Tafsir
People come to the realm of property in order to fulfill their covenant with Allah (swt) within a lifetime and to prove what kind of a person they are and then leave. Our Lord reminds us that people will be questioned on the Day of Judgment in the Court-i Kübra and says: "Beware of that day when no one will be able to pay anything to anyone".
If people forget the revelation of Allah, indulge in the pleasures of the world, act as if death does not exist, do not pay attention to halal and haram, disobey Allah's commands, deny the Verses, and if such people end their lives in this way, they will go away as disbelievers, and on the Day of Reckoning, they will be left alone and desolate in the presence of Allah (Alaysallahu bi ahkamil hakimin) who says, "Your good deeds have all been in vain", and they will not be interceded for.
People without faith are all alone in the Hereafter. Even if this person has the wealth of the world and these people are his well-wishers, when he sees the torment there, he wants to give it to Allah and be saved. No bribe or ransom will be accepted there, and no one will be able to pay anything on behalf of anyone. Because both property and wealth belong to Allah. Allah's property is not given to Allah as ransom.
Why is nothing accepted in the presence of Allah? According to the verse that says: (The heavens and the earth and all that is between them belongs to Allah.) (All souls will taste death) (The heavens and the earth and all that is between them will be inherited by Allah), Allah created His creation for human beings, He does not need His creation. If Allah had accepted what was created there as matter in any form in exchange for the sins of human beings, the following questions might come to our minds.
a) Is there another God besides Allah?
b) Was the Ransom He accepted created by that Deity?
c) Did Allah (swt) need the ransom He accepted because He could not create it Himself? In that case, Allah (swt) would also be qualified, which would mean that there would be another deity other than Allah (swt).
Since such things are not accepted, he emphasizes that there is no other God but Allah (swt) and says, "On that Day, nothing will be accepted from anyone. Accordingly, the life is in the body and the opportunity of life is in the hands of human beings. In order for people to embrace Allah's commands and build the Hereafter, they need to find salvation in this world by obeying what Allah says. By worshipping Allah, a person's faith increases, his good deeds multiply, and even if he has no children and well-wishers in this world, his faith will be his companion there, and he will have a guardian like Allah (swt).
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 123. This too is a wrongly translated verse; let's explain this one too. And in the next lesson, 124, 125, 184, 185 — by explaining those verses, we will complete our lesson, that is, these 10 unexplained verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, in this way. This too is a wrongly translated verse. What does it say? Verse 123 — we read it a moment ago; let's read it once more. Verse 123. 'And beware of that day when no one can pay anything for anyone, no ransom is accepted from anyone, no intercession benefits anyone, and they will be helped from no side.'
There is a mistake here. What is the mistake? There is a denial of a verse. Here.
Bring me my phone from inside.
'No intercession benefits anyone.' 'And they will be helped from no side,' it says. Yes. Give it to me. Give it to me.
Let's find the verse here.
Surah Saba, verse 23. Surah Saba, verse 23: in the presence of Allah, no one's intercession benefits except those He permits. Now what does it say here? What does it say here?
'No intercession benefits anyone.' Now, if this verse were translated like this, and this passed as a verse — this translation, Allah protect us — in Surah Saba, verse 23 — does it contradict it or not? In that case, does Allah's word contradict itself or not? Yes. What does it say here now? 'No intercession benefits anyone.' Whereas what does it say here? In the presence of Allah, no one's intercession benefits except those He permits.
But this verse is a verse specific to disbelievers. What does it say? 'And beware of that day when no one can pay anything for anyone.' 'No ransom is accepted from anyone, and intercession does not benefit the disbeliever.' Intercession does not benefit the disbeliever. 'And they will be helped from no side.' Well, is there a verse for this? You've explained it this way, but is there a verse? Of course there is. For the people from whom Allah has cut off His mercy, none will intercede for them. Look how beautiful. how beautifully the verses confirm one another. Well, now you have translated this Quran like this.
You have translated it with mistakes. We say: O Diyanet, give us its text, let us print the correct version. Even though you don't take it up yourself. You answer me. Saying I contradict the spirit of the Quran, you keep the text back. Is it you who contradicts the spirit of the Quran, or me? Tomorrow at the Great Tribunal we will settle accounts with you.
Because you try to throw falsehood over the truth of Allah's religion, we will settle accounts. Your kufr, your rebellion, reaches only your own circle, only as far as where you are.
You are not able to extinguish Allah's light. Yes.
People come into this world so that, fulfilling the covenant they gave Allah Almighty within a lifetime, they prove what kind of person they are and then depart. On the Day of Judgment, at the Great Tribunal, people will be questioned — our Lord reminds us of this, saying: beware of that day when no one can pay anything for anyone, He declares. What is that day He speaks of? The Last Day will (?). Israfil will blow the Trumpet. Bodies and souls will come face to face. And when you come before Me with a driver, the Great Tribunal will have been set up; eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn — according to the verse saying that day judgment is Allah's alone, we will settle accounts before our Lord.
So He declares: beware of that day when no one can pay anything for anyone. People forget Allah's oneness. They plunge into the pleasures of the world. They act as if there were no death. They pay no heed to halal and haram. They oppose Allah's commands. They deny the verses. And if such people complete their lives this way and depart, they depart as disbelievers, and on that day of reckoning, eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn — in the presence of Allah, by the verse saying the fine deeds you did have all gone to waste, there (?) they remain all alone and no intercession is made for them. Yes.
People without faith are left all alone in the hereafter. Even if this person had the wealth of the world, and these people were his family, when they see the punishment there, they would want to give them to Allah and be saved. There neither bribe nor ransom is accepted. And no one can pay anything on anyone's behalf. Because wealth and property belong to Allah. Allah's property cannot be given to Allah as ransom.
Why? Nothing is accepted in Allah's presence — the heavens and the earth, and what is between the two, belong to Allah; every soul shall taste death; the heavens and the earth, these two, and the inheritance of what is between them remains with Allah — according to that verse, that Allah created His creations for people; He has no need of His creations. If Allah accepted, in any way, things created as matter in exchange for people's sins, questions like these could come to our minds. Is there another god besides Allah? Indeed — I'll take from you as ransom what I don't have.
That's part A. Part B: the ransom He accepts — was it created by another god? Part C. These are what come to mind. Did Allah Almighty need that ransom He accepts because He could not create it Himself?
In that case there would be another god besides Allah. Since such things cannot be accepted, emphasizing that there is no other god besides Allah Almighty, He declares that on that day nothing is accepted from anyone. Accordingly, while the soul is in the body, the opportunity of life is in a person's hands. So that people may hold to Allah's commands and build up the everlasting hereafter, they need to heed what Allah says in the world and find salvation. With the worship one performs for Allah, a person's faith increases and rewards multiply; even if he has no children or goodness in the world, since his faith will be his companion there, this person will have a guardian like Allah Almighty.
