What is said in the video
Yes, because I didn't give it last week either, the lesson probably starts from the top. There are quite a few, aren't there? There are questions, Hodja. Yes.
Where do we start here? there are quite a few more questions here. Yes, hocam, there is Bayramiye's question. Quite a lot of questions. Will he manage all of them?
Bayramiye, Bayramiye, Bayramiye, Bayramiye, it starts here, look, do you see? There's a mark here. Yes, Hodja. We start below that. Bayramiye. That one is marked too, hocam. Ah, this one's marked too. This one too. Look, this thing keeps moving up and down. Yes Hodja. We couldn't change that. It starts from here, Hodja. From the white one. Yes Hodja. Yes. It starts here. It didn't look. The picture didn't come. It's not the broadcast. We're doing something, Hodja. It's coming to us. Do you have it? We have it, Hodja. Okay. Not here.
Yes. We can start. Whether it comes here or not.
As-salamu alaykum, sir, he says. I respectfully kiss your blessed hands, sir. My question: page 257, Surah Ibrahim, could you open the verse? May Allah be pleased with you, he says. Surah Ibrahim, verse 22. Let's see.
The surahs. Ibrahim.
Verse 22.
When the matter is settled, Satan will say: Surely Allah promised you the promise of truth. Where is this? In the Hereafter. The Last Day will come.
Everyone will go to their place. The people of Paradise to Paradise, the people of Hell to Hell. There Satan will say this to the people of Hell.
What does he say? Surely Allah promised you the truth, he says. I promised you too, but I turned out a liar to you.
I led you astray. But Allah told you who I am. He said: he is your enemy. You did not believe Allah's true word. You believed the words I told you from my own mind, you followed me. Look what he will say. "I had no authority over you," he will say. Now I've turned out a liar to you. "I had no power over you anyway," he says. How well he puts it. Because the reason he has no authority the reason is Satan, min marijin min nar: we created him from a smokeless fire He says. But to man, "I gave of My spirit," He says.
The spirit is a being in the universe that has will, and through this will it is a powerful being. Powerful.
The unseen is surely powerful, isn't it? The unseen. Powerful compared to the seen. But it has no authority over man. Just like radio sets: when He says "smokeless fire", they were created within frequencies. When any frequency is decoded, you are caught by the jinn. Or if you search on that frequency and can't find anything, it has died. For example a medium-wave radio on such-and-such frequency, or a long-wave radio on such-and-such frequency, when you tune in there, if that radio isn't broadcasting on that frequency, what is it? It means it's off. Well, if you can't find the jinn on that frequency, it means it has died.
And do those frequencies have any effect on man? No. They move all around him. Likewise Satan moves in a person's bloodstream. So although Satan, being invisible, is thought to be powerful, he has no power over man. He cannot affect man in any way. But will in man is very strong. If he uses his reason with his will, "Do you not use your reason?" He says, if he uses his reason, man tells right from wrong. Who is Satan? A being Allah created. Who is Allah? He who created the universe from nothing, besides whom there is no god, self-subsisting, Owner of all beings and of the seven heavens. Now will you follow the created, or will you follow the Creator?
Right? That's where you use your reason. He has no authority over man. Yes.
"I only called you to disbelief," he says. And you rushed to my call at once. Because what is your destiny? "Long ago you rebelled against Allah too," he says. You, Allah Almighty, even though Allah said 'I created you', even though He said "I am your Lord", you denied Allah there too. "You waited for the lord of your imagination," he says. "You denied Allah anyway," he says. In this denial, when I invited you, you liked it. "You came running to me," he says. "Otherwise I had no authority over you," he says. He says that from the start anyway.
And you rushed to my call at once. "So do not blame me," he says. "Blame yourselves. I cannot save you, nor can you save me." Indeed. What does Allah Almighty say? Those from whom I withhold My mercy, no being, no created thing, the angels, not even the prophets will intercede for them. Yes. In the verse too, they are without anyone and alone. They have no protector. They were left without a protector. Yes.
"Surely I rejected before your associating me with Allah," he says.
Now, is there such a thing? Did Satan reject it? Did he, by saying words that would lead the disbeliever or man astray, say that? He didn't say "come to me". He never said "I am your Lord" either. And he said, "I fear Allah."
And Allah made clear to people, with His verses too, how He cursed him. So "I only led you astray," he says here anyway. "I lied to you," he says. "And you followed me." "Because you were people like me, who denied Allah," he says. "But I didn't deny. I didn't prostrate to Adam because I was angry with him," he says. "I knew of Allah's existence," he says. "But you denied Allah," he says.
Surely I rejected before your associating me with Allah. "Surely for the wrongdoers there is a painful punishment," it says. Allah Almighty, in this last sentence, it is Allah Almighty's word. For the wrongdoers is a painful punishment. May Allah join us all to the servants who pass to the Hereafter with the light of Islam.
May He set our feet not on the road to Hell, but on the road that goes firmly upon the straight path.
