What is said in the video
May Allah keep you safe.
We read this one, I think, didn't we? Aynur, Aycanur, saying 'Hodja, peace be upon you,' (?) from repentances for spouses who break.
We read these.
Let's refresh from here. Let's see if there are any questions.
Yes. Yes.
Aycanur says: Hodja, similar to Ms. Derya's question but different: when people buy a house or a car, or when they have a child, they shed blood so that it wards off accidents and misfortune, and they also hold mawlids. Are these (?), Hodja? May Allah be pleased with you.
Now, if a person buys a house or a car, he slaughters a sacrifice of thanks. We call this a sacrifice of thanks.
Shedding blood counts as charity. He feeds people, he distributes meat.
A little charity, (?) much, wards off afflictions, wards off calamities. If it is a calamity you are to be tested with, it passes lightly. So when you buy a car like this, when you buy a house, there is benefit in slaughtering a sacrifice of thanks. At the very least, when you slaughter the sacrifice for Allah, because you slaughtered it, you get a reward. That is the best. No other questions.
If you have questions, tell us. If people are coming, let's give them time.
Tonight is the Night of Ragha'ib.
If we start the talk a bit later, it will be more useful. Those who come will benefit. Meanwhile, whoever has a question, let them ask it. Let's answer their question.
Nobody is asking a question either. No questions.
Let's see if there are questions up there.
from up there let's see whether there are any questions
Yes, no questions.
Tonight is the Night of Ragha'ib; for all of us, for the whole world, for the whole Ummah of Muhammad, we pray to Allah that it be a means of good.
Ragha'ib comes from 'rağbet', favor. We say favor comes from favor, but what favor is, we don't know. Who favors whom? What favor? Nobody has any proper knowledge about it.
(?)
It is a night in which Allah Almighty shows favor to people; He bestows favor on people. How does this happen?
Why should Allah Almighty favor man?
Why did Allah Almighty create man?
He was a hidden treasure. He willed to be known. That is, He was a treasure of knowledge. He was alone in the universe. Before creating the universe, He subsisted by His Essence. Existing by Himself. He has neither beginning nor end. He wanted to create a being that knows His Essence. That knows His Essence.
So Allah Almighty, separating a part of His Essence, created the soul of the Prophet, and from his soul He created the souls of the prophets, and from the souls of the prophets He created the souls of the peoples. Why did He create them? He created them so that people would know Him. Now, tonight is the Night of Ragha'ib. That is, a night in which Allah Almighty shows favor to people. What kind of favor is this?
Because Allah Almighty gave of His spirit only to man in the universe, He created man honored above the worlds. People are honored above the worlds. And He created no being more exalted than man. In this case, because Allah Almighty gave man of His spirit, it is an evening on which He invites man to His Essence. Like what? He invites all people to His Essence. Just as when He first created them. When He created the souls in the realm of Lahut and said 'I am your Lord', people, in knowing or not knowing Allah Almighty, were divided into three groups. Those who knew are those on the right, fe ashâbü'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbü'l-meymeneh.
Those on the right are those who know there is no god but Allah Almighty. Those on the left, ve ashâbü'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbü'l-meş'emeh. Those on the left are those who deny Allah. Those who expect a Lord according to their own fancies. The third is the class of the muqarrabin. Now tonight Allah Almighty opens the door of repentance to those who know His Essence and those who don't, and in return for a value He gives them, invites them to His Essence; it is such an evening.
Because He gave people a part of His spirit, because He created people honored, He says: if you seek honor and dignity, honor and dignity are with Allah. Look, there is a verse here. Let me tell it to you now.
Look, here.
Surah An-Nisa, verse 139. Let's see what it says here.
An-Nisa 139.
Those who take the unbelievers as friends instead of the believers, do they seek honor, power and dignity with them? Let them know that all honor belongs to Allah alone. So, having created man honored above the worlds, people who know their Lord are, in the sight of Allah, people of honor and dignity. Those who have honor and dignity, let's try to illustrate them with an example: a sultan calls his subjects to him; to those of his subjects who, in good manners and courtesy, follow the sultan's orders, that sultan shows special treatment. He shows favor to them.
