Translation

Oh sons of Israel! Remember the provisions I have given to you. Also remember that (by creating you as human beings,) I have exalted you above the worlds.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) bestowed many favors on the Children of Israel. He rescued them from the oppression of Pharaoh, fed them with the food of paradise in the land of Tih, raised Mount Tur for shade over them and brought them safely to the city of Jerusalem. Nevertheless, some of them did not do what Allah said and turned away from Allah. By saying, "Remember My Blessings which I have bestowed upon you," He says, "We declare Our Verses to you in this way, lest there should be some among you who would obey Allah, and you should say, 'We did not hear, we would have obeyed you if you had heard us.

I have created you as human beings and made you address to my God. I have created you as the equal of all the creatures I have created, and you should make supplication to your Lord for your creation in this way. Praise and worship. Allah (swt) says, if We had wanted, We could have created you in other forms, We could have subjected you to all kinds of sorrows and afflictions, and after all the value We have given you, do you still turn away from your Lord? Allah's bounty is great, His forgiveness is abundant. He does not turn away those who return to Him, who repent, otherwise we will have ruined our afterlife.

This

too is a wrongly translated verse; let's look at this one too — where is its error? Verse 122.

I read the wrong version: 'And beware of that day when no one can pay anything for anyone.' Correct. 'No ransom is accepted from anyone.' This is correct too. 'No intercession benefits anyone.' 'And they will be helped from no side.'

This part is wrong. Let's read this.

What number is this? We read 23. Let's read 22.

O Children of Israel! Remember My blessing that I bestowed on you, and that I once made you superior over all the worlds, it says. That is, Allah Almighty, among people, the Jews, the Children of Israel — among His creatures, over all the worlds He made them superior. That's what they slip in here. They slip this verse in here too. That is, they change the Word. 'We are the noblest of people.' 'We are superior. Other people are our servants,' they say. Because what does it say?

Remember the blessing I gave you and that I once made you above all the worlds, it says. So Allah Almighty once made them superior, and now has He made them low? They — verse 172, verse 172 in Surah Al-A'raf — denying it, casting it behind them, interpreted by their own minds, this verse. Whereas: O Children of Israel, remember My blessings that I gave you. Remember that by your creation as human beings I made you superior over the worlds, it says. By your creation as human beings, that I made you superior over the worlds — remember it.

Well, since he changed this verse this way, is there such a verse — is there a verse that people were made the most noble over all the worlds? There is. What is it?

I created man in the most beautiful form, it says. Yes.

Is there another verse? There is. If you seek might and honor, might and honor are with Allah, it says. So, might and honor: people who do what Allah says are honored above the worlds. Because the others are like four-legged animals roaming the earth.

Yes. How can you change this verse like this?

They have turned the Quran into the Torah. Turned it into the Gospel. When I said this (?), the man jumped from his seat. (?) (?), I said. You have made it worse than the Torah, I said.

You have made it worse than the words slipped into the Gospel and the Psalms, he said. You said this. The man's head was down. They know it themselves. Well, if you occupy that office, and you know that this too was translated wrongly like this — knowingly aren't you falling under this verse of Allah? Those who sell Allah's word for material gain. If you covet this world's rank and office, its money, and knowingly see Allah's verse translated wrongly and stay silent — the one who stays silent in the face of the truth is a devil. Allah Almighty bestowed on the Children of Israel many favors and blessings.

He saved them from Pharaoh's tyranny, in the desert of Tih with heavenly food He fed them, raised Mount Sinai above them as a shade, and brought them safely to the city of Jerusalem. Yet a group among them did not do what Allah said. They turned away from Allah. By saying 'remember My blessings I gave you', perhaps some among you who will obey Allah will appear, so that you would not say: '(?), had You made it known to us, we would have obeyed You' — thus We make Our verses clear to you, He declares. I created you as human beings and made you My addressees. Of all the creatures I created, I created you as the noblest of creatures.

And for being created this way, pray to your Lord. Give praise and thanks. Allah Almighty: had We willed, We would have created you, your forms, in other forms as well. We would have plunged you into every kind of pain, grief and calamity. After all the worth We have given you, do you still turn away from your Lord?

Allah's grace and bounty are vast. His pardon and forgiveness are abundant. He does not turn away whoever returns to Him and repents. Otherwise we will have ruined our end, that is, our hereafter. Yes.