Again Bayramiye says this: Peace be upon you, sir. Your blessed your blessed hands. My question is page 265. You needn't say the page, the surah and number are enough. Surah Al-Hijr, verse 91, can you explain it, he says, may Allah be pleased with you. Let's type it: Surah Al-Hijr. Pardon?
Which one does he say? 90-91, sir. 90, verse 90. Yes. Here in verse 90 it says: Just as We sent down punishment on those who divided the Quran into parts, it says here. In its tafsir, what does dividing the Quran into parts mean? The Quran is four books. Of the four books, one is the Torah, one the Psalms, one the Gospel. These three are in the Holy Quran.
Dividing the Quran into parts means saying "I follow the Gospel", the other saying "I'm a Hebrew, I follow the Torah". These split the Quran into parts. Whereas the last, the Seal of the Prophets, whom Allah Almighty sent, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), as a mercy to the worlds. Allah Almighty sent books according to people's minds. At the very end, when minds had matured, He sent the Prophet (peace be upon him), He sent him, and to all people. 'And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the âlemîn. Sent as a mercy to the world, to all people, even to the jinn, to all; when He says "worlds", the angels are included too.
He sent him to them as a prophet. Because the worlds were created from his light, people from his spirit. So whoever, of these four books Allah sent, deliberately denies even one verse of the Quran is a disbeliever. Yes, this is what dividing is. You can't separate them. Just as We sent down punishment on those who divided the Quran into parts, He says. Punishment. And how does this punishment come down? There is no annihilation. Annihilation was lifted, for the sake of the Prophet. Because annihilation was lifted: Ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten lil âlemîn. Annihilation doesn't befit the people of a prophet who came as a mercy to the worlds.
But He said: I will send calamities. There are calamities. And calamities are pouring down already. To one who understands, a mosquito is music; to one who doesn't, drums and pipes aren't enough. Earthquakes everywhere. Earthquakes. The rains came down. It flows as a flood. It sweeps everything away. How could Allah warn any better? All over the world, tremors, immorality, nakedness are spreading.
Signs of the Last Day.
Yes. The sending down of punishment: you see people dying in floods or, in earthquakes, being buried under houses. Well, to those who stay silent against the Truth, consent to disbelief and bow their heads, Allah gives such a punishment that if you knew the distress in their hearts, if you only knew the misery in their hearts, they are in dire straits. Satan leads him astray too. The world looks beautiful. To gain the world he deceives this one and that one. And today we see what state those who deceive have fallen into. All of them in misery. They're slinking away. Those who leave the right path have no peace.
Peace is in Islam. In being able to live Islam. Because peace: to find peace, a person trusts the Owner of that peace and relies on Him. Holds Him great. If he submits to Him, he is content with what comes from Him. His heart stays at peace. But today man's eye is sunk in the world; in this garbage-heap world his eye is never satisfied. With Satan's whispering and the nafs's desire, the world looks dazzling and glittery, adorned, and man, caught in the current of this world, is rolled along in a flood. Are you looking for peace in this? This is the punishment itself. They don't know peace. If they knew peace, would they act like this?
Do you think those who walk around naked are at peace?
Yes. Let's read verse ninety-one. They are the ones who split the Quran apart, it says. We covered it in verse ninety, together with verse ninety-one. They split the Quran apart. That is, they became disbelievers. Who are those who split the Quran apart? Disbelievers. Those who rebel against Allah. I believed in Hazrat Jesus. You did not even believe in Hazrat Jesus. "I believed in Allah." You didn't believe in Allah either. "Well, prove it to me then." The proof is very simple. Allah has no wife or children. Hazrat Jesus is not the son of Allah either. He is a servant and prophet created by Allah.
A prophet who brought the Gospel. A prophet inviting you to Allah. Well now, a second prophet inviting to Allah. All people who came as a mercy to the worlds, the prophets from his spirit, and people created from the prophets' spirits; while these prophets stand there, when Muhammad (peace be upon him) brought the last, the Holy Quran, when Allah Almighty sent the Quran, if you don't believe in the Quran and say "From the Quran I'll believe the Gospel", the other "I'll believe the Torah", if you split the Quran into pieces like this, have you obeyed Allah's command? Have you known Allah? Call the prophets sons of Allah, or kill some of the prophets, and rebel against Allah, ascribe wife and children to Allah,
call Hazrat Ezra the son of Allah, call Hazrat Jesus the son of Allah, sir, call Mary, Hazrat Mary, His wife; is there such a god?
Allah is One in His essence. He has neither wife nor child. Ikhlas, Surah Al-Ikhlas. Kul hüvallahü ehad, Allahüssamed, lem yelid ve lem yuled, ve lem yekün lehu küfüven ehad.
Yes, Bayramiye asks again. Let him ask, may Allah be pleased with him. Ask, Bayramiye, as many as you have, from whichever verse, whichever hadith you want, ask. As-salamu alaykum, sir. With respect to your blessed hands, sir. My question: page 266, the surah, verse 2, can you explain it? May Allah be pleased with you. Sir, which surah is on page 266? Surah An-Nahl, Hodja. Surah An-Nahl. Yes. Let's see. Surah An-Nahl, 2nd verse.
