Translation

And they (mü’min) are the ones who protect what they are entrusted with and who fulfill their promises.

Tafsir

Believers never lie and never resort to lying. Believers are trustworthy people. They do not deviate from Allah's commands in the face of worldly wealth, and they do not usurp anyone's rights by being deceived by the world. Therefore, when a trust is entrusted to these people who are trustworthy, people can entrust their property to them with peace of mind, as they have no doubt about getting it back from them.

In these believers, in order not to take anyone's rights upon themselves, they write down where and to whom they belong, and how much they owe and to whom they owe it, and they keep it in a safe place with a written paper, in case something happens to them or they owe it to someone else. They also keep a writing in this place, saying that if anything should happen to me, my will is in such and such a place, and they instruct someone they trust after him to return the relics to their places.

As believers are faithful to their trusts, they are also faithful to their promises. In response to the verse that no creature can be as faithful to his word as Allah, and the hadith that says, "Be moralized with the morals of Allah", believers want to be very faithful to their words based on this verse and hadith. Thus they work to earn the pleasure of Allah (swt).

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 8. And they, those believers who are faithful to their trusts and their promises. Here Allah Almighty is listing the qualities of the believers. What does He say? And they, those believers who are faithful to their trusts and their promises. In a hadith the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: Do not make a promise to a believer. If you do, fulfil it, he says.

The believer keeps to that promise, he waits. He does not forget. The believer does not forget a promise. Nor does he forget the promise he gave.

So he expects it from that person.

Some time ago in Ankara our Mehmet Polat said to me, I will make you a ring.

With an agate stone. He took the measurements of my finger.

Time passed. I went to Ankara. Hodja, welcome, he said. As he kissed my hand, I said: hand over the trust. Give me what you owe me, I said. I did not forget, I do not forget. He immediately took the ring out of his pocket; he had also made a spare one with a green stone, he brought it and gave it to me. Neither did he forget nor did I forget. So he is a good person. He is faithful to his word. Who, he says, is as faithful to his word as Allah? The Prophet also says: take on the character of Allah. Look, how beautiful. So the believer too: do not make a promise to a believer, if you do, fulfil it, he says.

Here again: and they, those believers who are faithful to their trusts and their promises. A trust. If someone entrusts something, he keeps it better than his own property. Than his own property. And if he entrusted something, he never forgets it. And he wants to get his trust back just as it was.

Do not use a believer's trust. Look, I repeat. Do not use a believer's trust. If you use it, you take on a sin.

You will have taken a believer's right upon yourselves. So if you give property to a believer, the believer keeps it better than his own property and hands it back to you in the best way. These are the qualities of a believer.

Yes.

Believers never lie and never resort to lies. Believing people are trustworthy people. In the face of worldly goods they do not step outside Allah's commands, and, deceived by the world, they do not usurp anyone's right. Nor do they usurp his right. Therefore, when a trust is left with these trustworthy people, since people have no doubt about getting their trusts back from them, with peace of mind they can entrust their property to them. Yes, these believers too, so as not to take anyone's right upon themselves, while an entrusted item is in their charge, or while they owe someone a debt, since Allah's decree may come at any moment, they write on paper where the trusts are and to whom they belong, and also how much they owe and to whom, and keep it safe somewhere.

And about the paper he keeps safe there he says: if anything happens to me, my will is in such-and-such a place. They tell someone they trust that after them the trusts should be returned to their owners.

Believers are like this. Praise be to Allah. Now I have a trust with me. The association's cash box. I took this out of necessity. The association's cash box. Apart from this I owe nobody anything. I owe my life to Allah alone.

I fear a trust very much. A trust. If someone entrusts something to me I keep it in the best place and I tell fifty people about it too. That is, I tell many people. This belongs to so-and-so. If anything happens to me, give it to him, I say. Yes.

So, just as believers are faithful to trusts, they are also faithful to their word. No created being can be as faithful to its word as Allah. In response to the verses, on the hadith "take on the character of Allah", believers, on this verse and hadith, very much want to be faithful to their word. Thus they strive to earn the pleasure of Allah Almighty.
