The misinterpretation
So we rescued him and his family. Except for his wife alone; We appreciated that he remained behind (among those who suffered).
The right translation
Upon this, We saved him and his family, with the exception of his wife; she was among those who stayed behind (and were destroyed).
Explanation
This is the wrong place in this verse: We decreed that he should remain behind (among the tormented). Verily: He was one of those left behind (among the tormented).
Our Lord does not create any of His creatures with the intention of placing them in torment. When they made a covenant with human beings in the address Elestu bi Rabbikum, everyone's desires and wishes were given to them as their destiny. In this case, when people come to the world, they will receive rewards or sins for the deeds they do with the actual actions they commit within their destiny. In this case, if our Lord had ordained the deeds that people would commit in this world, why did He make a covenant with us in the Hereafter? In other words, just as people lie with the promises they make to people for show, is our Lord like the feelings of people like us? Our Lord says in His Verse: Surat al-Sad Sûra 84 (Verily, I always speak the truth).
In this case, when we open the Verses of our Lord, our Lord did not determine the fate of people in relation to the deeds that people have committed. People have written their destiny to our Lord as their destiny by their own will and desire. So the true meaning of the verse is as follows: He was one of those who remained behind (among the tormented).
What is said in the video
I'm reading. Then We saved him and his family.
Except his wife. Who is this? Lot (peace be upon him). Except his wife; her remaining behind among those struck by the punishment We decreed, it says. Now when it says "We decreed", it means I didn't like you. Your deeds weren't good either. I declared you a sinner. Those who decree, decree, what does it say? We decreed, it says. He is testing her. As a result of that test: you are no good. Perish together with them, He says. This meaning of decree is that the person, that is, Allah Almighty, after testing her, makes a decision about her. After testing her. What does it mean? I test you. I look at your state and condition.
Friend, you are not good. You are not bad. Off you go, I said. Whereas what does it say there? Then We saved him and his family. Except his wife; she was among those who remained behind with those struck by the punishment. She was among those who remained with those struck by the punishment. Why? Because she gave her covenant to Allah Almighty badly, yet she lives at Lot's side, his wife. His wife, but a disbeliever.
Sorry?
Where does it become evident that she is a disbeliever?
Where does it become evident? How does she come to suffer punishment? From reporting the angels' arrival, reporting the angels' arrival to her people, that's why. Yes, the angels come, and the angels come as very handsome young men. His wife goes to
the chiefs of the people and reports that very handsome young men came to Noah. Yes,
the people gather too. Hand these over to us, they say to Noah. And Noah laments greatly. If only, he says, there were a strong fortress, (?), he says. He makes a mistake by not taking refuge in Allah there. A slip. These are slips. Actually he too is sincere. If only there were a (?) strong fortress, (?). What do the angels say to, well, them? Don't be afraid, they say. We are angels. We have come to destroy this people. Before dawn, they say. Before dawn. Take your family and leave here, they say.
And when the people come inside to take the young men, the angels, with the angels' gaze they freeze to the spot. Freezing like that, they say: these are sorcerers. And they pull back. Yes. Look what they went through. What happened. Yes.
And look, Allah Almighty did not decree it for her. She herself, among those who decree punishment for themselves, joined herself. And Allah Almighty said: if that's what you want, so be it. He left her free in her own will. He gave her destiny that way. Now, did Allah decree this? She herself. One must pay close attention to these points. Yes.
