Translation

The deniers are always in doubt about it (Qur’an). Until that hour comes upon them unexpectedly, or until the torment of a short day comes.

Tafsir

Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter and disbelieve in the Prophets and the Holy Qur'an are always in doubt about the Qur'an until death comes to them suddenly or the punishment of a short day.

The torment of a short day means that a thousand years in this world is like a day in the Hereafter. According to this situation, a person can live like a few hours in this world in his lifetime. Also, since hours are units of time in the world day, a day in the world is as short as seconds compared to a full day in the Hereafter. So when the torment of a short day comes to man, that is, when death comes, that is when man realizes the truth. Life is at the end of its rope. The doors of repentance are closed. The realms of truth have been shown to him. At that time, neither repentance nor belief in the Hereafter and the Qur'an will benefit him. Because it is in their nature not to believe in Allah, they will live the same life when they reach salvation, and they will not give up their disbelief, and they will not be able to get rid of their doubts about the Qur'an. So their repentance will no longer benefit them.

What is said in the video

We have come to verse 55 of Surah Al-Hajj.

Those who disbelieve, when that hour comes upon them suddenly, which hour? The hour of death, the moment of death. What does it say? You will be neither an hour ahead nor an hour behind. Why? Here it doesn't say second or minute; it says hour. Sometimes a person's breath stops. He can stay like that for a while. Even if the heart stops, the brain is working. His brain is working. As long as the heart cannot be brought back, the brain dies after a while. That is where death begins. This also takes time. So this, too, is an hour. It gives us its signal. Neither an hour ahead nor an hour behind. Yes. Now the meaning of the hour becomes clear.

The last breath, there is no other, he doesn't take it, and the heart has stopped too, but the brain is active. Once the brain cells are finished, death has begun. Yes. Those who disbelieve, when that hour comes upon them suddenly, or until the punishment of a short day comes, are always in doubt about it, that is, about the Quran, they are.

He insists on applying it. His own nafs feeds him its whims. If the Quran is true, let this happen, let that happen. If Allah exists, let this happen, let that happen. That person never thinks: Allah gave me a mind. Look, within this reasoning: if this were made up by a human, it says, it addresses the mind, there would be many words in it that contradict each other, it says, if it were made up by a human. Well, since it is not made up by a human, instead of saying Allah exists and affirming it, or that man has been equipped with knowledge, and that this universe was created with knowledge, that this order could not come into being by itself, that some power, some being, whichever a person likes, brought it about, although every mind grasps this, we will call it weakness of faith.

Or people fall into doubts because they do not use their minds. Yes. Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, who deny the prophets and the Holy Quran, when death comes upon them suddenly, or until the punishment of a short day comes, are always doubtful about the Quran. Why? They are in doubt. Now, did we write a little about this verse here? We did. We wrote it here too. Let me also open this up a bit here, so that it's, um, what am I saying? So that it's reinforced. Now, until the punishment of a short day comes, they are always in doubt about the Quran. When that hour comes suddenly, that is, when the moment of death comes, until the soul reaches this (?) bone here, the door of repentance is open.

In one narration, the door of repentance is open until it reaches the rooster bone here. After that, the door of repentance closes. What is the reason? At that very moment Allah Almighty manifests Himself to that person. He shows the worlds. The world of the Hereafter. The person says: send me back, I will worship You. Even if We sent you back not once but several times, you would do the same thing, it says. There, the door of repentance has closed. The soul has come to the throat. What does it say here? There he sees the truth, but since there is still rebellion in his heart, he says with his tongue: I will worship You.

He does not affirm it with his heart. If he had affirmed it with his heart, Allah Almighty would take away that eternal world of hell in the world of the Hereafter as well. That is why one must know this place, this moment well. The moment of death. İzâ beleğati'l-hulkûm, it says. When the soul reaches the throat, come on, bring it back then. Ve nahnu akrabu ileyhi minküm ve lâkin lâ tubsırûn. All the relatives have gathered and wait for his soul to depart, it says. In Our power, are you closer to him, or are We, it says. That is the hour; it shows that moment. This is that moment. Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, who deny the prophets and the Holy Quran, when death comes upon them suddenly, or until the punishment of a short day comes, are always in doubt about the Quran.

What is meant by the punishment of a short day: a thousand years of the world are like one day of the Hereafter. According to this, in a human lifetime a person may live in the world as if for a few hours. Moreover, since hours are units of time of the worldly day, compared to one full day of the Hereafter, a day of the world is so short a time that it could be called split seconds. In this case, when the punishment of a short day comes to a person, that is, when death comes, that is when the person understands the truth. The soul has reached the throat. The doors of repentance have closed. The worlds of truth have been shown to him.

At this time, neither a person's repentance nor his believing in the Hereafter and the Quran is of any benefit to him. Like what?

When Pharaoh, saying I believe in the Lord of Moses, fell down in prostration in the Red Sea, Pharaoh, who had denied seven miracles: now, it says, you believe in Me, now that you are about to die? This is what happens now. Now you believe? it says. I will leave you as a lesson for the worlds. I will save your lifeless body, it says. Yes.

What beautiful examples, always; the verses, the examples always supporting one another like this; as one reads, if you read penetrating deeply into it, this gives a person delight.

Because not believing in Allah is in their nature, when they attain salvation they will live the same life again and will not give up their denial. Nor will they be able to rid themselves of doubts about the Quran. For this reason, their repentance is no longer of any benefit to them. Yes.
