The misinterpretation

We also gave him softness of heart and cleanliness from Our side. He was a very cautious person.

The right translation

He had a kind heart and was very merciful. He abstained (from sins).

Explanation

The wrong opening in this verse is this: "And (We gave him) from Us softness of heart and purity." The correct one is: "He was pious and shunned sin. His heart was soft and merciful."

Our mother Maryam was very pious. Our Lord says in His Verse: Surah A'râf Sûra 26- O Children of Adam! We have given you garments to cover your private parts and clothes to adorn yourselves with, but the garment of piety (to avoid disobeying Allah) is better. These (garments) are among the signs of Allah's mercy. We have given them to mankind that they may be admonished).

Our mother Maryam was also very pious, very obedient to our Lord, very careful of sins. She was also a very pure person herself, because her heart was very soft, very merciful. The meaning of purity here. The meaning of purity here is that she gave birth to Jesus without a man's hand touching her. By the degree of faith each person has in our Lord, by the justice of our Lord, He has exalted those who are close to Him in degrees.

In all the places where they have wrongly opened, they have prejudiced the justice of our Lord by characterizing our Lord with words like he chose this, he glorified that.

What is said in the video

When we say there is an error in verse 13 of Surah Maryam, do not take it as an error in the verses. There is an error in its translation. In its translation. What does it say? 'From Us We gave him tenderness of heart and purity too. He was a very God-fearing person,' it says. Now it says: 'From Us We gave him tenderness of heart and purity too.' Now, Allah Almighty does not give anyone tenderness of heart and purity. Because of a person's love and devotion to Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty — knowing what kind of purity of heart, what kind of tenderness, what kind of conduct he has — according to his conduct gives it to him.

Otherwise, Allah Almighty does not program anyone by His own wish and will. What do we say? 'He was very God-conscious and guarding himself from sins, (?) tender-hearted and merciful.' Look, now here it ascribes this to Allah Almighty. What does it say? 'From Us We gave him tenderness of heart and purity. He was a very God-fearing person,' it says. In the end it comes to the way I translated it. What does it say? The correct one: 'He was very God-conscious and guarding himself from sins,' it says.

About whom does He say this? He says it about John. What does it say in the verse before? 'O John, hold fast to the Book, the Torah, with all your strength,' We said, and 'while he was still a child, We gave him knowledge and wisdom,' it says. That is, his rank is high; according to that rank Allah Almighty gives him knowledge and wisdom. Now what does it say? 'We gave tenderness of heart and purity.' According to that knowledge, Allah Almighty gave it to him. That is, according to the characters Allah Almighty wished — his love and devotion to Allah Almighty being great, in this case. His own heart being tender toward Allah Almighty and being purified, that is, cleansed of sins.

'He was very God-conscious and guarding himself from sins. He was tender-hearted and merciful.' Yes.
