Our broadcast seems to be on.

Peace be upon you all. Good evening. On the occasion of the holy night, God willing, we will have a little chat tonight. Let's have a short talk without keeping it too long. God willing, we will all benefit together.

Close the door, would you? And tell the friends the lesson has started. Not inside, yes. Let's wait a minute or two, some people are still coming. Forgive me your rights; God willing, we will talk together.

Okay. It's enough if we keep the door closed, yes.

Yes. May our Regaib Kandil be blessed. My Lord to Rajab bring us to the month of Sha'ban, and to the blessed month of Ramadan as well, grant it and make it easy; to fast noble Ramadan, earn Your pleasure, and at the Ramadan feast, while celebrating it, to be cleansed of our sins — grant it and make it easy for us. The feast is the feast of this, not the feast of our joy at eating again; it is the feast of Allah Almighty's servants, who for His pleasure accept hunger, thirst and fasting in every way, and wholeheartedly for Allah bear these hardships, and at the end of 30 days gain their Lord's pleasure.

God willing, may my Lord be pleased with us and with all of us. It is not easy; the trials are heavy, now and then complaints may happen. We are human, we will make mistakes, faults faults, we will apologise, regret, turn back to our Lord again, and anew, a new page, from His Exalted Divine Essence, may His glory be exalted, we will pray, imploring we will ask. And our Lord will forgive us. We are only human; in reason We are lacking in reason. Since we cannot know what has been decreed for us, what has been decreed as good, when trials that weigh on our nafs come one after another, as long as the nafs is not reformed, a person inevitably, after a certain point, may complain and grumble.

Since all nafs are the same, this is in every person. But those who use their will, whose faith is strong, are content with everything that comes from Allah. They meet every misfortune willingly. They say: my Lord will not leave me alone, and our return is to our Allah. They say: our Owner is our Allah, and our return is to our Allah. Along with saying this, they know that death is near, that they are here only for a while, that Allah sees and watches over everything and is aware, that without His permission nothing affects anything, and that Allah does not leave those who say "Allah" without an owner.

This is the essence of it. The one who knows this, who grasps that our Owner is Allah, who is wholeheartedly content with what comes from Allah, who never forgets death and understands that the world is passing, does not value what is in the world. Let's pay attention here. This person does not value what is in the world. If this person is a family father, he meets his family's needs as far as the means in his hand allow, in the best way. Because he does not value material things. Woe to the one who is stingy toward his family while he has the means. Truly, the one who does not use his mind, who clings to worldly goods, and so that worldly goods don't slip from his hands makes his family suffer — that person's end is bad.

Likewise, what Allah has given, as Allah commanded, in the way of Allah we will spend. We will help, we will provide our living, we will serve in the way of Allah. Of course we will take our precautions, since how long we will stay on earth is uncertain after all. So as not to hold out our hand to anyone tomorrow, we won't squander what we have. If we squander it, we may fall into a trial in the way of Allah, and what we squandered we may come to need, and then "I wish I hadn't given it" we must not say. The moment we say it, what we gave is gone, and we lose its reward too. We are also reproached in Allah's sight.

Yes, so we are not Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), our blessed master. He gave whatever he had. Is that so? He even had only one set of clothes left on him. Someone knocked at his door. "O Abu Bakr, I have nothing to wear. They said you are generous; I ask you for a set of clothes," he says. "Oh, is that so," he says. Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, our master, knows the sender is Allah. He goes inside and wraps himself in a reed mat. He takes off his clothes, brings them and gives them to the man. Since he had no clothes left to wear, when he could not come to the Prophet's Mosque, in his place, so that his absence would not be felt, the noble angels come in his form.

Of course our Master the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is aware of the situation.

He comes and visits Abu Bakr, our master. He brings clothes. Yes. We cannot be Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him. But his faith is on one scale, and the faith of all believers on the other. That being so, what falls to us? That we, beyond the means and needs of our families and the necessary expenses, so as not to need anyone, distribute the rest in the way of Allah to people.

Yes.

