Al-A'raf 176: If he had desired, he surely would have elevated himself with these verses. But he was stuck in this worldly life and followed his desires. His situation has a resemblance to that of a dog. If you approach it, it will take out its tongue and pant, if you leave it, it will take out its tongue and pant. This is the situation of people who deny Our verses. Tell them about this history so that they will contemplate.

The misinterpretation

Had We willed, We would certainly have raised him through these verses. But he became obsessed with the world and followed his whim. His condition is just like that of the dog. If you step on it, it will stick your tongue out and breathe, if you let it go, it will hang and breathe. Such is the situation of the people who denied Our Verses. Tell the story, maybe they will think.

The right translation

If he had desired, he surely would have elevated himself with these verses.

Explanation

This verse also opens incorrectly: "Tell them the parable, that they may reflect." The correct one is: "Tell the parable, so that they may reflect."

In this verse, they have used the word 'may' in the same understanding. 174. We are copying the footnote of this verse verbatim here.

The whole mistake is the writings of people who are ignorant of the 172nd verse of Surah A'raf and open the verses with superstitions according to their own minds. Those who have written the translation are unaware of the 172nd Verse of Surah A'râf and they have attributed our Lord because they have opened the Verses according to their own minds.

Our Lord has made a covenant with people. He has written their destiny according to their desires and wishes. In this case, Our Lord knows the secrets of people's hearts. He has programmed these worlds until the Day of Judgment. No creature can go beyond this program. Is it not contrary to the glory and knowledge of our Lord and the verse: "There is not a single creature that will come until the Day of Judgment that we do not know what it will do"? Therefore, the truth of this verse is: "Tell the story so that they may think". Because he knows who among a people will be Islam, he has used the word "until". "Until" is a demonstrative pronoun. It is the opportunity of a unit of time given to those who will convert to Islam.

What is said in the video

Verse 176 too they interpreted wrongly.

Had We willed, We would surely have raised him through these verses. But he clung to the world and followed his desire. His state is just like the state of a dog. If you go at it, it pants with its tongue out; if you leave it, it pants with its tongue out. Such is the state of the people who deny Our verses. Tell the story, perhaps they will reflect, it says. Perhaps they will reflect. Now, there are no 'perhaps'es here.

What does it say here? He told the story. So that they reflect.

Yes. 'La'allahum yatafakkarun' — the word 'la'alla', this is it On the word 'le'alle' they have always erred. Whereas what do we say? Had they willed, they would surely have risen through these verses. Who? The deniers. Allah Almighty... the (?) verses Allah has sent, the noble (?) ruling, had people judged by it, they would rise in Allah's sight. Allah Almighty gives us so much sustenance. He creates us close to His Self. He has equipped us with every kind of sustenance. He has placed every kind of pleasure and delight at our command. He has created these worlds. He has made us vicegerents in this world.

Sir, if we turn our backs on the One who gives this much sustenance and deny Him, what will our state be, I wonder? Do we think about this? Today there is neither Allah, nor Book, nor prophet.

People are stark naked, undressed, walking about on the streets. Stark naked. May Allah protect us. I am reluctant to go downstairs. Sometimes I have to, here. Since I am alone, I go for some needs. Believe me, I bow my head to the ground so as not to see; I also drive a car. May Allah make our end good. So if Allah gives us bread, it is for the sake of the good ones, for their sake, and because He has programmed the world, until a certain time He will give us our sustenance, Allah Almighty.

Had they willed, they would surely have risen through these verses. But he clung to the world and followed his desire. His state is just like the state of a dog. If you go at it, it pants with its tongue out. If you leave it, it pants with its tongue out. Because he has followed his desire. Satan has put his yoke on his neck, and now he has run even further from it (?). Because Satan too says somewhere: I fear Allah, he says. He says this somewhere. I fear Allah, he says. And these have gone even beyond the (?) that Satan gives to man.

If you tell these people the truth, in the face of that truth, to spread falsehood over the truth, he lets his tongue hang out, does this sort of thing; if you leave him, he pants with his tongue hanging out, it says. So the state of the people who deny Our verses is like this. Tell the story so that, so that they reflect. That is, those among them who are Muslim, so that perhaps they think with sound reason and to the truth they return. Yes.
