The misinterpretation

He was grateful for God's blessings. Because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path.

The right translation

He was grateful for the provisions of Allah, he was a superior character and was on the straight path (of Allah).

Explanation

This is the wrong place in this verse: Because Allah had chosen him and guided him. The correct is: Because he was a superior person and on the right path of Allah.

Allah (swt) sent human beings into the world. To witness for themselves what kind of a human being they are. In this case, since people will be held accountable for what they have done, Allah (swt) neither guides a person to the right path nor chooses a person. People will be held accountable for what they have done.

In the previous verse, Our Lord says the following. Verse 120: (Ibrahim was indeed a leader who turned to the Truth and obeyed Allah. He was not of those who associate partners with Allah). According to this verse, Prophet Ibrahim was a Prophet who was close to the truth by his own faith and will. Otherwise, Allah did not choose Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) by His own will. Furthermore, our Lord made a covenant with the first Prophets He created from the soul of our Prophet (SAW). In the 81st Verse of Surah Al-Imran, our Lord says:

(81- Remember when Allah sent among the Prophets, after I gave you the Book and wisdom, a Messenger who confirms what is before you, you will certainly help him. Have you affirmed this? Have you accepted this covenant? When I asked them, they replied that they accepted. Then Allah said, "Then bear witness, and I am one of those who bear witness with you.") So our Lord does not choose anyone. The truth of the verse: Because he was a superior person and on the right path of Allah.

What is said in the video

Verse 121 — we are reading the wrongly interpreted verse. “He was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path,” it says. Allah chooses no one and guides no one to the right path. When everyone made the covenant with Him, according to their covenant Allah Almighty gives them their ranks. I'm reading the correct version. “He was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because he was a superior person. He was on Allah's right path.” Yes.

Who is He saying this about? Allah Almighty.

He says it about Abraham (peace be upon him). About Abraham (peace be upon him). And what does He say about Abraham (peace be upon him)? He was a hanif, He says. Since childhood he had worshipped nothing. He knew only Allah as Allah. That's why since his childhood he believed in one single god, in one single Allah, and relied on Him. So in this respect, what does it say now? “Grateful for Allah's blessings, because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path.” Whereas what was the meaning of hanif? By his own desire and wish he had worshipped no one. He knew only Allah as the one Creator.

That is the meaning of hanif. Yes.

Here it was translated wrongly. Whereas: “He was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because he was a superior person and was on Allah's right path.” Yes.