Regaib — as for the meaning of the Regaib night: Regaib is our Lord, Exalted is His Majesty, giving of His own spirit a part to each, creating us as the most honourable of created beings, and addressing us humans; granting this highest rank, among created beings the greatest honour; and with this, feeling closeness to us, longing for us, calling us to Himself. Unfortunately, we, while busy with the world in the world, simply forget our Lord. Especially if there were not even the five daily prayers, I wonder how many would remain who remember our Lord in their hearts. Prayer is a very great mercy. Into the presence of our Lord five times a day to come. Remembering our Lord and to Him our gratitude, our love, to present our loyalty. Along with this, our helplessness and our need to His Exalted Divine Essence knowing well that help comes only from Him, and since only He is to be asked, asking everything from Him. What should be asked most? Of course our forgiveness. While He sees and watches over us, having written all our needs in our time and our destiny, rationally there is not much need to ask Him for anything but our forgiveness. But we fall into trouble, we get sick, a loved one falls into trouble, gets sick, falls happens. In that case too we will implore our Lord, of course. Our Lord tonight longs for His servants, calls them to Himself. This night the servants will remember all the faults they have committed against Allah; from their hearts all their shortcomings, their mistakes, their rebellion, their sins they will recall; they will fall into long prostration before Allah, pleading for His forgiveness, and we will find our Lord forgiving, God willing, so He declares. Our Lord, who created us lacking in reason, who did not create us free of faults, who knows we will surely err — if, as we err, we know our faults, our limits, what we are, and take refuge in Him, understanding there is no other door to go to, and plead at His door and ask for our forgiveness, He will surely forgive us. Allah's mercy has surpassed His wrath.

Yes, we always say: on the holy nights, as we learned from our elder, our master too, serving Allah, remembering our Lord much, praying the Tasbih prayer, lingering in long prostrations, reciting the Qur'an, spending the night like that is beautiful, but the next day we must not return to our old state. If we return to our old state the next day, it is still good, but let's not fall behind in worship. That is, what is continuous is good and beautiful and acceptable. What is continuous, even if little. Yes. Surely we may not be able to rise for worship every night. There are some among us who do.

May Allah be pleased with them. We will strive too, but the next day we will strive not to fall into the same sins. The same mistakes, with the same impatience — not to complain about what comes from Allah we will strive. After worshipping much tonight, asking much for forgiveness, and cleaning our record, if the next day we act like the day before, it has no meaning left. What is the simile the Prophet always gave on this? We all know it, but it is very fitting. Under intense summer heat, downpours are very heavy. But they pass quickly. And when they have passed, after that heavy rain the soil cracks again. It is scorching anyway.

Once it has soaked up its water, a bone-dry, cracked soil remains again. Let us not be like that. Let it rain little by little. Let it rain gently. Let it be continuous, God willing. Let the soil never crack. Let it water as needed. Let it always water. So what does this mean? We will always give our heart to Allah and pay attention to our prayer. We will see the five daily prayers as a means of salvation. Since our Lord has granted us to pray, to come into His presence, we will count this a great blessing. This is not a burden, man, this is not a burden. This, called coming into Allah's presence, is a very great treasure, a very great honour.

My Lord has permitted it, He has commanded us to worship Him in His presence. What will we do? Performing a prayer, giving ourselves to our Lord, in prayer refraining from thinking of the world, striving always to be with Allah, we will turn that prayer into purification for us. God willing, it will be a means of being cleansed of our sins and attaining mercy in His presence. We will strive for this. Then we will strive to be content with what comes from Allah.

Things happen to us. You cut your hand, this happens, that happens, and so on and so forth; at some point a person who cannot master his will says, "Hey, what's going on, why does it always happen to me?" We must not say that. Surely there is a reason. Surely my Lord, by His mercy, is warding off a much greater calamity from us with these little things. "My Lord, I am content" — one must be able to say it from the heart. I'll give a small example; since it's about myself, I apologise, but so it can be understood: on Friday, on my way to Friday prayer, the the foreman called and said: we fitted a gearbox to a new-model jeep, its engine is ruined, he said. What should we "The engine is gone, master," he said, "knocking sounds are coming from the engine." Oh no — in my heart I didn't say "oh no", my Lord knows. I said, "My Lord, help." The owner is a man who won't listen to reason, one, it's impossible, and there are acquaintances in between, you can't explain. What's the cost, I asked: 500 thousand lira." "All right, my Lord," I said, "I take refuge in You, I accept whatever You decree, but help," I said, "truly I don't have the means, I can't cover such a thing." But there is nothing to be done; if we can't explain it to the man, it's on us, because the trust is with us; it happened while it was with us, this incident. So we prayed our prayer in peace, then I went to the workshop and saw the engine was 4 litres short of oil. We topped up its oil, the sounds stopped. I called the man and explained. "Yes," he said, "its engine had problems." Thank God. Look, had I said "why does this happen to me", I would only have lost my worth in Allah's sight and with Him; nothing would have changed. Even if the engine really had died in our hands, even if the whole burden fell on us, what of it? Does Allah — God forbid — not see me?

