Explanation
What is said in the video
(?) Now it's facing the right way, God willing. Let's have a look.
Okay, we're on air. Peace be upon you.
Binyamin (?), it starts with Binyamin. Let's make the text a bit bigger here. Right?
Yes. Guest, guest.
Peace be upon you, Hodja. I have a question. I live in Germany. My uncle and I want to buy a house. We need to take a loan from the bank, and of course it has interest. I don't know what to do. Normally what we're told, and all the hodjas I've listened to say, the verse is perfectly clear. They say there is no exception to it.
Others say there is an exception, as much as you need to live in yourself, for taking a loan with interest, he says. Yes.
Now, what counts as interest? How does interest come about? You need to know that. Today a person is in need, you give money, how much, 10 thousand, 15 thousand, the man bargains with you and says I'll charge you 500 lira a night on it. Let's say the man took this for one month: 15 thousand lira in interest, (?) he will pay 15 thousand lira. The interest doesn't let go. Now, the loans the banks give are below devaluation. That is, the money you take is even with the money the bank gave you. Even though it charges you interest on the money it gave, money that is below devaluation, or level with it, carries no interest.
That does not count as interest. Let's say 1% or 0%, 70%, it gave you at interest. And (?), how much? Let's say (?) is 70 to 90. So you are paying 20%, an interest of 0 to 20. How much does the value of the house you bought become? It doubles, triples. In that case, at the price you bought the house, far beyond the interest you paid the bank, you have made a profit. You have made a profit on top. People don't understand these interests, you see. And because they don't understand, they say he consumed interest. Now, consuming interest is something else. The bank is a place that works under the law of the state.
It isn't cheating you. When you take a loan, it looks at your house. It says the interest on this, I mean the loan, I'll give you 300 thousand lira. It says I'll charge you 0.90 percent interest. That is, this is loss of money. More precisely. I mean the bank's interest. We don't really call it interest. There is interest, though. Interest. For example, before this government, before this AK Party led us, there were some bank usurers. There were people taking 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 lira interest per night. Per night. On the money, sir. In that case a house loan hardly counts as interest. You can take it. You can take it on credit.
But deeds depend on intentions. If you end up unable to pay, before going too far, before the bank piles interest on interest, that is, before you make a loss, you put your house up for sale. Whatever the few pennies are, you pay the bank its money. And the money you have paid goes into your own pocket.
The guest says, Hodja, begging your pardon, I want to ask something. In your talk on Saturday, yesterday, you said that if we don't vote for the current government, we would be accountable before Allah. I said it rightly. Use your mind. What should Allah do with those who don't use their minds, with one who doesn't use his mind? This state, no state like this has ever come. I am 85 years old, I have never seen anything like it. Money for the unemployed, homes for those whose homes collapsed. In the world nobody knew our name or face. We were exploited like an African state. And we built a fifth-generation aircraft in the world.
That way we joined the five states in the world. Among five states. And a single man who will be shown as a leader among world leaders. If you squander this, you will fall under this verse of Allah Almighty. Whatever you are, so are the rulers you bring over yourselves, He says. Yes.
(?) has mistakes, but you said that if we don't vote (?), we would be accountable before Allah. Yes. It has mistakes, but in my view those are not mistakes. Because of these words you said, questions formed in my head.
Yes. Let's see what questions formed.
You always say, if I don't speak in the light of the verses, don't listen to me either, don't listen, you say. I said it rightly. And also, don't harbour suspicion against anyone, you can't know what their intention is, you say. That is right too. In this case I haven't heard any words from the Nation Alliance that pose a threat to our homeland. Nor have I heard any statement that contains a threat to our religion. (?) At election time they take women in headscarves beside them, they put on a show for you. Just like the hypocrites did. Look, I'm not calling them hypocrites, but just like the hypocrites did.
They come to us and (?). When they go among themselves they say, we will (?) mock them. There's a verse for you. Look, besides, these are people with foreign mortgages on them in their time, people who serve dark ambitions. What does the man say? Have you never heard? Even if this man had done the finest (?) work in the world, we still wouldn't vote for him, he says. Even if he did the finest work in the world. What does this mean? This state will do the finest work in the world, and he won't vote for it, (?). And what do these men say? We will stop the projects, they say. Look now, we will stop the projects.
Then you'll finish off this state. This state will be finished. And what does the man say? Babacan says it in the, what's it. In the newspaper, today's newspaper. We will take those names, two names (?), he says. When you come, are you a king? You'll take two names right there? What did this man do to you? If he said something, take him to court. He'll get whatever his punishment is. Take him to court now. Nobody is stopping you. Don't these men's speeches make you perceive anything at all? Doesn't this tell you something?
