At-Tawbah 13: (Oh you believers!) Will you not fight against a nation that breaks covenants, attempts to drive away the Prophet (from his home) and has first started war against you? Or is it that you are afraid of them? The One who deserves to be feared by you is Allah. This is what the mu’min know.

The misinterpretation

(O believers!) Will you not fight a people who broke their promise, tried to expel the Prophet (from his homeland), and started war against you first? Or are you afraid of them? If you are (true) believers, know that Allah is more deserving of your fear.

The right translation

(Oh you believers!) Will you not fight against a nation that breaks covenants, attempts to drive away the Prophet (from his home) and has first started war against you? Or is it that you are afraid of them? The One who deserves to be feared by you is Allah. This is what the mu’min know.

Explanation

This is the wrong opening in the verse: (O you who believe!) The truth is: (O you who believe!) Here they have confused the believers with the believers. Who is a Muslim and who is a believer? These people, who do not know, have tried to explain the Verses.

A believer is a person who has reached Nafsi Mutmainnah. Our Lord says in the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th verses of Surah al-Fajr: "O soul that has reached the state of contentment, it is the people to whom my Lord says: "O soul that has reached the state of contentment, enter among My servants and enter My Paradise." Accordingly, the meaning of the verse is O believers. Not O believers. Our Lord is addressing those who believe. At the end of the verse, see how beautifully He addresses the believers: (It is Allah whom you should fear. The believers know this). There are seven states of a person's nafs. Nafsi Emmare, Nafsi Levvame, Nafsi Mulhime, Nafsi Mutmainne, this is where a person becomes aware of the manifestations. Then Nafsi Raziye, Nafsi Marziyye, Nafsi Safiye. Nafsi Raziye is the gate of knowledge. Nafs Marziyya is Kutbul Azam. And Nafsi Safiyah is Qutbul Aqtab. Unless people are aware of certain states, they cannot open the verses of the Qur'an easily.

What is said in the video

Which verse is it? We left off at the thirteenth verse. Yes. We have brought up the thirteenth verse.

O believers, it says.

Here it says O believers. It has put it in parentheses anyway. O believers, a people who broke their word and tried to drive the Prophet out of his homeland and who first started the war, the war, against you — will you not fight against them?

Or are you afraid of them? If you are true believers, know that Allah is more worthy of your fear, it says. Who will spot what is missing here?

Shall I look once more? Tell me what is missing. Hodja, it says true believers, Hodja, there. Yes. A believer's being true or else lacking (?), Hodja. A believer is a believer, Hodja. Yes. Now look: O you who believe, a people who broke their word and tried to drive the Prophet out of their homeland and who first started the war against you — will you not fight against them? Or are you afraid of them? It is Allah who is worthy of your fear. Believers know it this way.

Believers know it this way. (?) what does it say here? If you are true believers, know that Allah is more worthy of your fear.

So the one who is not true does not know this. The true one does not know this either (?). Whereas believers know it this way. What does believer mean? A person who has passed through nafs-i emmare, nafs-i levvame, nafs-i mülhime, risen to nafs-i mutmainne, and come to know the divine manifestations. Yes.