Is He not aware of my state? Surely the one who gives hardship and distress, and surely the one who helps, is only and only Allah. If Allah does not permit, no misfortune befalls me. Any of us, I mean. And once Allah helps, no one can harm us. That being so, we should gracefully accept what comes from Allah, and even if it comes again and again, "I am content, O Lord of the worlds" — we should strive to say that. What we gain tonight — God willing, my Lord by His grace, who created these nights as our mercy, to be a mercy for us, grants us to return to Him; tonight through our pleading for pardon and forgiveness, He forgives our sins, God willing; tonight He cleans the record of all of us. But tomorrow let's not blacken that record again right away; right away we won't let that record be scratched, God willing. Let us strive for this, so that it is not a summer rain; like spring rains, with the lovely scent of soil, making flowers bloom, bearing fruit, looking beautiful — let our heart be like a very beautiful garden.

Let it grow and flourish, that is, let our heart turn green and bloom. With the mercy of this night, with Allah's love and compassion for us, seizing it as an opportunity, from tomorrow on, through the three months, to the end of noble Ramadan — may my Lord let us reach it — let us come out cleansed. Surely I'll make mistakes again, surely; there's no way around it. Why not? Because progress has no end. As you progress, compared to your previous state, your present state will remain lacking and faulty; constantly in repentance and seeking forgiveness, constantly, as you grasp the right of what you misunderstood, as you advance, as you see your faults, we will constantly ask our Lord for pardon and forgiveness. Sometimes it happens that a person — we repent and seek forgiveness many times every day; we already have a hundred dhikrs every day, but when we also see our mistake, something burns inside, doesn't it?

Dhikr is one thing, and then there is how we live; in that living so many occasions to repent and seek forgiveness come before me — they should for all of us — that a person starts to feel ashamed. But you're human, after all; until the nafs is reformed, it is like this. So the one who knows his fault, knows himself, knows his shortcoming, thus knows his Lord. If you cannot even become aware of yourself, you can never reach your Lord. Indeed, without reforming your nafs too, knowing your faults, knowing your helplessness, if you don't realise your wretchedness, if you don't realise that you are poor, that you own nothing, your nafs too you cannot reform.

Of course there is no other way than being with a perfect spiritual guide. Absolutely — only the very exceptional ones raised by my Lord Himself, the crown of our heads, are the exception. Other than that, if you have no elder who shows you the way, who guides you and leads you, taking you by the hand along those paths, to your Lord you cannot reach; you only become a plaything of Satan. We always tell this, I mean. For us, adab comes first. Wanting Allah's love, wanting to save one's hereafter, wanting His paradise — whatever you want is up to you. Some want His forgiveness, some want His paradise, and some want only their Allah.

Whatever you want, adab comes first. Without adab, a person cannot reach anything. May my Lord grant all of us to know our limits, to know our faults, with a sincere heart to repent and seek forgiveness from Allah and be cleansed tonight. I will read a short text about adab. From our master's book "Karanlık Yolları Nurlu Işık". Let's benefit from it for some 10-15 minutes, God willing. Let's close tonight like that, without dragging it out. Because it is a holy night. People visit one another as families. This is very important too. Don't forget your elders. Yes. Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. O son, Allah Almighty, when creating the universe, created it upon these 3 things, upon 3 things He created it: 1 – adab and manners, this comes first; 2 – order and order. 3- Creating with knowledge. If we pay attention to the order above above: had Allah Almighty not created this universe with His knowledge, which is third in the order, would there be adab and manners?

Of course not. That being so, why has creating with knowledge been put last and adab and manners put first? O people, think: when Allah Almighty willed to create us, His art of creating, His power to bring into being from nothing, already existed with His Essence. So look: if Allah Almighty's creatures had no morals, order and discipline, would the created be of any use? In herds of animals, too, every herd has a leader. All the animals follow the leader. No one goes ahead of the leader. If the leader grows old and weakens, for the herd's safety, that is, so that future generations aren't spoiled and stay sturdy, a stronger, more powerful, younger animal fit to lead pushes it aside and takes the lead.