Look, (?) was it Güler? Ergün Güler. Do you know what he said? We used to listen to (?) back then. Ergün Güler, Güler, right? Güler, Güler. Ergün Güler, yes. Anyway, do you know what he said? Not long, he said, five or six months later, over you, he said, a woman will found a party, he said, and he said two of the rich will help her, he said, two of the rich, two people will help, men, people. And there you go, six months later it appeared. You don't have to hear everything spelled out. Open your eyes. If you can't remember the old Turkey, take a look at the events in the world, then see what this state is capable of, and then make your decision. No one can change anyone's destiny, and no one can force anyone to vote.
But just as Allah Almighty, when (?) befell the people of Israel in the Sinai desert, sent David (peace be upon him) as commander and rescued them from that captivity, killed Goliath and freed them from that captivity, so this state rescued us from a mandate government, from a junta government. This state gave you your future, your freedom of speech, your religion, your rights. Did you never see that they wouldn't let headscarved girls study at school? In Morocco, in Tunisia, while they were colonies of England, they had their own children educated, the English, but the children of Morocco, of (?), of Tunisia, of Algeria, whatever, they didn't let them be educated, and they ran things themselves.
Later they won their freedom at the price of blood. The same thing was happening to us. They wouldn't accept the headscarved. With their own people, the people they educated, people of their own mindset, they tried to run the state. The state was no state at all. A (?) state, a show, a post, and going off to other places, gallivanting, people who among themselves, by giving money to media outlets, by being fed from abroad, accepted those men's whole mindset and applied it in this state, for their own fame and glory, for their own interests, living like kings, doing what they wanted however they wanted, giving whom they wanted whatever freedom they wanted and taking it back when they wanted, just like the FETÖ state. The FETÖ state: the prosecutor, the judge, the director, even the police chief were its own.
It was a parallel state, a parallel state. Is that the kind of state you want?
You are still children. You haven't seen anything in the world. This homeland was watered with the blood of our forefathers and given to us as a gift, a state. And the martyrs are alive in the sight of Allah. So letting this homeland, kneaded with the blood of martyrs, be trampled under the feet of dark ambitions is oppression to us. Mercy to the oppressor is oppression to the oppressed. Know this.
There's no need to say more.
You can't know what their intentions are, he says. Look, how much more do you need to know what their intentions are? What are their intentions? We will stop these projects, they say. What were their intentions? With Gezi Park they caused this state seventy percent damage. In one night they smuggled the world's dollars out. In one night they said, treat Kanal Istanbul as if it didn't exist. You won't build the airport, Istanbul Airport, they said. Didn't they say that? What more should their intention be? Commentary. Here you've given your own view off the top of your head.
I haven't heard words from them that pose a threat to our homeland, he says. What is this threat in language? He doesn't have to say I'll sell your homeland. He says I'll stop your projects. He says I'll stop all your construction. What more do you want him to say? You can't grasp the meanings of the words spoken, and since they know this, very nicely, in a way that deceives you, they've mortgaged your minds, so that your minds are mortgaged to them, with speeches, very nicely you (?) them. Look, we used to love Davutoğlu very much. Davutoğlu was a minister from the AK Party. And truly we said this man, for president, I mean in Tayyip's place, I'd choose this man, I said.
But with German Chancellor Merkel, in those (?) actions, in Mardin, I think, right? Where? In Diyarbakır. In house number 23, it turns out, there were Americans, German spies. To rescue them from there, signals together, whatever, between each other, sir, meetings, Merkel coming and going here and so on. If a man throws you bait, there is oppression where he throws that bait, be sure to look for it. Take hold of the arrow the unbeliever shot, because he shoots it to poison you. Take hold of that person, take hold of that town. Yes, he proved to you what he is. If you were such a patriot, if you loved this nation so much, why did you leave the AK Party? Look, it works for the nation.
Ten cities were ruined; people who could not reach a single city of yours are putting ten cities back on their feet. Today you can't show a state in the world that does what this state does. Even the most advanced state, be it America, England or Germany, today, be it France, they don't have a project to put these ten cities back on their feet. They don't. What more do you want?
Yes.
In our religion, shouldn't we take a stand against injustice and wrongdoing, shouldn't we take a stand? What does he say?
