Al-A'raf 146: Those who show arrogance on earth unjustly are those who distance themselves from Our verses. They would not believe even if they would see all miracles. When they see the right path, they don’t take it as a path. But when they see the path of transgression, they immediately go astray towards it. This is because they deny Our verses and because they are ignorant about them.

The misinterpretation

I will drive away from Our Verses those who boast unjustly on earth. Even if they see all the miracles, they do not believe. If they see the right path, they will not follow it. But if they see the path of transgression, they immediately turn to it. This is because they denied Our Ayat and were heedless of them.

The right translation

Those who show arrogance on earth unjustly are those who distance themselves from Our verses. They would not believe even if they would see all miracles. When they see the right path, they don’t take it as a path. But when they see the path of transgression, they immediately go astray towards it. This is because they deny Our verses and because they are ignorant about them.

Explanation

The wrong opening in this verse is this: "I will drive away from Our signs." The correct one is: "Those who turn away from Our signs." The translators of the verses have always opened them by attributing shortcomings to Allah (swt). Allah will put whom He wills in Paradise and whom He wills in Hell, He will lead whom He wills astray, He will take revenge on people, He will judge people based on their lives. On the basis of which verse do they explain these things in this way? Allah (swt) is exempt from any imperfect attributes. Allah is very great and very powerful. Our Lord is the Most Merciful and the Most Rahim. There is no god other than Allah. In this case, our Lord's forgiveness is abundant. His people wait patiently for Him to return to Him.

When the Interpreters open the verses, they imagine a deity in such a way that when pagans worship idols, they imagine that their idols will be angry and torment them when they face difficulties, and they beg for mercy from the idols they have made with their hands, Do they open the verses by imagining our Lord in the same way as they offer him food, make offerings in his name and in the name of idols according to their own minds, make use of them for their own benefit, and show the utmost reverence so as not to anger their God?

When they open this Verse, just like the feelings of the pagans for their gods, the translators, knowingly or unknowingly, open it by attributing shortcomings to our Lord, without realizing the meaning of the Verse. My Lord does not take anyone away from His Verses. Until every soul tastes death, our Lord keeps the door of repentance open, waiting for it to return to Him.

What is said in the video

In verse 146, a verse that was interpreted wrongly. 'Those who are arrogant on earth without right I will turn away from Our verses,' it says. Even if they saw all its miracles, they would not believe. Even if they see the right path, they do not take it as a path. But if they see the path of transgression, they at once turn onto it. This is because they denied Our verses and were heedless of them; that is where it stems from.

Now, where is the mistake here? The mistake. Look what it says. 'Those who are arrogant on earth without right, from Our verses I will turn away.'

We put a full stop here. Let me open this up for you. 'Those who are arrogant on earth without right, from Our verses I will turn away.' Aren't there Muslims who are arrogant without right? Are they turned away from the verses?

I mean, does Allah turn even the unbelievers away from His verses despite their arrogance, does He? He invites them, He invites. Allah Almighty turns no one away. Let us read this part now, this much. Let us read the correct one. 'Those who are arrogant on earth without right are the ones who turn away from Our verses.' Look how beautiful. So those who turn away from the verses are those who are arrogant without right. They turn away from the verses. If they stop this arrogance and understand their sin, they return again. How beautiful. Allah's door is open. Only the unbelievers lose hope in Allah.

Allah invites all His servants to Himself. Yes. Again we start with the wrong one. Even if they saw all the miracles, they would not believe. Even if they saw the right path, they would not take it as their way. But if they see the path of transgression, they at once turn onto it. This is because they denied Our verses and were heedless of them; that is where it stems from. These parts are correct. We read the correct ones the same way too. 'Those who are arrogant on earth without right are the ones who turn away from Our verses.' Even if they saw all the miracles, they would not believe. Even if they saw the right path, they would not take it as their way.

But if they see the path of transgression, they at once turn onto it. This is because they denied Our verses and were among the heedless, were heedless of them; that is where it stems from, it says.
