Yunus 107: If Allah gives you a calamity, there is no one other than Allah to make it disappear. And if Allah desires goodness for you, there is no one to make Allah’s grace disappear. Allah makes Allah’s grace reach those servants who desire. Allah is Ghafoor (Most Forgiving) and Raheem (the One Who very generously accepts repentance).

The misinterpretation

If Allah afflicts you with harm, there is no one to remove it but Him. If he wishes you a favor, there is no one who can turn down his favor. He gives His good to whomever He wills of His servants. And He is Forgiving, Merciful.

The right translation

If Allah gives you a calamity, there is no one other than Allah to make it disappear. And if Allah desires goodness for you, there is no one to make Allah’s grace disappear. Allah makes Allah’s grace reach those servants who desire. Allah is Ghafoor (Most Forgiving) and Raheem (the One Who very generously accepts repentance).

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: He bestows His good to whom He wills of His servants. The truth is: He makes His goodness reach those of His servants who wish it.

We have explained in many Verses that Our Lord has no will over mankind. A detailed explanation of this Verse is available in the footnote of the 172nd Verse of Surah A'râf. To conclude with a short sentence. Our Lord made a covenant with us in the address Elestu bi Rabbikum. He has written everyone's destiny as their destiny. If our Lord was going to remove our will from us and use His will on us, why did He make a covenant with us? The answer to these questions is found in the 172nd verse of Surah A'râf.

What is said in the video

Verse 107. Of Surah Yunus, the 107th verse: If Allah touches you with harm, no one but Him can remove it. We are reading the wrong version. If He wills good for you, no one can turn back His generosity either. He brings His good to whomever He wills of His servants. Now here this word has been twisted. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Now look: He brings His good to whomever He wills of His servants. Whom He wills. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Well, if He brings it to whom He wills, then you can say all you like on the other side. To whom He wills, to whom He wills He will bring it.

To whom He does not will, He will not give. And then it says He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. The words, completely: when people render the verses, their own words contradict each other. Whereas: if Allah touches you with harm, no one but Him can remove it. Correct. Allah Almighty tests some people with their lives and their property. The affliction He has given, again, Allah Almighty says: behind every climb a descent, behind every climb a climb, He says. Yes. If He wishes good for you, there is none who can turn back His grace. These parts are correct. He brings His good to whoever of His servants wills it, His good.

Allah Almighty rains down good. He makes the rain fall, the rain. The rain: he has opened his umbrella. I don't need your water, sir. Or: I don't need Your mercy, he says. He goes on his way. Well, take it if you like, or don't. But that rain falls, that mercy falls. Yes. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful, it says. Correct. Like this, yes.