In our religion, shouldn't we take a stand against injustice and wrongdoing? You are wrong from top to bottom anyway. Your views are wrong from top to bottom. You are in the wrong from top to bottom. We fulfil the duties of our religion. And you, without this knowledge, without this vision, trying to live in your own fantasy world, or the world in your head, or the fantasy world your nafs longs for, you aren't in a state to see your surroundings, that's why you say these things. If you saw your surroundings, you would never say these words here.
There was a time things got so bad that they rounded us up from here. They handed us over to the Küçükköy gendarmerie station. All night until morning. What for? Supposedly we were reactionaries. Reactionaries. And they took all of us, twenty-nine people, and carried us off. What greater irreligion could there be? All the religious scholars, the leading religious scholars, to Selimiye, without questioning, for three months in prison. Three months. Do you know about any of this? There came a time I wept: O Allah, Your fine servants are in prison and I'm outside; am I not even like these people, I said, have I no rank with You? I was weeping. They took me too, carried me all the way to Küçükköy gendarmerie station. The next morning we came before the judge. He asks me a question, I answer; he asks, I answer; he saw there was nothing in me, and he says to me, you don't want us to join the European Economic Community.
I said, I'm not saying it, Allah says it. Allah is your friend, He says. They are not your friends, He says. They won't take us because we are Muslims. Sir, I'm not saying it, Allah says it.
He says to me, apparently you give sermons. Who would I give sermons to? I don't give sermons. People here ask, and I explain. Is this a sermon? I explain the verses of our religion. Sermons are given by people the state gives certain (?), sir, they give sermons. They prepare the sermon. They deliver it. Now there's much more for you to hear about this. (?) he says, you have mortgaged your mind to them. Everyone has a destiny. We're not going to change your destiny. No one can change anyone's destiny. But there is amr bi'l-ma'ruf, enjoining good. What does He say? Warn people. Tell them the truth. Show them the events.
Then leave the person to himself. Lakum dinukum wa liya din. To you your religion, to me my religion. Since no one can change anyone's destiny, everyone came into this world to prove what kind of person he is. Everyone with the destiny he had written for himself, you know, he had it written at the address Alastu bi Rabbikum. In the world he will play out his destiny like an actor. In the end, when we go, Allah Almighty says (?) so that today no one is wronged, everyone will be given in full what they earned with their own two hands, He says. Whatever you are, you will prove yourself that way. Whatever we are, we will prove ourselves that way.
If we are sinners while explaining it this way, according to the verses of Allah, then as a sinner I will be punished by Allah. If I'm telling the truth and you don't listen to the truth and turn your back, you too will suffer its punishment. What one does is for oneself. We're in no position to punish anyone. Yes. We have a freedom. Our freedom. What is freedom? They have left you free. Free. As you wish, just don't go outside the laws of the state, I mean against them. Apart from that, do what you want. Allah has given you the authority too. I mean the state has given you the authority. Choose whoever you want to lead you.
No one can stop you, but choose by giving the truth its due. Choose by upholding justice. Don't be carried away by the feelings of your nafs. Look now, the one who slandered the wife of the Prophet, our mother Aisha, was the slave whom Abu Bakr as-Siddiq had pensioned. He was the first to spread the slander, and when he learned of it, Abu Bakr as-Siddiq said, I won't give him a pension anymore. He was looking after him, giving him his monthly pay for his retirement. A verse comes down: if a person is in need, it says, don't follow your nafs and cut off his needs, it says. Give him what he needs. And if you follow your nafs, if you get angry at a person, if you betray this homeland, that's your business.
That is within your own character. Everyone will be called to account for what he did. I'm not telling you to vote for the AK Party, vote for this one, vote for that one. You have your freedom, you have a mind. You will see which one does the more right thing. Maybe you're angry at someone, but if truly that man you're angry at, for that state, for that people's state, among those people, will render the best service, sir, then for your own future, for your children, for this state, for your religion, for your honour, your dignity, so that this state does not become a (?) to others, sir, you will find the man who will raise the state and give it to him. That is your duty. I always say this, I always say it here again: if there were a man who would raise this state, who would not interfere with our religion, who would truly raise this state and seat it at a certain (?) among other states, sir, even if he were a communist, I'd give him my vote, I'd even choose him as king over me, even as king. Now, did you understand? Yes.
To people, he says, injustice will be done, (?) can't do injustice, he says, our President's. If he does not stop these while he has the authority to say stop, and we, against this, the injustice done, stop, sir. Look now. Before even going to primary school, before learning to read and write, you're aspiring to be a university student. Now, at one time, I won't say his name, they used to send (?) to France. One of the (?) came to me; do you know what he said? Such laws will come, he said, that we'll long for these laws. They were changing laws overnight. Overnight, and laws that should never be, they brought in among us.
