Ghafir 37: “I may reach to the roads of the heavens, and see the God of Moses. Verily, I strongly assume that he is a liar.” So that, Pharaoh’s evil deed appeared attractive to himself, and he had gone astray. Pharaoh’s plot completely went down in vain.

The misinterpretation

I reach the ways of the heavens and I see the god of Moses. “I honestly think he is a liar,” he said. Thus, his evil deed to Pharaoh was adorned and he was led astray. Pharaoh's trap was completely in vain.

The right translation

“I may reach to the roads of the heavens, and see the God of Moses. Verily, I strongly assume that he is a liar.” So that, Pharaoh’s evil deed appeared attractive to himself, and he had gone astray. Pharaoh’s plot completely went down in vain.

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong. So Pharaoh was made to adorn his evil deed and was led astray. Pharaoh's trap came to naught. The truth is: So Pharaoh was made to adorn his evil deed and was led astray. Pharaoh's trap was completely foiled.

Our Lord does not embellish anyone's evil deeds and does not lead anyone astray from His path. When we made a covenant with our Lord at Kalu Bela, every human being had his or her destiny written down for him or her. These worlds are programmed. Our Lord will never again interfere in what people do, nor will He embellish evil, nor will He lead people astray. But when people prepare traps outside their destiny, Our Lord breaks their traps and brings them into their destiny. This is the equivalent of the following verse. They prepare a trap and I prepare a trap, but I am the best of those who prepare a trap. What does this mean? It is to bring people into their own destiny.

What is said in the video

Here verse 37 has been rendered wrongly; verses 35, 36, 37 have been rendered wrongly anyway. I will reach the ways of the heavens and see the god of Moses; indeed, I think he is a liar, he said. Pharaoh says this. Thus the evil deed he did was made to seem attractive to Pharaoh. Now this part is wrong. No one is shown his deed as attractive. No one, I repeat, is shown his deed as attractive. Everyone sees the evil of his deed, its wickedness, as attractive in his own nafs.

If a person's evil deed, if it were shown to him as attractive, My Lord, You said it like this. You showed it like this. And I did it like this. And my nafs liked it, he would say. Would he say this? He would. Allah Almighty has shown us bright paths, the rulings of the Sharia. If you go on this path, He says, this path will lead you to salvation. What path is that? Sirat al-Mustaqim, the straight path.

Otherwise, the evil deeds done by people who wander on deviant paths are not shown to him as attractive. They appear attractive to his own nafs. Won't everyone be called to account for the deeds he himself carried out? So in that case, will he be able to say to Allah Almighty, You made this look attractive to me? So the verse has been rendered wrongly. Who rendered these? People called doctors rendered them. Who rendered them? Those who say, I know Arabic very well, rendered them. Yes. What does it say? I will reach the ways of the heavens and see the god of Moses; indeed, I think he is a liar, he said. Thus to Pharaoh the evil deed he did was made attractive and he was led astray from the path, it says. Also, led astray, that is, it means Allah Almighty here. You did not love that servant of Yours, he showed arrogance, You, sir, made his evil look attractive, and to lead him astray from that path gave him such feelings.

Would Allah really do such a thing to him? Does He not send Moses together with Aaron? Saying, go and warn him. Does He not show him seven miracles? Does the water in their hands not turn to blood? Do locusts not swarm over them? Does drought not come? I mean, I don't understand these things. How can he render this like this? How does he do it? Those who render these like this feel no pang of conscience at all. It's astonishing.

Thus Pharaoh saw his evil deed as attractive. I'm reading the correct one now. Let's read the wrong one first, after explaining this much. I will reach the ways of the heavens and see the god of Moses; indeed, I think he is a liar, he said. Thus to Pharaoh his evil deed was made attractive and he was led astray from the path. Pharaoh's scheme completely came to nothing, it says. Whereas: I will reach the ways of the heavens and see the god of Moses; indeed, I think he is a liar, he said. Thus Pharaoh saw his evil deed as attractive and so went astray from the path. Pharaoh's scheme came to nothing completely.

There's a question, I think.