Pardon. Like this.
An-Nahl, verse 2. Right? That's what it says. Yes, Hodja. By His command Allah sends down the angels to whom He wills of His servants. Right. Here, willing belongs to Allah alone. He sends to whom He wills of His servants.
There are many meanings here. Many meanings in "whom He wills".
Let me tell you one of them.
Doesn't Allah Almighty send what He wills to the prophets? Whichever prophet is to go to whichever people, He sends him. He comes by His will. He comes by His command.
Second, willing. Allah Almighty's will is not imposed on man. But man asks certain things of Allah. Certain things. If this wish exists in destiny with Allah Almighty, He gives it. Within destiny. He gives whom He wills, within his destiny, as much as He wills. Within his destiny.
This too is Allah's will for a person. For example, they lay a plot. I lay a plot too. "My plotting is better," He says. So here Allah's will, well, brings a person from outside his destiny back into his destiny. Because what happens when he goes outside his destiny? Destiny would be broken. Since destiny will not be broken, Allah Almighty puts him back within his destiny. Where else is Allah's will?
"You are protected by many beings you don't know," He says. In your whole life you will go through no danger. But just when you're about to have an accident, if it's not in your destiny, He sends that angel to you, makes you lose your way, or makes you stumble for a moment, or puts someone on two legs in front of you, himself or appearing as someone else, holds you there and keeps you from the accident. That is Allah's will. He sends it to some people. These "some people" means for some accidents outside their destinies. That's what I meant a moment ago. In your whole life nothing will be allowed to befall you.
That is, you won't live anything outside your destiny. When you're about to step outside your destiny, Allah Almighty sends angels and holds you.
I'm going from Samsun to Bafra. I was still young then.
I have a BMW. I'm driving the BMW. To Bafra, to its delta. Going on an outing. I'm about twenty-four, twenty-five.
Going pretty fast, too.
A truck was going ahead of me. I overtook the truck, and a taxi was coming the other way. No way not to hit it. How it happened there, how it stopped, how I got behind the truck, how I came to myself there, right across from us there was a coffeehouse. The people sitting there had stood up, thinking I was gone. After that danger I pulled over, sat in the coffeehouse to have a tea, and they all hugged me, saying "thank God you're OK". Well, this escape, what kind of escape is this?
I'm coming from, again from Ankara, I'll take the old road. From, through Hendek, Hendek. I'm driving through Hendek.
It was impossible for me not to crash. We said, this is the end. I felt faint. There, in that moment. I don't know how long I was out. I'm driving across a field, but an airfield. Really, like this. Driving the car, an airfield.
On, on, on, on, on. Then I came to my senses. Then the road straightened out by itself. And it carried on along the road. Many things like this happened to me. Well, how does this happen? These are the things outside your destiny that Allah sends you.
The angels Allah Almighty sends you. Yes. Surah An-Nahl, verse two. Let's read what else it says.
Warn My servants that there is no god but Me. Well, who can make this rule? Who besides Allah, at that moment, all of them; I'm not the only one in this universe or world, who can make someone intervene for those having such accidents? This is Allah's command. The angels under Allah's command know where, when, what will happen. He keeps them ready there. He keeps those angels ready there. They prevent it. Yes.
"And so that they fear Me" He sends them, He says.
The angels. After these accidents. Now the late Kenan Hodja comes to my mind. There someone is having his car repaired, a Christian, should I call him? A Hebrew? A rabbi. The rabbi's things. Probably Hebrews. "I didn't believe in Allah," he says. "I don't believe," he says. "I still don't," he says, "but one thing amazes me."
"I," he says, "from the Himalayas am coming," he says. "All the way from the Himalaya mountains I've come with the car," he says. He tells it there. "At one point my car," he said, "went toward the ditch," he said, "and involuntarily, suddenly I said Allah," he says. "Who made me say that?" he says. "I don't say Allah," he says. "Who made me say that?" he says. Ah, these events are another matter. These go a bit into Sufi, inner teachings. That's why here Allah Almighty addresses only "fear Me". Again our son Bayram says this.
As-salamu alaykum, sir. With respect to your blessed hands, sir. My question: page 38, Surah Al-Baqarah 240, the verse. Can you explain it? he says. May Allah be pleased with him. Surah Al-Baqarah 243. Verse. Surah Al-Baqarah 243. Those who, though they were thousands, for fear of death left their homes, have you not seen them? it says. Here.
These are the people this verse answers to: When Allah's decree comes to you, not an hour earlier nor an hour later, it says. If you leave your homeland for fear of death, it says,
if your lifespan is up, you'll die there, it says. You'll die on the road, it says. If your lifespan is up, you'll die before you even set out, it says. This is an inescapable truth. If out of fear of death you don't go to war either, well, if you aren't going to die, you won't die in war either. This is faith. This is submission to Allah. If you believe the verses, the verses give you life. They give peace. But if you don't believe the verse and judge by your own mind, one who runs every matter by his own mind is like the legless fitted with artificial legs, it says. He tries to change today what he did yesterday.