Likewise, people who have become servants of Allah and the Ummah of His Beloved should not, tonight, be like others who say 'holy night' and 'I'm celebrating the holy night' without knowing what it is. The Sultan of the worlds, the Sovereign of the worlds, invites you to His Essence, and with your being a Muslim, with your manners and courtesy, with your drawing near to Allah, comes the honor and generosity Allah Almighty has shown you. So honor and generosity, and dignity, are with Allah.
People, on such a precious evening, without knowing that they themselves are such precious people, go from mosque to mosque for the holy night and don't know what it is. Yes, go around, go around again. Go around, but at least a little, try to grasp the state of your own place, your own existence. Don't just say 'Ragha'ib' and pass it by. People who have become servants of Allah Almighty's Essence and the Ummah of His Beloved, whom Allah Almighty today, this evening, invites to His presence and to whom He shows honor and generosity: that is the Night of Ragha'ib, the evening of favor. Allah Almighty, to people — to those who do not fall short in manners and courtesy toward Allah Almighty and do what He says, Allah Almighty shows honor and generosity. So this is favor: honor and generosity.
Otherwise it isn't favor; wandering and roaming without knowing the meaning of favor isn't bad either, but knowledge — knowledge is knowing, he says; knowledge is knowing oneself. If you don't know yourself, what kind of knowledge is this, he says.
Now, about the people Allah Almighty favors, in the verses — look, it's written here. It says (?).
In Surah Fatir — look what it says now here in Surah Fatir. Let's look here, where is Surah Fatir?
Well, 592. On that page. Yes.
which verse, it says, let's see, let's see In verse 10. Let's see what Allah Almighty says in Surah Fatir, verse 10. Whoever wants honor and dignity, let him know that honor and dignity all belong to Allah. Only good words ascend to Him. How beautifully He says it. Good words. That is, one who doesn't fall short in manners and courtesy, who knows Allah Almighty and fulfills what He says — and righteous deeds, He raises them too. As for those who plot evil, for them there is a severe punishment, and their plotting comes to nothing. Now here, in Surah Fatir, 35. In the verse, well, no. In 35, verse 10.
(?) Elsewhere, from Surah Al-Hijr, verse 29, look what it says now. Let's look at Al-Hijr. Well.
Al-Hijr.
If I saw it right, Surah Al-Hijr. Which verse? Verse 29.
When I have shaped him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down in prostration before him at once, He says. Look, Allah Almighty gives His spirit, which He gave to no one in the universe, only to man. And what does it say here? Well, when I have breathed into him of My spirit, of My spirit, of My Essence, fall down at once in prostration before him, He says. That is, in the universe, in these seven heavens, among what one narration says are 17–18 thousand worlds, the spirit He gave to no one He gave to man, and He made man close to His Essence. The Quran, His Word, He gave to people. Although He gave it to no one else.
He spoke with people. If man knew his own place in the sight of Allah, he would neither walk around naked like this, nor deceive this one and that one like this, nor take a life, rightly or wrongly, nor look down with contempt on those below him.
Every person is a servant created by Allah. Through the deeds he does, his rank in the sight of Allah either rises or falls.
That's why man in our time, because he doesn't know his own exaltedness, his own place, wanders around in a miserable state. People who have made misery their banner, in truth, from their troubles of the heart, their inner unrest, and their frantic rush — I'm giving a lesson. Talk to you later, inshallah. Okay. Agreed. Okay.
What were we saying? When they are in a frantic rush.
When people are in a frantic rush, because they are far from Allah, they have fallen apart.
I can even say this, according to this verse:
they have lost their humanity. According to which verse am I saying it? They are like four-legged animals roaming the earth. Even lower than that, it says. In this case, people who have left their humanity, who have lost their humanity, who know nothing of the thing called conscience,
who don't know their Creator and are deceived by this outward world their eyes see — are they any different from animals? The animal is the same. Maybe the animal is even better than him. Why better? Because the animal fulfills the purpose of its creation. Every animal is charged with the work it is to do; it does its duty. But man, although he was created (?) within his own will, although he knows he was created by a Lord, the trap of Satan, the beautiful look of the world, the enmity of his nafs toward him have carried him away and pushed him down the cliffs.
Where he fell from the cliff, into a swamp though he is stuck, still seeing himself as something, though he is sinking, though he is drowning there, saying 'I am!' — the man carried away by the whims of his nafs. 'One who doesn't know where he came from and where he goes is an animal,' as Yunus Emre said — people who live according to those words.
