Yusuf 76: Upon this, Joseph began with (searching) their load first before the load of his brother. And then, he took it out of the load of his brother. As such, We taught Joseph a precaution. Otherwise, according to the law of the ruler, he would not have been able to keep his brother with him. But with the exception that Allah would desire. We exalt those who desire from us with degrees; (this is) because for every possessor of knowledge, there is also somebody who knows more.

The misinterpretation

Thereupon, Yusuf began to (seek) their burden before his brother's. Then he took him out of his brother's burden. We taught Yusuf such a precaution. Otherwise, according to the king's law, he would not be able to keep his brother. Except by the will of Allah. Whoever We will, We raise him in degrees. Because above every scholar, there is someone who knows better.

The right translation

Upon this, Joseph began with (searching) their load first before the load of his brother.

Explanation

This is where it goes wrong: Except Allah wills. And whomsoever We will, We raise him in degrees. The truth is: Except Allah wills. Whosoever wills of Us, We will raise him in degrees.

This verse makes it clear that Allah (swt) has no will over people. One part is correct and the other contradicts each other with inconsistent words. In the opening of the verse, the correct part of the verse says except Allah's will. This place is correct. Our Lord creates whatever He wills. Our Lord did what He willed and created what He created.

But the wrong opening is this. Whoever We will, We raise him in degrees. Now if we evaluate the wrong opening. Will is two: 1- Universal Will, 2- Minor Will. The universal will is Allah (swt). By saying "except for Allah's will" we mean that He created what He wanted. However, He does not interfere with what the free will wants, and our Lord, who writes what people want and desire with their will as their destiny, does not do injustice here and elevate the unjust above the just. In this case, it is not possible for Our Lord to raise people's grades by His will. Because our Lord made a covenant with the people at Kalu Bela and gave the destiny of every human being to Him.

What is said in the video

Let's see, in which other verses of Surah Yusuf is something missing? In verse 76 there is a mistake. Here, too, it says this: Thereupon Joseph began searching their bags before his brother's bag. Correct. Then he took it out of his brother's bag. Thus did We teach Joseph such a plan. This is also correct. Otherwise, under the king's law, he could not have held his brother. Except that Allah willed — here again it says, except that Allah willed. We raise in degrees whom We will, it says. For above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better. Above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better.

Now here there are words that do not agree with each other. What does it say? We raise in degrees whom We will. All right. He raises. For above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better. Now here, with Allah Almighty's willing, you too would say: O my Lord, I too (?) your servant — if only You had given to me as You gave to him. I would have done the same thing, you would say to this. But it removes free will. When Allah Almighty uses the will over man, mistakes like this come out. Whereas every person, within his own will, has a responsibility toward Allah Almighty. In this case — what does it say now — we read the correct version. Thereupon Joseph, before his brother's bag, began searching their bags.

Then he took it out of his brother's bag. Thus did We teach Joseph such a plan. Otherwise, under the king's law, he could not have held his brother. Now we read the correct version. Except that Allah willed — look, except that Allah willed — whoever wishes it from Us, whoever wishes it from Us. Well, Hodja, here now what difference is there between the two? There are such great differences here. Look now: except that Allah willed, whom We will, it says. Whom We will. What does it say here? Except that Allah willed, whoever wishes it from Us. So what is here? Now I am opening this up for you.

Except that Allah willed. Allah Almighty has a will, too. That is, 'kun' — when He says create, be — I create, says Allah Almighty. Well, isn't that His willing? Except that Allah willed, it says here now. That is, except My willing. Still, over you. Except My willing. We raise in degrees whom We will, it says. This is what is wrong. What does it say here? Except that Allah willed. Whoever wishes it from Us, We raise him in degrees. Whoever wishes it from Us.

What does it say here? We raise in degrees whom We will. Here again a distinction arises among people. So: except that Allah willed, whoever wishes it from Us, We raise him in degrees. For above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better, it says. Here I would sometimes get confused, I would say: above one knowledge there is someone, above one knowledge there is someone else, who is above him, who is this? If he too is a human, say, there must be someone above him as well, what does Allah Almighty mean, I would wonder. Here the meaning is this. What does it say? For above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better.

That is, let no one with knowledge boast, 'I am a man of knowledge' — above him there is someone with knowledge. Allah Almighty has raised a scholar above him. Then He has raised a scholar above that one too. Then the human part ends. Above him there is Me, says the One with knowledge. Allah Almighty symbolizes His own Being there, here. What does it say? For above everyone who has knowledge there is one who knows better. Who knows better? Allah Almighty knows. Allah Almighty does not separate people from His Being. He has, after all, given people a part of His spirit and endowed them with the forms of His Being. Yes.
