The misinterpretation
He once prepared the place of Baytullah for Ibrahim and (we said to him) Do not associate anything with me; Keep my house clean for those who circumambulate, worship standing, bow down and prostrate.
The right translation
And (recall) that time when We prepared for Abraham a place at the House (of Allah) (and said) “do not associate anything as equal to Me. Keep My house clean for those who perform the tawaf (circumambulation), who pray standing up, who bow down and who prostrate.
Explanation
This verse has been explained in an incomplete and different sense. It is said as follows. He once prepared for Abraham the place of the Baytullah. Indeed: Remember that time when We prepared for Abraham a seat in the place of the Bayti Sharif.
When he said, "We have prepared the place of the Bayt," he meant that the Bayt has been in its place since the time of our father Adam. The Bayt was once buried under the sands, and later, by Allah's command, Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his son Ismail (peace be upon him) raised the Bayt out from under the sands. Next to the Bayt al-Bayt, opposite the gate of the Baytullah, he had a place of prayer prepared for Hazrat Ibrahim.

Because to some prophets, of the world of the hereafter, Allah Almighty shows as much as He wills. Or of the future, or of the past, He shows what will happen. Now here: remember that time when for Abraham We prepared a station on the site of the Holy House. And We said to him: associate nothing with Me, and for those who circle it, those who worship standing, those who bow and prostrate, keep My house clean. And here, what does it say in the wrong one? At one time We prepared the site of the House of Allah for Abraham and said to him: associate nothing with Me, and for those who circle it, those who stand who worship, those who bow and prostrate, keep My house clean.
That is, they wrote the words incompletely, in a cut-down way.