So our wish is that man should know the purpose of his creation. Allah Almighty tonight invites all people to His Essence, but some, those on the left, His Essence they deny and turn away from Him, or associate partners with Him. And some people, though they know His Essence, live within their own whims. So man must know the worth of humanity and tonight, by the Owner of the worlds, he must be worthy of the respect shown to him. Yes. He must be worthy of (?). Now, I gave an example. A sultan invites his servant and his subjects to himself. Some come in a casual, disrespectful way. Some come chatting about this and that.
And some come into the sultan's presence and listen to what he says. That's the difference. A Muslim either spends this night casually or spends it chattering here and there, wandering around, so to speak. And some, with worship to their Lord, knowing that man is the most honored being Allah created, according to the verse 'every soul shall taste death, our return is to Allah', worship as if in the presence of Allah Almighty. That is man's sense of humanity, his love for his Lord, and his knowing the worth of this night. Our wish is that people not be heedless of the worship they do, and that they be illuminated by the light of this night; to His Essence Allah Almighty invites people; those people should worship knowing they are in their Lord's presence, and know their place and live with dignity.
There is nothing that gives man as much peace as living with dignity. Because that person knows that lying is not good, backbiting is not good. Well, deceiving people is not good. Looking at people with mercy, showing them respect as much as he can, guiding them with Allah's verses to bring them out of darkness into light. These are the things that make man human, that exalt man. Our wish is that people, with this, (?) together with Allah, by fulfilling both worldly and otherworldly duties, adorn our life with a righteous and beautiful living until we go to the hereafter.
Stay well. May Allah keep you safe. If you have problems, if there are questions, your questions we will answer.
Yes. We'll refresh here, and then it will come. We refresh here with every question.
Peace be upon you, Hodja. New Year's celebrations: are they permissible for a Muslim, Hodja? I kiss your hands. New Year's celebration is not permissible for a Muslim. Because of the verse 'do not follow them'. Because of the verse 'do not envy them'. With New Year, non-Muslims, through the invention of Father Christmas, say he supposedly helped people. Well, he would come, presents were given to them. A Muslim has no need for a Father Christmas. A Muslim needs Allah. If man is with Allah — the non-Muslims, living in unrest, in a frantic state, unable to find peace, people whose hearts are in fear, this evening with their merrymaking giving themselves life, stamping themselves as 'living' for one evening — that is, whatever they live, that's what it is. We have no need for it.
We are people constantly illuminated by our Lord's light, governed by His command, and living in peace on the straight path of His friends that He showed. Living in unrest — the non-Muslim, because he envies our peace, has tried to instill this in us too. Look, New Year's Eve: are you looking for fornication? Looking for someone who gambles away his home, his household, his kids, his wife?
Looking for someone who leads in drinking and gambling? Is this Islam? But the non-Muslim takes pride in this. Tonight I lived, he says. There are chasms between the two. That's why we have nothing to do with New Year. We have to do with one New Year. That is the Hijri New Year. Yes.
Let's see now when our New Year is. Our New Year is when the Prophet (peace be upon him) migrated from Mecca the Honored to Medina the Radiant. Yes.
Our Hijri New Year is on 26 June. Our New Year is there. On our New Year we pray. We send abundant blessings and peace upon the Prophet. As much as we can, we do good deeds that day. Look at the unbeliever's New Year, and look at our New Year. Yes. Let me see what else, who's saying what.
A friend asked: in prayer, why do we do the recitation not in bowing or prostration, but standing? May Allah be pleased with you, I kiss your hands. Why do we do the recitation standing? Do you have a teacher to tell you this? He'll say: the Prophet prayed that way. That way, well, we also do the recitation standing.
The reason the recitation is done standing: from Allah Almighty, constantly repeating our Lord's word: I have accepted. Face to face — where are you? You are on the Mi'raj. On the Mi'raj. What is the Mi'raj? In the presence of Allah Almighty, by reciting verses and surahs, submitting to what your Lord said, accepting what He said — in that sense, upright before Him, it says; standing upright before Allah Almighty, do your recitation. Then you say, I have bowed to what You said, and you go into bowing. O my Lord, I have accepted what You said. You: Subhane Rabbiyel Azim. You are the greatest of the mighty, the rich and the pure.