Then they follow that one. No one goes ahead of it. Yes. If these created beings on the universe had no adab and manners, the beings on the universe would fall upon each other, strife would arise, creation would have no meaning left. Yes. Now we look at heads of state, right? Or at army commanders. A single person, with 3-5 people around him, or his circle, close circle, administrators, commanders, directors. 100 million, 80 million, whatever, give regard to one person and follow him. Indeed, why do so many people follow a single person and not ignore him? Because we all need an administrator at the head.

Someone who thinks of the big matters on our behalf, takes them to heart, runs our affairs — a leader to keep order and discipline is needed. If there is no leader, none of us will find a right to live. We'll all be scattered and gone. And if you want to defeat an enemy, first you remove their leaders. What remains is a herd; it is of no use, it scatters and goes. The leader creates togetherness, loyalty and unity. That is why our Master the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, even if a dried raisin stem is over you obey him. This is very important — order and adab.

Yes, it is for this reason that in the Qur'an many peoples, because they transgressed their limits, corrupted their morals. They no longer listened to Allah Almighty's command. And Allah Almighty destroyed them. He left no stone upon stone. Or, drowning them, with a new generation He brought after them He established truth and justice on earth. Some of the destroyed peoples: the people of 'Ad, the people of Thamud, the people of Lot, and Noah's flood. Events like the story of Pharaoh are to bring us to our senses. Now we too say: the vileness the people of 'Ad committed exists in our society in abundance.

The vileness the people of Lot (peace be upon him) committed exists among us in abundance. O Lord, protect us, we say. Allah is the Owner of great mercy; for the sake of His Beloved, our Master the Prophet, peace him), He lifted destruction. Otherwise, if it weren't for His beloved ones in this community, this community would be far more deserving to be destroyed too. People's so-called leaders, leaders of civil society organisations, even those who appear prominent in society — what great immorality they are in keeps being exposed. Our young girls, our young women, half naked, roam the streets. Those who obey, regard and respect their parents have become so few as to be almost none. Those who honour their elders have become almost none. All kinds of vile and filthy relationships have reached down to ages of 13.

In schools there is neither honour for the teacher nor respect for elders. All adab and manners — I won't say entirely, shall we say 90%, I don't know anymore — have disappeared. In this society, amid these evils, we will stand up for our religion, our chastity, our honour and our faith. We will stand up for our family. We will not leave our children unattended. We will also explain to people as much as we can, and we will not follow them, so that my Lord protects us too from the great punishment He will bring upon them one day. Otherwise the end of this course is not good at all. If we go along with these and follow them, we too will be destroyed. If we don't warn them, it will strike us too. And we are obliged to warn. Even though they don't listen, we will explain to them as much as we can, without hurting them.

Our relatives first, yes. Without leaving the order Allah Almighty set up, minding its adab and manners and the concept of morality, submitting to Allah Almighty's rulings, with our Lord's mercy upon us we must be content. I repeat. Submitting to Allah Almighty's rulings, we must be content with our Lord's mercy upon us. In this respect, Allah Almighty, when creating the universe, by creating the beings on it as knowers of His Essence, also made His laws known to them so they would not transgress their limits. Yes, forgive me your rights. It's the holy night. God willing, you too celebrate it with your families.

Visit your elders. Don't fall short in honour, loyalty and devotion to your elders. Win your parents' hearts. Don't even say "uff". Remember your older brothers, paternal uncles, maternal uncles, and call them. Even if you can't go. City traffic is heavy. But don't forget them, and strive to win their hearts too. The world is short. Know these holy nights are a means, and hope to receive the prayers of those whose hearts we win as well. How beautiful. You win a heart, ask after them, and they pray for you from the heart. Both to your face and behind your back. May they include you in their prayers tonight. And you include them too. All together, hand in hand, let's pray for good for one another in absence.

Let us be pleased with one another. God willing, our Lord will be pleased with us too. Forgive me your rights. Stay well. Blessed holy nights. For the sake of Allah Almighty, al-Fatiha.

With your permission, Hodja. — Not at all.

Thank you.

Right away, this.
