Az-Zumar 3: Beware! The genuine religion, only belongs to Allah. Those who adopt friends other than Allah say, “We only worship them to come closer to Allah”. Verily, Allah will judge among them, for the matters they dispute about. Undoubtedly, liars and deniers (while they continue to deny), don’t lean towards Allah’s righteous path.

The misinterpretation

Be careful! Pure religion is for Allah alone. Those who leave Him and take some friends for themselves; They say, 'We only serve them so that they may be brought closer to Allah. Indeed, Allah will judge between them regarding that in which they differ. Surely, Allah does not guide anyone who is a liar and disbeliever.

The right translation

Beware!

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: Allah guides not the liar and the disbeliever. The truth is: Verily, the liars and disbelievers will not come to the Straight Path of Allah (if they continue in that state).

In this verse, they are eliminating the attribute of Tawwab of our Lord. Our Lord did not create humans free from mistakes. When people make mistakes, they also sin, but when they repent, our Lord accepts their repentance. Why did our Lord create human beings faulty? Our Lord, who gave humans from His soul, created humans close to Himself and honored them above the worlds. In this case, there is no sin that Our Lord will not forgive, as it is in accordance with the purpose for which He created human beings, in return for people making mistakes and turning to Him and asking for forgiveness, realizing the greatness of Our Lord and taking refuge in Our Lord. In this case, the correct opening of the verse is: The liars and disbelievers (when they continue in that state) will not come to the right path of Allah.

What is said in the video

We had left off at Surah Az-Zumar. We left off at the third verse of Surah Az-Zumar.

'Take heed,' it says. We are now reading the wrong version. Take heed. Pure religion belongs to Allah alone. We believe and we affirm it.

Those who take protectors besides Him, 'We serve them only so that they may be brought closer to Allah' they say. What did they say? 'We serve them only so that they bring us closer to Allah,' they say. Surely Allah will judge between them in what they differ about. 'Surely Allah does not guide one who is a liar and a denier,' it says. Here it is correct up to the end; the last sentence is wrong. What does it say? 'Surely Allah does not guide one who is a liar and a denier,' it says. Whereas (?). The third verse — we are repeating it. What does it say? Take heed, pure religion belongs to Allah alone. Those who take protectors besides Him: 'We serve them only so that they bring us closer to Allah,' they say.

Surely Allah will judge between them in what they differ about. When? On the Day of Resurrection, in the Hereafter, at the Supreme Court. Surely Allah does not guide one who is a liar and a denier. And are there no liars among Muslims? There are. Are there no deniers? There are.

Now, people may deny certain things. When it says 'denier', don't necessarily think of it in terms of religion.

In that case, if we correct this, it will be even better. As long as they persist in that state — look, as long as they persist in that state — they do not come to Allah's right path.

This is the correct ending.

Yes.