After that you rise.
You say, my Lord saw me. You stand for a while. You say, praise be to my Allah. You go into prostration. In prostration, again, you say: I glorify Allah Almighty with His highest attributes, and there you confirm what you said. That's why the recitation is standing. The surahs you recite standing, you confirm with bowing and prostration.
Yes. That is its confirmation.
Is there anything else? It's not coming here. If there's anything else, let them say.
One, two minutes we will keep our site open. Those asking questions, let them ask. Let's answer their questions. Otherwise, the isha prayer time has come, hasn't it? We'll pray the isha prayer and end tonight's talk. yes now Let's see what it says in verse 91 of Surah Al-Anbiya Surah Al-Anbiya (?) Let's see what Al-Anbiya verse 91 says
Well. Well.
And remember Mary, who guarded her chastity and honor. We breathed into her of Our spirit. We made her and her son a lesson for all the worlds, it says. So, favor to whom? Now this is understood even better here: favor to whom? Remember Mary, who guarded her chastity and honor; We breathed into her of Our spirit. Into her, of Our spirit. To whom? To Jesus. He breathed of His spirit. Well, We made her and her son a lesson for all the worlds, it says. And the creation of Jesus is like that of Adam, it says. Being created without a man's hand touching, and being created honored above the worlds. These.
So man will know his humanity. Ragha'ib means, it means favor, it means Allah Almighty showing favor to those He created. And this is a great (?). Receiving them warmly, fulfilling their wishes. As we said earlier: people who come to a sultan's presence approaching him with manners and courtesy, with respect and love, is one thing. Coming casually and wandering shamelessly around that sultan is another.
So our mother Mary, and Jesus too, with manners and courtesy: 'who guarded her chastity and honor', it says. That is, with manners and courtesy, with honor and dignity, in a state befitting humanity, without compromising on Allah Almighty's command, by fulfilling His command — that's favor — they were exalted. We are human too; what's our difference from them? We have no difference. To them a part of His spirit, to us a part of His spirit. But they are people who submitted to Allah. We are people who submit to our own nafs. There is a very great difference between them. That's why the enmity the nafs does to man, that is, the enmity one does to oneself, even the two worlds coming together could not do.
That's why man will know the purpose of his creation; the world, the field of the hereafter, he will build up accordingly, and in his hereafter, not (?) Paradise, hoping to meet his Lord beautifully, he will worship Allah Almighty. Yes. In another verse, in Surah As-Sajdah, verse 9, let's see what it says here. Allah Almighty always tells how exalted people are. Surah As-Sajdah.
The ninth verse. Then He completed and shaped him, breathed into him of His own spirit, and created for you ears, eyes, hearts. How little you give thanks, it says. Allah Almighty always proves that He created man as a part of His Essence. I gave you a spirit from My Essence, He says, from My Essence. So if man knew his humanity, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, he would laugh little and weep much.
And as a person matures, that is, while rising in the spiritual realm, such states pass that it's impossible for me to tell. And that person does not set people apart from himself. But when people live outside Allah's commands, he also sees them by (?), what state they are in. Yes. What else does it say here? Surah At-Tahrim, verse 12. Let's look at that too, what it says.
Surah At-Tahrim.
At-Talaq, 585. What is it? It says Tahrim. Tahrim, yes.
Tahrim Surah, let's see what verse 9 says — no, Tahrim, verse 12. (?) who guarded — Imran's daughter Mary too, Allah set forth as an example, an example to whom? To the worlds, to people He set her as an example; We breathed into her of Our spirit, and she confirmed her Lord's words and books; she was among the devoutly obedient. So now, would Allah not show favor to such servants? I'm telling you, would He not favor them? O My servant, come, let's see, what do you want? Is there a wish? A desire? While you were in the world, though you didn't see Me with your own eyes, you believed in Me unseen; you didn't step outside what I said.
Glad tidings to you. Today, what your heart desires is yours, He says. Isn't this favor? Why doesn't man know this place of his, and walks around stark naked outside Allah's command, why does he lead in fornication, why does he swindle people and take their blood? As I just said, they are like four-legged animals roaming the earth. Man was created honored; he will know his honor. In Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 110, let's see what it says. Al-Ma'idah.
