The misinterpretation
Undoubtedly, there are some lessons in this (what happened to Noah and his people). Indeed, we (thus) test (our servants).
The right translation
Undoubtedly, there are some lessons in this (story of Noah and his nation). Indeed, We put Our servants to trials (within their fate, so that they will be witnesses to themselves).
Explanation
This is where this verse goes wrong: We test (Our servants in this way). Verily: We test Our servants (in their destiny) (to make them witnesses). Our Lord does not need to test anyone. Our Lord first made a covenant with our souls, our real beings in the Hereafter. God, who knows what we are and what kind of people we are, cannot test us. But He puts us to the test in order to testify to Himself what kind of a person we are. According to the verse, "There is not a single creature that will come until the Day of Resurrection that we do not know what it will do", if they open the verse by saying that this is how We test Our servants, they are characterizing Our Lord. Indeed, We test Our servants (in their destiny) (to make them witnesses).
What is said in the video
In Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 30 has been translated wrongly: surely in this — in what happened to Noah and his people — there are lessons. Indeed We test Our servants like this, it says.
Where is the testing?
Allah said: there is not a single living being to come until the Day of Resurrection whose doings We do not know. Until the Day of Resurrection, not a leaf stirs without Our permission — according to these verses, where is the testing here? Do you know what testing is? Testing: I don't know what kind of person you are. I'll test you by what you do. If you're doing good things right now, you're good. If you did that thing badly, you're a bad person. Maybe you're truly a good person. So, Allah Almighty — in this way, by people's state at that moment good, by their later state bad — as if Allah were unaware of people's state — sir, if they create that perception, if they write it here like this, then of course a person's love for Allah decreases too.
What does he say? Now (?), later I'll do my worship.
Yes. Based on what does he say this? He's only testing me anyway. Allah's forgiveness is plentiful too. Later I'll return to my prayer, to my supplication. And I'll be saved. Those with little faith say this anyway. Now no one says that either. No one says it like that now anyway. Whereas death is at the tip of one's nose. It's even closer than that.
A person can't know when Allah's decree will befall him. In that case, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: as if never to die, for this world, and as if about to die, for the hereafter, perform worship, he says.
Whereas: surely in this and in what happened to his people there are lessons.
Indeed, within their destinies, We put Our servants to the test to make them witnesses over themselves, it says. How beautiful, look. Within their destinies. To make them witnesses over themselves. A person, throughout his whole life, with all the actions and words he has made, both holds himself as a witness over himself, holds himself as a witness to those around him, and holds himself as a witness before Allah Almighty.
Every moment. There's no escape.
Yes.