So you'll still steer with your mind, but first you'll listen to Allah's verse. As far as you understand, you'll obey the verse. Allah has not told us when our life will close, will end, that is, when our life will reach its end. So we don't know when Allah's decree will come. In that case, shall I flee from here for fear of death? No. If my lifespan isn't up, isn't up, even if everyone here goes, I'll still survive. Didn't it happen like that? For days they pulled people out from under the collapsed rubble. After how many days? Some came out after a week. Yes. If Allah doesn't let you die, you won't die.
Here it says, let's read. Though they were thousands, for fear of death have you not seen those who left their homes? Here the core of "thousands", the main thing here is "thousands", it says. Why thousands? Allah Almighty means: not thousands, even if you were millions, could you stop death? In that sense, these thousands: you're fleeing death; could these thousands stop it it says. "Even if you were millions," it says, "could that stop it for you?" When your time comes, you'll go, it says. Yes. Allah said to them "Die", and they died. Then He brought them back to life. Who are these? Among the Children of Israel, to Moses they said, "We don't believe in Allah." "We won't believe unless we see," they said.
With a thunderbolt He made them as though dead, but not truly dead. Theirs was a faint.
Since man cannot see Allah with these eyes, He showed them His essence. They can't explain this verse. Not easily.
Just as in the realm of Lahut, nafs and soul, our Lord appeared before us saying "I am your Lord", appeared before us, and there, Alastu bi-Rabbikum, although He said: Yes, I am your Lord we split into three groups. He showed Himself. And how, in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172, we made a covenant with Allah Almighty. Each one's covenant became our own destiny. Our wish became our own destiny. He showed. Since in this world man cannot see Allah Almighty with these eyes, they explained Surah Al-An'am, verse 103 wrongly too. But we explained it correctly there.
So with that thunderbolt Allah Almighty gave them a faint. And just as a person roams at night in his dream, exactly like that, at that moment He showed His essence, then revived them. Now someone who can't explain it this way and says He killed them and revived them contradicts this verse of Allah Almighty: "We give you life twice and death twice," He says. Then He killed them, revived them, will kill them again, and revive them again in the Hereafter. He'd have made them die three times. That contradicts Allah reviving twice and making die twice. They didn't taste death. The soul didn't leave.
A state of faint. Exactly as if you saw it in your dream. As if seen in a dream. This state appears. Otherwise they did not die in this world and come back to life and die again. Now the Prophet (peace be upon him) too: the decree of death came, but he is not dead, he is alive. He tasted death here. In the realm of the Hereafter his body will not appear to him. He will have no body there. Why not? Now I'll read you here from Surah Al-Fath, verse one of Surah Al-Fath.
Verse two: So that Allah may forgive your past and future sins, it says. Now pay attention here. We're opening the lesson up a bit, but we'll bring it together. What does it say? So that Allah may forgive your past and future sins. Every person is created fallible. Be it only a slip, a slip, he errs. But since the Prophet came as a mercy to the worlds, he has no slip. Because he came as a mercy to the worlds. In the worlds there is no deficiency. But the Prophet's slip is relative to Allah Almighty. Relative to Him he is deficient. So He forgives your past and future sins. He completes His favor upon you and guides you to a straight path.
It says. So he tasted one death. Where is the second death? Since the body will not come, his body is currently in his grave, in its own place. He will come a second time in the guise of the Mahdi. In the guise of the Mahdi. His name will be Mahdi. Not as a prophet, since prophethood is sealed. Since no prophet will come after the Prophet himself, he will come with the title of Mahdi. One of his names is Mahdi anyway. One of the names of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is Mahdi. And he will pass away in the world a second time, so his body won't come in the Hereafter. He will have tasted death in the world twice.
You know those who say 'I am the Mahdi' in this story. Let them learn this too and come to their senses a bit.
Which verse were we on? 243? Yes Hodja. Surah Al-Baqarah 243. Verse. Verse 243. Let's go in there and continue it.
Al-Baqarah.
243. Though they were thousands, for fear of death, those who left their homes, have you not seen them? Allah said to them "Die", and they died. Then He revived them. Surely Allah is gracious to people, it says. What is this graciousness? Allah Almighty's graciousness toward people. He created man deficient in reason. Man falls into sin. Commits sins. Makes mistakes. Here's why He created man like this. Man will know his deficiency, return to Allah, ask His forgiveness. Because it fits Allah's purpose in creating, the verse saying Allah accepts repentance abundantly comes connected to this anyway.
The verses always support one another like this. Yes. So Allah is gracious to people. Because He created them deficient and gave a part of His spirit, until the very last breath, until the soul reaches the throat, reaches it, He keeps the door of repentance open. keeps it open. In Surah Al-Waqi'ah: iza beleğatil hulkum, when the soul reaches the throat Hineizin tenzurun. Come on, bring it back, He says. Ve nahnu akrabu ileyhi minküm ve lakin la tubsirun. As relatives they gather at his head and wait for the soul to leave. Are you closer to him with your power, or not? "Or are We closer with Our power?" He says.