Surah Al-Ma'idah. Surah At-Tawbah.
On page 105. Further back. On page 105.
(?) Al-Ma'idah. Verse 110. Right? We said 110, I think. before you the prophet prophets too were mocked; therefore those who mocked them — the thing they mocked encompassed the mockers as punishment, it says. Yes, now man, as a human being the created one knowing that he was created — and everyone knows they were created — though created, forgetting the One who created him, how can he, to his Lord who laid so many blessings before him and created him honored above the worlds, turn his back and lead in disobedience to Him?
And once a year, on the Night of Ragha'ib, he supposedly celebrates his holy night. Come on, you lied, you backbit, you didn't pray, you didn't fast, so to speak, you drank, you gambled, you committed fornication, then you'll come and celebrate the holy night, saying it's the Night of Ragha'ib. Ah, if you celebrate the holy night in this way, you have lived. If you repent of your past sins and say, 'My Allah, I lived a time of ignorance, forgive me', you will find Allah Almighty, with His attribute Tawwab, as the One who greatly accepts repentance. Stay well. Are there two questions? Then we'll refresh here.
Yes. It came.
Peace be upon you, sir. When we read a verse of prostration while reading the Quran, we are required to prostrate at once. But if we have no way to prostrate where we are, what should we do? May Allah be pleased with you, I kiss your hands. It's beneficial to prostrate right away. But there's no rule that you must prostrate right away. But the prostration has become obligatory upon you. For example, at prayer times, prayer is obligatory upon you. It's not required that you pray right away when the call to prayer is recited. Until the next time — let's say the call to the noon prayer was recited.
Right away the prayer is performed in the mosque. You're not going to go there as a requirement, as an obligation, are you? But if you go there, you get twenty-seven rewards. Well, if you pray alone, you get one reward. Wherever you are, until the afternoon prayer you pray the afternoon — the noon prayer. You've fulfilled the obligation. Prostration is like this too. If you have the (?) means right away, you do it. It's not hard. You say Allahu Akbar and go into prostration. After saying Sübhâne Rabbiye'l-A'lâ three times, Semi'nâ ve eta'nâ gufrâneke Rabbenâ ve ileyke'l- masîr, you say, and you get up.
You don't say the takbir; without takbir. (?) you sit down and read the Quran again. No, the place isn't suitable. Read and finish; when you come to a suitable place, you do the prayer — your prostration. What's more, Satan makes you forget. A day later, two days later you remember. Ah, I had a prostration due on me, you say. You make up your prostration. And fine. It doesn't really have a make-up anyway. 'I have intended to perform the recitation prostration remaining on me,' you say. You're glad. You do your prostration. Yes. This is the verse of prostration while reading the Quran. There's one here. Peace be upon you, sir.
The other day such a situation came up. At home we prayed the isha prayer in congregation with the children. Mashallah. May Allah be pleased with you. But during the meal a sore in my mouth burst. Forgetting this, I prayed and led as imam. Later, when I remembered, I said I have ablution and did not pray again. But at night in my dream I saw that I hadn't prayed my isha and that, when I got up, I prayed it again. When I got up at night, I prayed the isha again. Do those who followed me in congregation also need to pray it again? May Allah be pleased with you, I kiss your hands. Now you — deeds depend on intentions.
The sore in your mouth burst. It burst, but did blood come out? Did you see it? Where did it go? Was this sore pus? Or was it even blood? You didn't see anything, but the sore burst.
In this case, let's say you're a mosque imam. A mosque imam. The congregation behind you took off and left. Whom will you reach to tell this? No. The prayer they performed is complete. You repeat yours. That's it. You may even not pray it like this, if you want. Because when a place of yours bleeds, a place of yours — that if it spread as much as the tip of a needle, your ablution is broken. That's one. If you didn't see it, didn't see blood or such in your mouth, so that even if blood had flowed, if you want your heart to be at peace, with the intention of the Shafi'i school, with the Shafi'i intention, you may also not pray your prayer.
That's the Shafi'i intention done. Yes.
Anything else here? No. Alright. Stay well. May Allah keep you safe. Lillahi Teala'l-Fatiha.
Elhamdülillahi Rabbil Alemin.
