Explanation
The misinterpretation
The living and the dead are not alike. Surely, Allah makes whoever He wishes hear. You cannot make the dead hear.
The right translation
And the living are not equal to those who are dead. Verily, the ones who desire from Allah hear. You cannot make the dead hear.
Explanation
The wrong opening here is this: Verily Allah makes whom He wills to hear. The truth is: Surely those who ask of Allah hear.
If people hide some of the meanings of the verses, do not understand them and cannot comprehend what is being explained, they mislead people with the meanings of the Holy Qur'an they write, raise doubts in their minds and put people in dead ends. They also earn sin. Our Lord made a covenant with human beings in the address Elestu bi Rabbikum. He wrote the desires and wishes of people as their destiny. It is written in Verses 172 and 173 of Surah A'raf. He gave human beings from His spirit and created human beings honorable over the worlds. In this case, since there is a particle of our Lord in man, man has a mind and a will to direct himself. In this respect, our Lord did not interfere in the desires and wishes of human beings, and whatever human beings asked of our Lord with their own desires and wills, our Lord gave them in full. In this case, the actual actions that people commit in the world with their desires and wishes are for people to prove what kind of a person they are.
Our Lord says in the 134th verse of Surah Taha: (If We had destroyed them with a torment before this (the Qur'an), they would have surely said: "O Lord! If You had sent us a messenger, we would have followed Your Verses before we fell into this humiliation and disgrace). So our Lord, who made a covenant with people after the Elestu bi Rabbikum address, although He gave them their desires and wishes completely, Allah (swt) sent people to the world for the attribute of being Allah (swt), and people take themselves as witnesses against themselves and their surroundings and Allah (swt) as to what kind of a person they are, and when our accounts are settled in the Court-i Kübra, no one will have a single word to say to our Lord. Since the meanings of the verses are not known, they have always opened the verses accusing our Lord.
What is said in the video
In Surah Fatir, in verse 22, there are mistakes. "The living and the dead are not alike." Of course they're not alike; I'm reading the wrong one, though. The living are living, and the dead are dead. Now, here it does not mean the dead in the grave. The living dead. Who are these living dead? Those whose heart and nafs have not found (?). Who have not seen the truth. Their ears are blind. People whose ears are deaf and whose eyes are blind. Those whose hearts are sealed. They are dead. The living dead. "The living and the dead are not alike. Surely Allah makes whom He wills hear." Oh, how nice.
Now if I said to Ömer: Ömer, Allah makes whom He wills hear. He did not make you hear. So you must be bad. If I said that: who created you? Allah? What would he say? Say: what did I do? He did not make me hear. "Well, you cannot make the dead hear," it says. The living and the dead are not alike. Surely those who ask it of Allah hear. You cannot make the dead hear. Now here, is the Prophet going to go to graves and make the dead hear? Look, they have a veil over their eyes and a plug in their ears. Their hearts too have been sealed at their own doing. In this state, whatever you say to such people, they are like a wall.
You cannot make them hear. Making hear here means: you cannot turn them to the truth. Another meaning of making hear here: if at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", with a spirit rebellious, well, against Allah Almighty, he had his fate written, you cannot make him hear the truth.
Yes.