Laws that should never be.
That's why we haven't been able to clean up these laws yet. They're still among us. We can't answer some of them. Only when someone insults a person, maybe because of that insult they file a suit for damages. Otherwise there are such laws that even in the laws of Europe's most backward state, these made-up laws given to us don't exist. That's how they ruined us. We haven't cleaned them up yet. You know the omnibus laws coming out, there are many more omnibus laws. If we are a nation, if we are a nation and all want the laws to change together, if we want to hang the one who (?) this homeland, we want the death penalty, right, execution.
I'm not saying it, look, Allah Almighty says it. What does He say? Look, let me tell you here as well. The Surah Al-Ma'idah I mentioned. Surah Al-Ma'idah, 33. Verse, the surah is Surah Al-Ma'idah. Look what it says. I'm saying it. I'm telling the verses. The verses. I'm showing you a verse. If you still can't wake up, it's your character. So that's in your, what's it. O you who believe. Look what it says. The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive to corrupt the order of truth on earth is only that they be killed without mercy, or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be banished from where they are. For them there is also a great punishment in the Hereafter.
Don't you see the betrayal of this homeland? Don't you hear that they will stop all the projects here? The stopping, sir, of the places that are your lifeline, that will raise you, and those who, saying we said so, (?) the nation to themselves this way, don't you see them? Then shame on you. Yes. The verses are explicit. I don't speak outside the verses. Whoever betrays this homeland, you will hang. Even if he were my father, I'd hang him with my own hand, even if he were my father. Betraying the homeland is betraying your religion, your honour, your dignity, your future, your wife and children. Yes.
As FETÖ said there: the Crusaders, he says, won't touch your wives and daughters, he says. Look, look, the Crusaders. And this man called FETÖ, I said it fifty years ago: this man is sedition, this man is not a Muslim, this man is a hypocrite, I said. I said this fifty years ago. No one gave me any credit. I never say anything without knowledge. I never say anything without knowledge. Yes. What was he to the Pope? Missionary. Missionary. Do you know what a missionary is? Missionary. It means serving him. It means serving that religion. He said, may I be your (?). (?) with the priest. There are gifts the priest gave him.
And there you go.
I have nothing to take from anyone else. (?) What else is there here? There's one more.
Sir. Peace be upon you. Sir. Is wearing a chador the level of piety in covering? A group claims it is the (?) of piety. I kiss your blessed hands, he says. In our language there is nothing saying you will wear a chador. In our language there is nothing saying you will wear a chador. Our language says this: dress so as not to show your contours, it says. What does it say? Dress so as not to show your contours. Today they wear loose covered clothes, and dress according to the times, it says. According to the times. Now, don't put on a chador according to the times and go out like a (?) among people, strangely drawing every gaze onto yourself.
According to the times, how nicely covered. Sir, what do they call it? (?) Turban. Turban. What a nice turban they wear. Sir, they wear a thick coat and so on; underneath she can wear trousers too, but not tight, wide, and over it she wears a long coat. Look how nice, that is covering, this headscarf. Must she wear a chador? There's no such thing; her contours don't show. Now, I'm ashamed to say it, a woman's private parts are on show. The woman is stark naked, the man in very tight trousers, and men too, today homosexuality has also increased greatly. And do you know what the Istanbul Convention is?
The Istanbul Convention. In the Istanbul Convention, woman with woman, man with man, homosexuality, sir, lesbianism, the cause of it. Lesbianism. And they're trying to pass the law for it. So why do we oppose it? Because the people of Lot sank for this, outside Allah's command. And there you go, the people you said would do nothing to your religion will make you pass the Istanbul law. To get one vote they think of neither religion nor homeland nor nation.
Yes. Come to your senses. Yes, we've explained this to you too. We come to our lesson; we had stopped at the 16th verse of Surah Al-A'raf. I'm reading you the wrongly rendered place. Iblis said, then, in return for Your making me go astray, I swear that I will sit on Your straight path, on their way, to lead them astray, it says. Now the rendering of this verse is wrong. Why is it wrong? Because they attribute qualities to Allah Almighty. As I said, there is an attribute here. Allah Almighty is free of all deficient attributes. Allah leads no one astray. He makes no one go astray. What does it say?
In return for Your making me go astray. You went astray yourself. You didn't carry out Allah's command. Allah Almighty told you, prostrate to Adam. You didn't prostrate. Did you prostrate? What is it, Allah Almighty asked you. What did you say? Instead of expressing regret: You created him from clay and me from fire. Fire cleans clay, clay does not clean fire, you said, and, sir, against Allah Almighty you played a word game. And Allah Almighty said to you there, (?), from the great ones, get out of there, you are accursed, He said. Then, he said, give me life until the Day of Judgement too. Here, you are among those given respite, He said.