Allah is very gracious to people. He waits until the soul reaches the throat. "Repent," He says. Repent. The door of repentance is not closed. But when they explain the Quran, they say: the disbelievers, "I will throw into Hell," He says. They close the door of repentance from the start. Are there none among the disbelievers who repent? There are. Are there none who become Muslim? There are. You can't close Allah's door of repentance by calling all disbelievers disbelievers.
Again Bayram Efendi says. As-salamu alaykum, sir. With respect to your blessed hands, sir. My question: page 281, Surah Al-Isra. Okay. Can you explain verse seven of Surah Al-Isra? Let's open Surah Al-Isra.
Pardon.
Al-Isra.
Which verse? Verse seven.
If you do good, you've done it for yourselves; if you do evil, again you've done it to yourselves, says Allah Almighty. This supports this verse: Ve men ya'mel miskale zerretin hayren yereh. Ve men ya'mel miskale zerretin şerren yereh. I will record an atom's weight of evil. I will record an atom's weight of good too. With an atom's weight of evil you've harmed yourself. You've sinned. But if you do good, you've earned reward for yourself. That is, you've raised your own rank. "Because you carried out My command, I give you more than I asked," He says. For a good deed you do: three for one, five for one, seven, ten, seventy, a hundred for one, even seven hundred I give, He says.
One ear of grain, it says. In each ear, a hundred grains. Seven ears, seven hundred, it says. I'm not saying it. The verse says so.
Then, when the time of the other punishment comes, let them blacken your faces. What does "then, when punishment comes" mean? He says this to the Israelites. He says it to the accursed people. Once they were removed from the earth, their faces were blackened. A second time of blackness will come. Now our ancestors have a saying. A dog whose hour has come urinates on the mosque wall. Their hour must have come. They have adopted this path. And they're following a murderer. Look what it says now. Then, when the time of the other punishment comes, let them blacken your face. As they entered before, they will again enter the Mosque of Solomon, its temple, and utterly destroy everything they get their hands on.
They will descend upon you, it says. They're asking for it. It's boiling now anyway. Attacking here, attacking there.
If a person relies on a person, the person dies. If he leans on a tree, the tree breaks and falls. Man must rely on Allah. Your accursed people has taken America on its back instead of Allah, trusting it. How far will you trust it? How far will it carry you?
Because they know this, and know this verse, they have built underground shelters. Underground. Not underground; even if you go seven thousand layers below the earth, it will still find you there. "Even if you leave your world and go to the remotest corner of the universe, We will still find you there," He says. Why, the universe is Allah's. He is present and watching everywhere. Where will you flee from Him?
Yes. Yes. Bayramiye. We've answered this one too.
Again Bayramiye says: my question is Surah Al-Baqarah verse 259. Mashallah, good. Surah Al-Baqarah 259 Here it says: Or have you not seen the one who passed by a town, its walls collapsed upon its roofs, turned upside down? He said: How will Allah revive these after their death? So Allah caused him to die and left him a hundred years. This is an honored person. Some call him a prophet. This person. Traveling on a journey, he sees a ruined city with collapsed roofs. "I wonder," he says, "when will this city rise up?" That is, it has fallen into ruin, he says. And how will these people be revived, he says.
Allah Almighty causes him to die there. Just like what I read before, how He gave a faint with the thunderbolt, He makes him faint there.
We can also give this example: The Companions of the Cave. From that time to this they're still asleep. Like that. Like a dead person, him too. Allah Almighty says, "We turn them from right to left and left to right," look. So their sides don't ache. And the sun strikes above their heads and circles until it sets, it says. Now in this case, well, He causes him to die there. After a hundred years He revives him. And he sees that it has been rebuilt. "Look at your donkey," He says. Dry bones. "Look at your food," He says. It's fresh. The food still fresh. "Look how I will clothe your donkey with skin," He says.
"How I will bring your donkey to life," He says. He brings his donkey to life. That's how He'll revive the dead.
Now let's read this too. Yes. He passed by a town. He said: How will Allah revive these after their death? So Allah caused him to die and left him a hundred years. Then He revived him. "How long did you stay?" he was asked. "A day or less," he said. Allah to him: "No, you stayed a hundred years." "Look at your food and drink," He says. "They have not yet spoiled." "Look at your donkey too. To make you a sign for people, after keeping you dead a hundred years We revived you," He says. That is, He keeps him in a faint. The soul had not left him. Death comes after the soul leaves.
Yes. Look at your donkey too. To make you a sign for people, We kept you dead a hundred years. Then We revived you. Now look at the bones. How He arranges them? Then how We clothe them with flesh? He said. When it became clear to him: "Now I know well that Allah has power over all things." He said. That's as far as it says. Let me tell it in terms of man. In man there is a cell that doesn't burn, rot, or vanish. This cell is man's essence. Just like a plant's seed. It is man's seed. It doesn't rot, vanish, or burn in the soil. At the Resurrection, the earth will be another earth. When the sky is another sky, when the world is laid out completely flat, "We will water you with a water," He says.
