does not create a being to take revenge on. Taking revenge means that someone has enmity against someone else. The adversary who watches for the enemy's moment of weakness will take revenge on him by killing him or subjecting him to many torments.
Our Lord is not incapable of taking revenge on His adversary by looking for the enemy's weak moment and not being able to overpower the beings He created. Our Lord is He who formed you in the wombs as He willed. There is no god but Him. He has absolute power and wisdom. Allah says in many verses that Our Lord is powerful and He is the Wise. Allah (swt) is the absolute owner and ruler of the worlds. Our Lord is not an enemy to anyone and does not take revenge on anyone. He invites all His creatures to Him. He will send those who are servants to Him and followers of His Messenger to Paradise and those non-Muslims who do not believe in Him to Hell. In this case, every soul included in hell will take revenge on its own soul. Allah, the Almighty, will fulfill His command.
What is said in the video
Page 165, verse 136, a wrongly translated verse: Because they denied Our verses and were heedless of them, We too took revenge on them and drowned them in the sea, it says. Now it has turned Allah Almighty into a human. First, mutually, you know how you get angry at someone and want revenge on him; Allah Almighty it has adorned with these very same feelings. Allah Almighty has no such thing as taking revenge on anyone. But for the good deeds and sins people have done, Allah Almighty, eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, as the judge of judges, gives them their punishment. Otherwise Allah takes revenge on no one.
If there is anyone to take revenge on, there a person takes revenge on his own nafs. By going beyond what Allah has said. Yes. What does it say now in the wrong one? Because they denied Our verses and were heedless of them, We too took revenge on them and drowned them in the sea, it says. Now I'm reading you the correct one. Because they denied Our verses and were heedless of them, they took revenge on their own nafs and drowned in the sea. Yes.