Whatever he asked, He gave. Why did He give it? If He hadn't given it, could Satan perhaps have put Allah Almighty in a difficult position? A question might come to a person's mind. In that case He said, take it. Whatever he wanted, He gave him. What? What did he say in the end? I will sit in front of Your servants. I will keep them from coming to You. And (?)? Allah Almighty says this as well. Satan does not err in his guess, He says. Why does He say guess? Because la ghayba illallah. Only Allah knows the unseen. Only Allah knows the unseen. In that case he imagined it. I mean, whether he could turn them.
But today there is no one who doesn't follow Satan. There isn't even anyone who doesn't worship Satan. Worshippers. There are worshippers. Yes. There's a person from whose mouth I heard someone say, I'll take revenge on Allah. He'll take revenge on Allah, supposedly. Yes. Ah, ah, seeing this passing world with his eyes, and seeing the swamp of this world like the zaqqum tree blooming in the middle of Hell, seeing the adorned affair of this world, if the world pulls you into its own swamp, Satan too shows you the world adorned, and if your nafs works together with the world and Satan, then of course there is a veil over your eyes; you can't tear those veils open. Yes.
In the guesthouse of a passing world you are not everlasting. You have a Creator, you have a responsibility, and for that responsibility, at the end of your life you will appear before Him. Every soul shall taste death, your return is to Me, He says. Moreover, every soul shall taste death; the inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain to Allah. Allah created; what Allah created will remain to Allah. What they gave you is a trust; this trust is not yours. What was given to you, for a test, given into your hand as evidence, given for your livelihood, is a piece of rag. Tomorrow or the day after, when you die, they will stay in the world.
You will go before Allah, before your Creator, with what you did. Do you never think? How was I created? Do you never think? Yes. You will obey that Creator. We give the correct rendering. Iblis said, then, in return for my going astray, that is, my rebellion, it says now here. The fault is Satan's. This is how we save Allah Almighty from being given attributes. Because Satan himself went astray here. Allah didn't make him go astray. Allah makes no one go astray, because His mercy surpasses His wrath. I too will sit on Your straight path to lead them astray, it says. Yes. The wrongly rendered place in this verse is this.
Then in return for Your making me go astray; whereas the correct one is: then in return for my going astray, my rebellion. There is a mistake here. Allah Almighty makes no one go astray, (?) to no one, does no injustice. Every soul will receive in full the recompense of what it did before the unerring justice of our Lord. If our Lord had made humans and jinn go astray, He would have done injustice among His servants. Also, the people they led astray would have come into a state of feeling a supposed power in themselves against our Lord. Our Lord made a covenant with the communities of humans and jinn and wrote their desires and wishes for them as their destiny.
In that case the communities of humans and jinn cannot doubt our Lord's justice or that He discriminates among His servants. A question has come. What does it say? Peace be upon you, Hodja. So that what we earn by working and save doesn't lose value, putting it in the bank, in a term account, at interest, they call it profit share instead. It's not interest, we put your money to work and give you a share, they say. What should we do about this situation? Is it right to resort to this so our savings don't melt away? Or is it right to turn to foreign currency or gold? How should we understand the saying, put the orphan's money to work so that zakat doesn't melt it away, he says. Now, our Hüseyin, the words you mentioned, we explained them with verses.
Now let's first tell you again about this money calculation. Then, put the orphan's property to work, so that zakat doesn't eat it up, it says. So that zakat doesn't eat it up, it says. Or, as you put it, so that zakat doesn't melt it away, it says. Right. So that zakat doesn't eat it up. Now I'll explain that to you too. First let's address what you said. Yes, there is a (?) in Turkey, and constantly in the world too. There's a constant loss of value of one currency against other currencies. Now, so this value isn't lost, you can buy dollars, you can buy euros. But when we buy these, it goes to the non-Muslims' account, I mean their money gains value. And the state, against those dollars, since it has no dollars in its treasury, the state heads towards (?) here too.
What will you do? Buy gold, gold. Buy gold, put it in the bank. Let it stay in the bank. Let it stay in your bank. It won't lose value. Sir, when you put your money on a term deposit, the halal money you earned yourself, you've had it locked up there. In fact the bank has no need to put your money to work. The bank already has money. It tells you it's a profit share, but that profit share it gives you, it doesn't even cover your (?). It's all a fee given to you within the bank's own accounts. Those who get money from the bank this way bring it and say, I don't want this money. Why don't you want it, son?