This water, on the sixth level, is called the Sea of Secret.
It's the water called the Sea of Secret. It's called the Sea of Secret because only that water can dissolve this cell; that's why it's a secret. What kind of water? That's Allah's. A secret. Exclusive to Allah. Otherwise, if they knew that water's secret, people would revive the dead here too. This is exclusive to Allah. From there, from the earth, we'll sprout like plants into the open. Then what does Allah Almighty say? You, what was it, can't you come up with it? The angel's name.
I'm asking him. No dodging.
Never mind. I'll say it.
They'll follow the angel. Right. They'll go to the place of reckoning. Israfil, he says. Israfil, no dodging. We remembered. From time to time it slips our mind. Israfil will blow the Trumpet, blow the Trumpet; the second revival is there. "We revive you twice and make you die twice": this verse will be fulfilled there. Now the second revival is there, and the second death will be there too. "When you come before Me with a driver", who is the driver? The spirit. But those who don't know themselves say: in the verse, "when the souls are paired", it means pairing woman and man, they say. Allah, Allah, or that woman and man come face to face, they say. Just look, he knows nothing of himself. Whereas man, even the man living now, is in two garments. The spirit in his heart, he can't know it. The spirit is in the heart; the outer body is created from earth. "We created you a second time," He says, Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 14.
verse: We created you a second time, put you in human form, He says. In human shape. You are already in two appearances, two persons. Inspiration that comes doesn't come to your brain, it comes to your heart. You filter from heart through brain, to heart, and from the heart to the tongue it comes. So in the realm of the Hereafter too the spirit, with the body, will give account in the divine presence. Allah will silence our mouths, bind our feet, and make our hands speak. And after the testimony is over, the body will say to the spirit: you are being returned to the One who first created. There it will die a second time.
So the first revival is here. The first death is here. The second revival there. The second death there. Well, spirits; there is no death for spirits. And Allah Almighty turns and says this to the spirit: You will taste no pain of death other than the first. What does this mean? In Paradise and Hell spirits are eternal. There is no death. Why no death? Because our Lord gave man a part of Himself. In man there is ruh. Ruh, nafs and soul are one. This is man's origin. It entered the flesh, the body, later. Therefore, being a part from his Lord, it has no death; it is deathless. Deep, deep you've got me digging, huh.
It keeps going further, opening up.
Again Bayramiye says. May Allah be pleased with him. Otherwise there'd be no questions here. Ask whatever you want. From fiqh, creed, kalam, hadith, spiritual states, language, whatever comes to your mind ask. Even search through the books. Ask the hardest question in the world.
He asks about Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 259. This we covered, we read it, we read 259. Or have you not seen the one whose houses' walls and roofs had collapsed, right? We covered it. So this one is done.
In the Ramadan box he says: Hodja, in Ankara our lesson, after the evening prayer, will start. He wrote it here.
As-salamu alaykum, sir. I kiss your blessed hands. My question: Surah Al-Kahf 24, the verse, can you explain it? May Allah be pleased with you, sir. Very good. Surah Al-Kahf. Pardon.
24 Unless you tie it to Allah's will. I'm reading it wrong. It says verse 24, right? Yes. Unless you tie it to Allah's will, unless you say inshallah, never say of anything "I'll do this tomorrow." If you forget this, remember Allah and say: I hope my Lord will guide me to a path nearer to what is right than this. Now there's the word "I hope" here. According to this verse, man cannot use the word "I hope". Man does say "I hope", but according to this he cannot say it. I'll explain that too now. Don't say "I'll do it, I'll do it" of anything. If you forget this, "O Allah give", remember Allah, look, remember Allah, and "I hope my Lord guides me to the right path, a path nearer than this." What does remembering Allah mean?
It means repenting, saying "I've left my error." In that case, since Allah keeps the door of repentance open, and since there is no sin that won't be forgiven, the word "I hope" means falling into doubt about this verse of Allah Almighty.
Yes. And if you bind your heart to Allah, mark this well, if you bind your heart to Allah, you have no sin that won't be forgiven. Yes. Even, if your destiny is good, even if you killed thousands of innocent people, thousands, even if you had killed thousands of innocents, you cannot say "my sin will never be forgiven". It will be forgiven. How?
If it is in your destiny, as I said, in Hajj, you go to Hajj. The Hajj.
On Hajj you circle the House seven times. Seven times you perform the sa'y between Safa and Marwa. You pray two rak'ahs at the Station of Abraham. After the prayer made there, Allah Almighty makes you spotless. "As spotless as on the day your mother bore you," He says. The sin is gone. Well then, what about the thousands? For those you killed, Allah will cover all the atonement and give them reward up to certain stations. How Allah will reward whom, how He will reward, how He will save; what else does He have that never crosses our minds?
