Yunus 12: When harm comes upon man, he prays to Us, laying on his sides or while standing. But when We alleviate the harm from him, he just strides, as if he did not pray to Us for the loss that touched him. For transgressors, their actions appear attractive.

The misinterpretation

When a harm comes to a person, he prays to us by lying on his side, sitting or standing (for the removal of that harm), but when we remove his distress from him, he passes away as if he had not prayed for us because of a distress that had touched him. Those who transgressed were shown good in what they were doing.

The right translation

When harm comes upon man, he prays to Us, laying on his sides or while standing. But when We alleviate the harm from him, he just strides, as if he did not pray to Us for the loss that touched him. For transgressors, their actions appear attractive.

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: The transgressors were made to look beautiful in what they were doing. The truth is: To the transgressors what they are doing seems good.

Our Lord has left people free in their will. He does not interfere in the will of any human being. People will be held to account for what they have done. In this case, if what people do when they transgress is shown to them as beautiful, those people will never return to the truth. In fact, evil deeds look good to those who transgress. Every human being will be held accountable for the decisions they make of their own volition. Our Lord does not show good deeds to transgressors or to people.

subtle words.

Verse 12 of Surah Yunus is also a verse that has been wrongly translated. When harm comes to man, lying on his side, sitting or standing, he prays to Us for that harm to be removed. Isn't that how it is? Yes, and some of them (?), of course. But when We remove his distress, as if, because of a distress that touched him, he had never prayed to Us, he passes on. What the transgressors were doing was made to seem fair to them, it says.

They have always translated the verses wrongly. It goes so well right up to the end. At the end they corrupt the verses. I mean, they cannot corrupt the verse itself. They corrupt the translation of the verse.

Yes.

Now here it is right up to the end, look. When harm comes to man, lying on his side, sitting or standing, for that harm to go away, he prays to Us. But when We remove his distress from him, as if, because of a distress that touched him, he had never prayed to Us, he passes on. What the transgressors are doing appears fair to them, it says. Right up to the end. What happened at the end? In a single word. I read the wrong one: What the transgressors were doing was made to seem fair. If You made the things of transgressors seem fair, doesn't this now contradict this verse? Do not overstep the limits of Allah.

Do not push the limits of Allah, it says. So on the one hand it says: Do not push the limits of Allah. And on the other it says: it was made to seem fair to those who overstep Allah's limits. Now what kind of contradiction is this, what kind of muddle? Do Allah Almighty's words contradict one another? Yes. Whereas what do we say? What the transgressors are doing appears fair to them. Because the nafs accepts nothing within Allah's command. It always goes after what it likes. What will happen? On holidays they'll go to summer houses, they'll go to beaches, to places of entertainment they'll go, they'll crave exposure and nakedness.

In ways Allah does not want, sir, they'll indulge in pleasure, as if they will never die and Allah Almighty, who sent them to this world, will not call them to account. The provisions He gave him, sir, as if he had taken them and created them himself and eaten them, he will turn his back on Allah, and this person will go on with his life in irresponsibility.

Yes. It was made to seem fair, it says. These people. Then what more does Allah Almighty want from me?

Whereas: what the transgressors are doing appears fair to them. How beautiful. Now if you overstep that limit, if you follow (?), if you go outside Allah's commands, Allah Almighty too, one day, on that Day of Reckoning, according to the verse that says 'on that day judgment belongs to Allah alone', Allah, the Judge of judges, will quickly settle our account. Yes.
