No nation can bring closer or delay the time of their end.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) has given every human being his/her will according to his/her desire and will. The destiny of these people is written for them as their fate. Within this destiny, a certain life span has been assigned to them. No human being can either bring this life span forward or extend it. Suppose a question like this came to the mind of a human being: If I do not commit suicide, I will live. If I end my life myself, if I commit suicide right now, wouldn't that bring my life forward? Or if I don't commit suicide, wouldn't I be extending my life? Yes, you could not bring your life forward and postpone it. Your life was going to end when you committed suicide, so you committed suicide and ended your life, or you were going to live, but you gave up suicide. Because according to the covenant you made, your life is as long as it is. If Allah did not know what would come to people's minds, the world would be full of coincidences and people in the world would be fighting each other. Allah has programmed His creation by creating everything in an order and regularity. No one can go beyond this program and God's appearance.
What is said in the video
Yes, Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 43, yes,
No nation can bring its term forward nor postpone it.
In another verse our Lord says:
Once your life is fulfilled, not an hour forward nor an hour back remains. Yes.
Allah Almighty, in line with each person's own desire and wish, has given them their aim. These people's aims have been written for them as destiny. Now pay attention, what does our lifespan depend on?
Pay attention to this.
Our lifespan, here too we will probably explain some of it, I don't know.
Let us tell you here what our lifespan depends on. Or let us tell how long it is, how it is. We make a covenant with our Lord. Our being able to live this covenant, to fulfil our desire and wish, according to the surroundings and environment we are in, and that desire and wish of ours, up to the end of our life, in how many breaths we can complete it, our Lord knows this. Accordingly He gives us that number of breaths as our lifespan. And for as long as that number of breaths lasts, after completing what we will desire in life, what we desire, and what kind of person we are, up to that last breath, we die.
Yes. After that, not an hour forward, not an hour back.
I suppose this part is now well understood. Allah Almighty, in line with each person's own desire and wish, has given them their aim. These people's aims have been written for them as destiny. Within these destinies a certain lifespan has been appointed for them. That is, this lifespan, the Lord, that is, the appointment of this lifespan: Allah Almighty does not say, you will live fifty years, you a hundred years. According to your desire and aim, as I explained just now. In how many breaths you will fulfil that desire and wish according to your environment, according to life's conditions, and how you will prove yourself in this way, Allah Almighty knows this. Accordingly He writes the number of breaths as your lifespan.
That is what we are trying to explain here. Within these destinies a certain lifespan has been appointed for them. No person can bring forward or extend this appointed lifespan. Suppose such a question came to a person's mind: now, if I did not commit suicide, I would live; if I ended my own life, if right now I committed suicide, would that not be bringing my lifespan forward? Or if I did not commit suicide, would I not have extended my lifespan? Yes. You could neither bring your lifespan forward nor postpone it. Your life will end with your committing suicide. And you committed suicide and ended your life.
Or you were going to live, you gave up on suicide, because according to the covenant you gave, however long your life is, that is how long it is. Had Allah not known what would come to people's minds, the world would be full of coincidences, the people in the dominion would fall upon one another. Allah created everything within order and arrangement, and what He created He has programmed. Beyond this program and (?) no one can go.
