Explanation
The misinterpretation
Do not set your eyes on the attraction of the worldly life, from which We have made some of them benefit to test themselves. The blessing of your Lord is both better and more lasting.
The right translation
Do not gaze at the ornaments of the worldly life, like those who gaze at it (with passion) and manifest their characters (to themselves). Your Lord’s provisions are better and more enduring.
Explanation
The wrong opening here is this. Do not set your eyes on the charms of the life of this world, which We have made some of them enjoy, that We may try them. Indeed: Do not gaze upon them as some of them gaze upon the charms of the life of this world to prove themselves (what kind of people they are).
As they kept opening the verses, they opened by accusing our Lord. They accuse our Lord of discriminating among His servants by making it appear that because our Lord dislikes some people He has made them attracted to the blessings of the world. However, every human being made a covenant with our Lord at Kalu Bela to prove what kind of a person he is. In this case, he came into the world to prove what kind of a person he is.
In the 134th Verse of Surah Taha: (If We had destroyed them with a torment before the Qur'an, they would have said. I would not have sent you if you had sent us Prophets and books so that we would not have fallen into this humiliation.
What does this mean? It is the revelation of our Lord's attribute of being Allah, because no human being will be able to question him. Whatever a human being will ask in the Court-i Kübra, he will have actually committed it in his life on earth and will be cut off from the question. Here is the truth of the verse: Do not gaze upon them as some of them gaze upon the charms of the life of this world to prove themselves (what kind of people they are).
What is said in the video
In verse 131, a verse that was translated wrongly, what does it say? Never fix your eyes on the attraction of the worldly life with which We let some of them do not fix your eyes with the allure of worldly life. Look what it says, look. Never fix your eyes on the attraction of the worldly life with which We let some of them that we let enjoy, do not fix your eyes with the allure of worldly life. The blessing of your Lord is both better and more lasting. Whereas here: do not, so that they prove what kind of people they are, a group of them fixing their eyes with the allure of worldly life and enjoy it, fix your eyes on them. The blessing of your Lord is better and more lasting, it says.
How beautiful. What does it say here? "Never... with which We let some of them enjoy themselves to test them" — so Allah doesn't know, and He tests them? What does it say? Never fix your eyes on the attraction of the worldly life with which We let some of them enjoy themselves to test them. Whereas what does it say here? Now: do not, so that they prove what kind of people they are, the way some of them fix their eyes on the attraction of the worldly life and enjoy it, fix your eyes on them. The blessing of your Lord is better and more lasting, it says. Yes.