I won't mix it with my own money. Then give it to me. I take it. I have a box. I put it in that box. From there people hand out that money. I give it. I don't take it myself, because I don't need money. If I needed money, I would take it. Because it isn't interest. Against the money he deposited: deposit your money, calculate it in dollars or in euros, calculate gold, and a year later calculate the money it gave you, calculate the dollars, the gold. Which is more profitable? Yes. Use your mind; we will always use our minds. Only, don't put your money in dollars and euros, because that harms the state; we are trying with our lives to raise this state in every way. Yes, let's come to zakat. So that zakat doesn't eat it up: the child is an orphan, the child is an orphan. In this case his father has left him an inheritance, either money or land, whatever. Sir, in this case every year, according to the value of that land, he will pay its zakat.
There's no money, so he goes into debt. There's no money, he goes into debt. By the time the child grows up, that zakat wears it away. So it says, the person put in charge of the orphan, that is, you as the guardian, put it to work. If it's a field, work the field. If it's money, put the money to work in trade. From what you earn, if you are poor, it says, you may eat as much as you need. I'm not saying it, mind you. Allah says this. This is a verse. Eat as much as you need, it says. Put the rest on top of the child's own money. And this way, when the child comes of age, it says, test him. If he is able to manage his money, call witnesses.
The witnesses, with witnesses hand over the child's property to the child, it says. How nicely they say it. How beautiful. Yes.
Someone else said something. Hodja, peace be upon you. I kiss your hands. (?)
What does it say here?
For the fasts we couldn't keep in Ramadan, instead of fasting to make them up, counting the number of days and multiplying by the amount Diyanet set that year, is it possible to pay it as money to those in need? For example, someone owes 300 days. That year's fitra amount is 100 lira. Total 3 thousand lira. Owes 300 days. By paying (?) those in need, can the fasting debts be lifted? May Allah be pleased with you. They cannot be lifted.
Why can't they? (?) When you fall ill, you may break your fast, until you recover. When the illness has left you, however many days of fasting in Ramadan you didn't keep, you will fast those days, it says. How nicely it says it. It doesn't let you pay money. Look, your illness has left you. You are healthy. Because you are healthy, you will fast those days.
Your fasting goes on. Say the illness is permanent. You have a permanent illness. Then, if fasting is also against your health, a poor person, (?) a needy one, the daily need, today's Diyanet's set amount is 96 lira, not 100 lira. If your illness is permanent, you calculate. How many days did you fast in Ramadan? 10 days; you didn't fast 20 days. At 100 lira, what does it make? 2 thousand lira. With 300 days you, it makes 30 thousand lira. It doesn't make 3 thousand lira like that. 300 days. Because this is yearly. Sir, 3 thousand lira, what does it make in 20 days? At 100 lira, does it make 600 lira?
No. In 20 days. In 10 days a thousand lira, in twenty days two thousand lira. Two thousand lira; you couldn't fast twenty days, you pay two thousand lira. If your illness is permanent. If your illness isn't permanent, you fast those twenty days like a gentleman. Because Allah Almighty says,
when you are ill, He says, you keep your fast outside Ramadan for the number of days you didn't fast. But, He says, fasting is better for you. Look, so if fasting is better for us, if after Ramadan you have recovered, you can't calculate a hundred lira for each day you didn't fast and give the money for those days to the poor. You'll fast it, you must. Yes.
Yes, there's one more question. Hodja, thank you very much. I was the one who asked the question about voting. I had asked. What does it mean? I understood what you meant. Thinking we would be accountable before Allah, I fell into great distress. I prayed a lot. Through the events around me and through inspiration, my Lord showed me the truth. I understood once more how rightly you spoke, he says. May Allah be pleased with you.
We are carrying out the command of Allah Almighty.
Do amr bi'l-ma'ruf to those who go crooked, He says. Look how nice. Amr bi'l-ma'ruf. We, first with the hand, it says, look. If your hand isn't enough. (?) Now there is freedom for everyone. With our tongue; if the tongue isn't enough, detest it with your heart, it says. We try to explain to people with our tongue. Everyone's will is his own. May Allah be pleased with you for seeing the truth. For my being the cause of your seeing the truth. Or, in return for Allah Almighty giving you a fine faith, and within that faith, the love of the zeal you felt for Allah Almighty's verses, in return for that, may Allah be pleased with you too.
Yes.
We continue with our lesson.
