Al-Munafiqun 4: When you see them, you like their stature and when they talk, you listen to them. However, they are like the wooden logs, placed up against a wall. If they hear any rumble, they assume it is against them. The real enemies they are. Beware of them. Allah shall take their lives, How do they stray away (from the Truth)?

The misinterpretation

When you see them you like their pattern, if they talk you listen to their words. They are like logs leaning against a wall. They think every noise is against them. They are the enemy. Avoid them. May Allah take their souls. How do they become like this?

The right translation

When you see them, you like their stature and when they talk, you listen to them. However, they are like the wooden logs, placed up against a wall. If they hear any rumble, they assume it is against them. The real enemies they are. Beware of them. Allah shall take their lives, How do they stray away (from the Truth)?

Explanation

This is where this verse goes wrong: How do they become like this. Indeed: How they turn away from the truth.

Allah (swt) knows the secrets of people's hearts. According to the Qur'anic verse, "There is not a single living creature that will come until the Day of Resurrection that we do not know what it will do", when it is asked how they come to this state, the meaning of who are those who deceive these people also emerges, and the situation of who these people follow and come to this state of denial emerges, and a state that our Lord is not fully aware of their state emerges.

The place of origin of such words is that they do not know the meaning of Verse 172 of Surah A'raf. The place that opens as the truth is: "How they turn away from the truth." These are the poor hypocrites who, although they hear the truth, out of pride and arrogance and self-righteousness, insist on disobeying the truth, even though they know the truth.

What is said in the video

Yes, in the fourth verse there is a mistake. When you see them, their figures please you. If they speak, you listen to their words. They are like logs propped against a wall. They think every noise is against them. They are the enemy. Beware of them. May Allah take their lives. How they come to this state, it says. Here it is as if Allah Almighty does not know. What it is, and how they come to this state, it says. Now look: when you see them, their figures please you. Indeed, you look at them like that and think: a handsome person. Sir, a good person. Cheerful, speaks to you very nicely. Sir, their tongues speak very beautifully.

Because their tongues' beautiful speech, meant to make people like themselves, is their speaking to them sincerely and cheerfully. And people are deceived by that sincerity of his. It pleases you. Whereas he is actually your enemy. He looks for your weak spot. Yes.

When you see them, their figures please you. If they speak, you listen to their words. They are like logs propped against a wall. They think every noise is against them. Because they try to read meaning into the sound of a flying fly. They are suspicious. Because these are hypocrites. What they really are is hypocritical people. He comes to you, goes from you to him, and from him talks in that way. 'I wonder, did the one he talked to tell him, and did he tell him?' Beneath the words of every conversation he looks, sir, for something that isn't there.

They are the enemy, beware of them. May Allah take their lives. How they turn away from the truth, it says. How they turn away from the truth. What does it say here? May Allah take their lives, how do they come to this state? (?), yes, how they turn away from the truth. They are people who knowingly denied Allah.
