Al-Kahf 57: Who is a greater oppressor than the one who turns away from the verses of Allah when reminded of them, and who forgets about the things that Allah has bestowed? They had wished to be veiled on their hearts and their ears covered so as not to understand. Even if you call them for guidance, they will never come to guidance.

The misinterpretation
Who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the verses of his Lord and turns his back on them and forgets what he has done with his own hands? We have placed a heaviness in their hearts that prevents them from understanding this, and deafness in their ears. Even if you call them to guidance, they will not be guided forever.
The right translation
Who is a greater oppressor than the one who turns away from the verses of Allah when reminded of them, and who forgets about the things that Allah has bestowed? They had wished to be veiled on their hearts and their ears covered so as not to understand. Even if you call them for guidance, they will never come to guidance.
Explanation
This is where this verse also goes wrong: "We have given their hearts a heaviness that prevents them from understanding it, and their ears deafness." The correct version is: "We have put a weight in their hearts which prevents them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears." He made a covenant with them at Kalu Bela so that people would not accuse Our Lord in this way. Verses 172 and 173 of Surah A'râf clearly explain why our Lord made a covenant with us. We recommend reading the footnotes of these Verses.
It is worth mentioning this much briefly! Our Lord does not put a veil over anyone's eyes, nor a weight on anyone's ears, nor seals anyone's heart. As we have explained in verse 172 of Surah A'râf, those who disbelieve in Our Lord who has made a covenant with mankind have themselves made Our Lord put veils over their eyes, weights in their ears and sealed their hearts. Our Lord, who has written the desires and wishes of every human being as a destiny for Himself, has not spontaneously discriminated between people and created some of them to be in Paradise and others to be in Hell. People have determined their own place by their denial of our Lord and by their own desires and wishes.
What is said in the video
No. Yes. There is a mistake in verse 57. What does it say? 'Who is more unjust than one who is reminded of his Lord's verses and turns his back on them, and forgets what his own hands have done?' it says.
There are many meanings here, but these are correct. These parts are correct. The meanings are very deep. Truly, Allah Almighty, in two sentences or in one sentence — pages full or books full of meaning come out here. Yes. 'We have put on their hearts a heaviness that prevents them from understanding it, and in their ears deafness.' Now here there is a mistake. We will explain this part. 'Even if you call them to guidance, they will never come to guidance.' Allah gives no one's heart and ears deafness, nor does He seal them. Rather, a person makes his own ear deaf himself, and has his heart sealed. Here indeed: 'Than one who is reminded of his Lord's verses and turns his back on them, and the things presented to his own hands, his hands — forgets — who is more unjust?' What does it say here? 'Who is more unjust than one who forgets what his own hands have done?' Whereas: 'Who is more unjust than one who forgets the things presented to his own hands?' 'They have had placed on their hearts a heaviness that prevents them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears.' That is, this reminds of that.
It recalls the ruling of 'Alastu bi-Rabbikum'. Allah Almighty made a covenant with the descendants of the children of Adam that they would (?). It reminds us of this covenant. 'Even if you call them to guidance, they will never come to guidance.' Because if a person has turned his back on the Truth — on the Truth — and has (?) his covenant, then there is no one to bring him to the right path again. Because Allah Almighty: 'With Us is a Book, preserved in the Preserved Tablet. Then nothing is added to it, nor is anything taken away,' He says. Yes.
The meanings of these are written in Asr-ı Saadet, the commentary and translation of the Holy Quran.