Surah Al-A'raf, Surah Al-A'raf, the 27th verse is where we've come to. I'm reading the wrongly rendered one. Yes, my throat gets dry sometimes, let me drink something here.
O children of Adam, the devils, as Satan drove your parents out of Paradise, stripping off their clothes to show them their shameful parts. Who is this? Our father Adam. Pardon? Your parents, it says. As he drove them out of Paradise, stripping off their clothes to show them their shameful parts, let him not deceive you, it says. Yes, he deceived. We say our heart aches sometimes for this. The person who ignores these verses and forgets his Creator for the whims of his nafs, who does not reckon how he will give account before Him tomorrow, who does not call himself to account in conscience between Allah and himself, the person who, without using his mind, follows his nafs and chases after Satan and the world.
This part of us aches as human beings.
For he and his followers see you from where you cannot see them. Surely We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe, it says. This part is wrong. The last part is wrong. Allah makes no one the friend of his enemy. Look, it also contradicts this verse. Which one? You know, we made a covenant with Allah Almighty. You know, Allah wrote our desires and wishes as our will, wrote them as our destiny. So now what does it say here? (?) We make friends, it says. Since I cannot step outside my destiny, if I were to step outside my destiny, Allah Almighty: they set a trap. I too set a trap.
Since He says We are the best of those who set traps, what does this mean? When I'm about to step outside my destiny, Allah Almighty sets a trap that will put me back into my destiny, and within that trap I live my own destiny. I will have entered my own destiny. The other side's trap is foiled, and within my own destiny I try to prove what kind of person I am. So now, would Allah Almighty make Satan our friend here? How wrong. Yes. We have made them friends of those who do not believe, it says. These footnotes of the wrongly rendered verses, this is the (?). Whoever denies these, a verse, whoever denies a verse becomes an unbeliever. A single verse.
Yes.
Now we'll read you the correct one. Yes. O children of Adam! Let Satan not deceive you, as he drove your parents out of Paradise, stripping off their clothes so that their shameful parts showed to them. For he and his followers see you from where you cannot see them. Surely the devils (?) of those who do not believe in Allah are the friends. The devils (?) are the friends of those who do not believe in Allah.
The person whose faith is weak, who has become a captive of the whims of his nafs, who has let himself be swept into the swamp of the world, takes Satan as his guide. He follows the path of his temptation.
Yes. The wrongly rendered place in this verse is this. Surely We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe, it says. Whereas the correct one is: surely the devils are the friends of those who do not believe in Allah. When people rendered the verses, they always did it by impairing Allah Almighty's creative attribute and His justice. Now all these wrongly rendered places have always blamed Allah.
(?) likes it too. Of course, the unbeliever has gone astray anyway. He's Satan's friend. Yet he doesn't say, would Allah ever make them friends? If Allah made them friends, then that is Allah's will; he too befriended him, he says, he has done what Allah did. Why should he be a sinner? He doesn't think of this. Yet with all the deeds we bring about by our own will, when we do even a deed as small as an atom flying in the air, reward and sin are written for us. Fa man ya'mal mithqala dharratin khayran yarah. Wa man ya'mal mithqala dharratin sharran yarah. So if Allah was going to make these friends, Satan and man, why does He tell us these things in this verse?
They have always rendered these wrongly. They have always blamed Allah. They never attributed even an atom of fault to people. And people have come to today's state. Allah alone knows the burden of those who wrote these this way. Yes.
Yet our Lord is free of deficient attributes. If our Lord was going to make people and devils the friends of those who do not believe, why did our Lord, as Creator, programming everything according to His own desire and will, put partial free will in our hands? Why did He put partial free will in our hands? If He was going to make them friends. If He Himself made the Muslims Muslims. And if He Himself made the Christians Christians. And Allah Almighty chose. Then why did He send us into the world? Isn't it so?
Why did He make a covenant with us? This befits neither our Lord's glory, nor His greatness, nor His justice. To His servants into whose hands He gave partial free will, according to their own desires and wishes, without applying any pressure, force or fear, He wrote their desires and wishes for them as destiny. And the reason we come into the world is that, as our Lord is free of deficient attributes, in accordance with Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134, in accordance with the meaning of that verse, so that people would ask our Lord questions, Allah Almighty, using His attribute of Godhood, sent us into the world.
And by proving what kind of people we are, so that we would have no ground to speak or ask against our Lord, everyone will be sent to the place they deserve. Yes.
Is there a question?