"I sent one percent to the world," He says. "I kept ninety-nine for Myself, to forgive." "To pardon. I kept 99% of My mercy for Myself," He says.
These all fall within the 99%.
This world will pass anyway. As long as the Hereafter is good.
So once a person is forgiven, there is no "I hope". He will take refuge in Allah. And there is no sin my Lord won't forgive. "My sin... I've bound my heart to my Lord. From now on I'll live Islam as much as I can, I'll walk on my Lord's path." Once he says that, Allah gives reward upon reward. And to those he defrauded, or those he tormented, for his sake He will give as much as they wish from Him. He will give until they are satisfied. Now let me give another verse on this. Martyrs, for (?) the saints, the awliya, some of them have the right of intercession. They will intercede for from 7 up to 70 people.
On their faces, now on the faces of those who intercede, neither sorrow nor stain will settle, it says. How can this be? Well, He didn't create man without fault. If prophets have slips, then of course these do too. It's not that it can't be. What does it say? Neither sorrow nor stain settles on them. What does that mean? A man will come and say, "I had a claim on him too." Okay. How much is owed? This much. "Here," He says to me. "There," he says, "I suffered torment." "Here," he says, "I want a bit more." "How much do you want? If I give you this, will you be satisfied?" "No." "If I send you there, will you be satisfied?" That was what he wanted anyway. He goes to Paradise.
"Oh, fine. I forgive my claim," and he hugs him and kisses him. That stain is lifted from him.
And the sorrow: his mother and father are sinners but Muslims. They'll go to Hell.
That's the sorrow. He intercedes for them too. He lifts that sorrow from him. How beautiful. Now who would not be devoted to such an Owner, such a Creator, such an Allah, such a Being who addresses him, and not surrender? If not, to whom would he surrender?
If man ties his mind to the world's haphazard way of life and fixes his eye on the garbage-heap world, he mortgages his mind to the one who will give him that world, and turns his back on the One who created it. This verse is Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 17. What does it say? They explained it wrongly too. They, that is the disbelievers, in darkness, in the dark of night, it gives the example of one who kindles a fire. But they can't kindle a fire. Where would they kindle a fire from? People were in darkness. In Surah Ibrahim. They were in darkness. Allah sent before them prophets and books, sent scholars, He says, so they'd come out into the light. You come into the world.
You don't know what to do in the world. Allah Almighty gave you a mother, a father, sent prophets, sent scholars. He held a light before you for what you would do.
The disbeliever can't light a light. He says it to the disbeliever, to the non-Muslim. They were in darkness, it seems. One who kindles a fire in darkness, it seems. When the fire lit up its surroundings, Allah... how they slander Allah. Look, Allah removes their darkness, removes their light, leaves them in darkness, it says. Look, can Allah be like that?
Whereas, when they were in darkness, Allah kindles a fire in the darkness. This fire is Allah's Holy Quran. This fire is the prophets He sent, those scholars; when that fire lit up its surroundings, that is, when the Quran, the prophets, the scholars lit up the surroundings, those who turn their backs on this light leave themselves in darkness.
They've written a translation. A translation. What translation?!
The words of Zionism. Yes. Which one? He said verse 24, sir; again Our Bayramiye says: with respect, my question is Surah Ta-Ha 125-126-127, can you explain them? Of course, Surah Ta-Ha. Now all of them, at this hour, the time is up; let's explain it, let's explain this one too, and the rest next week, if Allah grants it, if we're alive, we'll explain. Surah Ta-Ha.
Which does he say? 125 125 From 124 Hodja, it'd be better if we start, 124, better to start from that verse. Shall we start from 124? Yes Hodja. Whoever turns away from remembering Me, surely he will have a straitened life, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection, it says. Blind.
I said earlier: if a person doesn't trust Allah and trusts people and expects gain from people, his heart is always in distress.
We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection, it says. This is a word said in a figurative sense. Otherwise he isn't blind.
In verse seven of Surah Al-Baqarah: They had their hearts sealed, plugs in their ears, a kind of veil drawn over their eyes. They don't see the truth. They don't see the truth. There in the other realm, when He said "I am your Lord", the spirit, nafs, soul, before entering the body, when we made the covenant, those who denied the truth there went blind. Went blind there. Couldn't see, couldn't recognize, didn't recognize. He came to the world; Allah sent scholars, prophets, sent books. Here too he didn't see the truth. In the Hereafter too he is blind. Now there's no way out for him. Indeed.
"My Lord, why did You raise me blind? Though I truly used to see," he says. Look. Why blind? Figurative meaning. Now here the person turns to rebellion. "I was seeing, that is, I was hearing, listening. I too was with Your servants," he says.
Well, in 126 Allah says: Thus it is. Because Our verses came to you but you denied them. Look, today this is the recompense for what you denied, He says. What is it? "This is your punishment," He says. Because you didn't see the truth; you actually see. "If you didn't see, you couldn't speak with Me anyway," He says.
What does Surah As-Sajdah, verse twelve, say? "We came, we saw. Is there any return to the world?" they say. "We came, we saw, we heard," they say. Read that, Surah As-Sajdah, verse twelve.
