Explanation
And this is where this verse goes wrong: Except whom your Lord wills. The truth is: Except those who ask our Lord.
We have explained in many Verses that Our Lord has no will over mankind. A detailed explanation of this Verse is available in the footnote of the 172nd Verse of Surah A'râf. To conclude with a short sentence. Our Lord made a covenant with us in the address Elestu bi Rabbikum. He has written everyone's destiny as their destiny. If our Lord was going to remove our will from us and use His will on us, why did He make a covenant with us? The answer to these questions is found in the 172nd verse of Surah A'râf.
What is said in the video
There is a mistake in the hundred and seventh verse. Well, what does it say? In the hundred and seventh verse, let us read the wrong let us read. 'Except what my Lord wills' — look, here he makes the mistake right at the start anyway. Except what my Lord wills, the others will remain forever in that fire as long as the heavens and the earth endure will remain. For your Lord fully does what He wills; my Lord, your Lord fully does what He wills, it says. These are correct. But the beginning is wrong; what do we say? Except those who ask it of their Lord. Ask for what? Except those who ask for Paradise.
The others, as long as the heavens and the earth endure; since the Hereafter is an endless realm, as long as those heavens and the earth endure, that is, that there is no death for souls, that they are deathless, that Paradise and Hell are everlasting, and that the souls too, in Paradise and Hell, will remain everlasting: this Allah Almighty makes known. Except those who ask it of their Lord, the others, as long as the heavens and the earth endure, in that Fire forever will remain. For your Lord fully does what He wills, it says. Yes. In one of His verses He says this: After burning there for many thousands of years, as logs of fire there they will remain, it says. Logs of fire, that is, they will remain there as logs.
Yes. Yes.