Over there? This one? Peace be upon you, Hodja. I saw a video on social media. A hodja said that a tattoo is not an obstacle to the ghusl. What does dövme mean? Tattoo, tattoo. A tattoo is not an obstacle to the ghusl, he said. A tattoo is made under the skin, while ablution is obligatory on top of the skin. That's why a tattoo is not an obstacle to ablution, he said. Is this hodja right, Hodja? I thought I'd ask you. That hodja said something off the top of his head; people who give fatwas according to their own reasoning. One man says this. A person who runs everything by his own reasoning is like a legless man with an artificial leg.
Something he did yesterday, he tries to change today. These too are fatwas they gave according to their own reasoning. Now I'm asking you. How nice. You're asking. Very nice. In the ghusl, it says, if a dry spot the size of a needle's hole, or its tip, were left, your ghusl is not valid. Why? You couldn't get clean. The reason? Let me explain one more thing to you. Then we'll move on to the tattoo. It says, when a person climaxes in the moment of lust, there's no shame in our language, when a person climaxes, through these holes of our body, through the holes in the skin, we breathe out.
Out of these skins, through those holes the size of a needle's tip, impurities come out. Impurities. The impurities in the body. So if a dry spot the size of a needle's hole remains on your body, because that impurity isn't cleaned from there, you are still in a state of janabah. So now I'm asking you. He didn't get a tattoo, he got it painted. He painted it. The holes are closed. When we paint, some spots don't close, but it becomes shiny. The holes are closed. Your janabah stayed under it. You are impure. You are unclean. How can you give a fatwa? With what mind do you give a fatwa?
Yes. You are in janabah. Janabah. You go around in janabah.
You can't get any paint done, nor can you get a tattoo. What they saw from the non-Muslim, the unbeliever, out of the pride of the nafs, or by imitating them, seeing a selfhood in themselves, they started getting tattoos. They get them done even on their private parts.
That's what we hear.
If we come to the verse: whoever imitates them is like them. There you go. Couldn't Allah adorn you (?)? Yes. He created you as the most honoured of the universe.
You created me in the finest form, it says. Yes.
May Allah reform them.
These are not hodjas. People in the guise of hodjas who will (?) people in religion. At one time in Fatih, maybe I don't go now, I'm old, I was young then, they used to teach there section by section, in the Fatih Mosque. There's a section somewhere. I went there too and sat down. I saw that the hodja there was the hodja of the İsmailağa Mosque at the time.
The man is telling false, wrong things.
I didn't like it. Hodja, I said. I don't know the man, though. Hodja, I said. Now, I'm not saying it from my own head; I mean, I said to him, Hodja, I have a hodja, I said. My hodja, about what you just said, I said, explained it like this in light of this verse, I said. When I said that, he slowly came over to me. He came. No way, he said, and went for me right here. Like this. Next to me there was a (?) young man. The way he went for him, he was about to hit the man; I held his hand.
It turns out the boy says to me, uncle, he says, young, a young man he was. This hodja told falsehoods, he says; I wondered whether I'm the one who knows it wrong, whether I'm wrong, I was distressed, he says, I was distressed, he said. Distressed. And when you said so, he said, when you spoke the truth, he said, and he went for you, I couldn't bear it, he said, I was going to hit him, he said. There you go. Hodjas like this. This, Hodja. When he said it, one of the hodjas had worked as a hodja. Not a hodja, though. A non-Muslim had worked as a hodja. He said, to three thousand hadiths I'll add three thousand.
If there's a brave man, let him clean them out, he said. Look now. What does it say here? Hand me one of them. Look. I sifted out seven thousand three hundred hadiths. Seven thousand three hundred. That narration is mine, I said. I'll add to your hadiths, I said. In the places Ufuk Marmara calls hadith, look, red, I say it isn't a hadith. I say it isn't a hadith. Look, I say it is a hadith. I say it is a hadith. The green ones are hadith, I say. Look. There are red ones. I say they are not hadith. Hadith corresponds to the verses. They are words corresponding to the verses of the Qur'an. Yes. Put it back.
Yes.
Seven volumes of hadith. 7,300 hadiths. Yes. Look, here too, here too, 8 volumes of the Asr-ı Saadet Qur'an Turkish translation and tafsir, 8 volumes, not according to the (?), but according to the word of the Truth, the hadiths and things, the verses rendered.
Yes. Look, here too, here too, (?). Take this and read it. (?) you'll understand where you stand. Look, (?) verses. In all of them a verse. For everything we say, a verse. For everything we say there are verses. Pages and pages full of verses. For everything we say. We don't speak idly.
Our time is up. We haven't prayed the evening prayer, gentlemen. Let's close this here. Stay well. Go with Allah. For the sake of Allah Almighty, al-Fatiha.