Otherwise they aren't blind. They're blind while looking. If only you could see when those sinners hang their heads before their Lord: "Our Lord, we have seen, we have heard; now send us back to the world so we do good deeds, now we believe with certainty," they will say. So they aren't blind. Look, they say "we saw".
They aren't blind. That is, spiritually: you denied Me here. Since there is no god but Me, you saw the god you sought, you didn't see Me, He says. You didn't see. "In the world I sent you prophets, sent scholars," He says. "You didn't see them either," He says. "Today here too," He says, "just as you didn't see them, you don't see Me." "You look and you see Me, but your heart still denies Me," He says. Because your seed doesn't change. You were sealed from the very start. Yes. There's a veil on your eye. "You are still blind, you don't see Me," He says. Another meaning here: you are lying; though you see Me, your inside is in rebellion.
In rebellion. His rebellion: when burning in the fire of Hell he'll say to Malik, "Tell your Lord to lighten the punishment on us a little."
And he'll say: "You will remain like this here." The more he burns in that fire, the more his rebellion against Allah grows. As his rebellion grows, he waits for the lord he expects. "He'll come, he'll come. They'll take revenge on Allah." That's why even there he can't turn back. Because that's the essence. That's the nature.
That's why Allah Almighty speaks there: "You are blind," He says; "here too, Me" He says, "you see, but inside you, deep within," He says, "with your mind, are you trying to deceive Me?" "You are blind here too," He says. Yes. Whoever strays from the right path and doesn't believe his Lord's verses, thus We punish, it says. How beautifully put. The punishment of the Hereafter is surely more severe and more lasting. The torment you suffer in the world is temporary; this torment in the world, three days, five days, a month, a year, forty years like Job, but its end is mercy, He says. "But the Hereafter is not like that," He says.
The Hereafter is lasting and permanent. And in the end they'll remain as logs of fire. Now is this world worth it, for a temporary life of a few hours? Why do I say a few hours? This world: a thousand years here is like one day of the Hereafter. Here, if a person lives sixty, seventy years, it's as if he lived an hour, an hour and a half; that's what he lives. We live time within time. So is it worth it, for an hour or an hour and a half here, to be swept up by this world and turn your back on Allah? Yes.
Indeed.
I suppose we've read the verses here, right?
It's finished anyway. One left here. As-salamu alaykum, sir. I respectfully kiss your blessed hands. My question: Al-Ma'idah 115. In this world or in the Hereafter? He says. Can you explain this? May Allah be pleased with him. Is he saying Al-Ma'idah? No, no, Al-Ma'idah. Al-Ma'idah 115. Let's see.
Al-Ma'idah.
115.
Allah said: I will surely send it down to you. But whoever of you disbelieves after this, I will punish him as I have punished no one in the universe, He says. Now if we read this from the one before: Jesus, son of Mary, said: O my Lord, send down to us a table from heaven, to be for us, for the first and the last of us, a feast, and a sign, a miracle from You.
Who is saying this? Prophet Isa says it. Jesus says this, but the disciples make Jesus say it. The disciples. And Jesus says to them, "Do you not believe?" "We do believe," they say, "but so that our hearts may be at ease we ask," they say. And so Allah Almighty, and Jesus says this to Him. To Allah Almighty. "Provide for us; You are the best of providers," he says. And so Allah said: "I will surely send it down to you," He says. But whoever of you disbelieves after this, I will punish him as I have punished no one in the universe, He says. This punishment is for the Hereafter, not for this world. "In the world My mercy has surpassed My wrath," He says. My mercy. Now, is there no wrath in the world?
There is. Who are they?
Those who ask Allah Almighty for a miracle and then deny the miracle: Allah Almighty destroys them. The people of Prophet Salih.
"Bring out a camel for me," they said, "so I'll believe you." From the rock, from the rock he brought out the camel. Then they cut the camel's legs, and it died. And they were destroyed. Whoever asks Allah Almighty for a miracle and after that miracle doesn't believe, Allah Almighty destroys those lands.
the people of Prophet Lut, because they did evil. Noah Flood: they didn't believe in Allah. He destroyed them too, with water.
The people of 'Ad were scorched by heat; a cloud came; "let's shelter under the cloud," they said; with one blast they collapsed on their knees there, and stayed. Allah's... Allah, what He said at the beginning, so it is at the end. When Allah brings forth a miracle, He destroys the people who deny it. Now this, since destruction was lifted, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), since destruction was lifted, whoever denies this: the disbelievers. He has stamped them as disbelievers already. "Your punishment is in the Hereafter," He says. "It is very severe." In the fire. And the fire; it says it all.
The verses confirm one another beautifully. Yes. Stay well. Go in Allah's care. For the sake of Allah, Al-Fatiha.
Amin, ya Rabbi. He'll probably say recite Ya-Sin. Come on, to the prayer.
Alhamdulillah. Let's close this too.
Like this. Renew your ablution.
