What is Qadr? Why is it called the Night of Qadr? Qadr is the name of a place at the Sidrat al-Muntaha. The Holy Quran, from the Preserved Tablet, all at once, on the 27th night of Ramadan, Allah Almighty sent it down to the place at the Sidrat al-Muntaha called Qadr. To the place called Qadr.

Because the Holy Quran came down to Qadr all at once, Allah Almighty said this in His verse. The Night of Qadr is better than a thousand months with no Qadr in them, it says. On that day, that night, the world, it says, the world, the heavens, I mean, is secure until morning, it says.

On that day, or that night, the Spirit and the angels descend to the earth, it says. Now, if the Spirit and the angel descend to the earth, is Azrael an angel? Israfil? Gabriel? If Gabriel is an angel too, where is the Spirit?

Allah Almighty says to you: they ask you about the spirits. Say: it is a command of my Lord. In that case, since the word of Allah Almighty rests on letters, since in the Quran He calls Gabriel Gabriel, Michael Michael, Israfil Israfil, if the Spirit had been Gabriel too, Allah Almighty would have spoken the way people like us normally speak, with the words of ordinary speech. Like what? I say 'gelin'.

'Gelin' can be a bride in veil and tinsel, or it can be 'come here'.

Sir,

for example, if you say 'çaldı' on its own, you understand a thief: stole. But if you say the bell 'çaldı', you understand that the bell rang.

The word of Allah Almighty is free from words like ours. Since it rests on letters, if He calls Gabriel Gabriel, and of the Spirit He says: they ask you about the Spirit, it is a command of my Lord, then the whole Spirit is Allah Almighty.

He gave a particle, a tiny bit, of His Spirit to the Prophet (peace be upon him). From his spirit He created the spirits of the prophets. And from the spirits of the prophets He created the spirits of their peoples. In this case Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran about man: We created him the noblest of creatures. We made him superior over the worlds, He says. Why is he made superior? Because of his spirit. Because Allah Almighty gave man a particle of it, because He holds man as one addressed by His essence, because He sent down His word to people and addresses people with His word, people are the noblest of creatures.

Non-Muslims too? As long as he lives in the world he is the noblest of creatures. But in the verse it says: they are like four- legged beasts walking on the earth. Why does it say that? Allah Almighty has religious rulings He has sent to people on earth. Allah Almighty has sent His laws so that man behaves in a way befitting his honour and dignity. In this case, if this man turns his back on Allah's laws, then he lives on earth like the four-legged beasts.

But since His mercy in the universe is for everyone, since every person comes to the earth to prove what kind of person he is, and since that person carries a particle, an attribute, from his Lord, Allah Almighty has created the children of Adam honoured above the worlds. Yes. So, an angel, if the angels, if Gabriel is an angel, the Spirit is not Gabriel. When He says the Holy Spirit, Allah Almighty means His own essence. His essence. For example, let us first define the spirit, and after that we will continue our lesson, our talk a little. Sir, He says: I sent My Spirit to Mary. They say Gabriel.

Gabriel cannot breathe the spirit of Jesus into Mary.

Now one must speak with verses. Not with the capacity of reason. When we speak with reason, we get into dead ends. But the verses shine a light before us. In His verse Allah Almighty says: only Allah knows what is in the wombs.

They had written it in the old books: whether it is a girl or a boy. And we, shouting and shouting at them, finally got them to listen to what we said, to listen to what we said. When it is said that only Allah knows what is in the wombs, its meaning is this: having created our spirits in the realm of Lahut, when Allah Almighty made a covenant with our spirits in the address Alastu bi-Rabbikum, He raised them to the realm of Barzakh. So from that realm of Barzakh, whether it will take a girl or a boy, which girl, which boy, with which person it will be tested in the best way, Allah knows this. Because taking it from there and placing it into that womb happens by Allah's command, it says: only Allah knows what is in the wombs.

Otherwise, once it has turned into matter, we know too. Yes.

So He first made a covenant with our spirits, then raised us to the Barzakh. The spirit whose time has come, that particle, brings that person into the world. After that person has proved what kind of person he is, he completes his life span; every soul shall taste death. According to the words of the verse that says your return is to Me, he will again go straight back to the waiting place. So because the spirit is only in man, he is honoured above the worlds. Because the whole Spirit is Allah Almighty, as the Creator, the Lord, the Owner of the worlds, as the absolute power, Allah Almighty symbolizes His essence with the Spirit.

In this case He says: the angels and the Spirit descend to the earth. Descend to the earth. So Allah Almighty's honouring the earth with His presence; this man has gone astray, they say. He has made Allah bound by time, they say. Do they say it? They do.

And how beautifully the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: tell people according to the measure of their reason.

After proving this with verses, after proving that the Spirit is only Allah, then, when the verse says the angels and the Spirit descend to the earth, now, is this man you say has gone astray saying this, or is the verse saying it?

Yes, if you cannot understand the verse, of course you will attack the person who tells you the truth with superstitions. If I have gone astray, then you prove that the Spirit is Gabriel. Since they are already ruled by superstitions, about the Prophet it says: when there covered the Sidrat al-Muntaha that which covered it; Gabriel, they say.

When it says: then he drew near, about two bows' length, Allah revealed to His servant; Gabriel, they say. Well, did Gabriel rise above time and space and reveal?

These things I say weigh very heavily on people whose minds cannot grasp them. But we prove these with verses. Yes. In this case, since on the Night of Qadr Allah Almighty sent down His Holy Quran to the region called Qadr, our Lord, whose essence is holy, also descends to the earth. Is He in one place? Your mind accepts Him as being in one place. Your mind accepts Him as an attribute. Whereas Allah Almighty, adorned with the attributes of His essence, constantly changes form. Allah Almighty appears in many places on the earth at one moment.

These words of mine are lacking. I mean, He appears in many places on the earth; my words are lacking. He also appears in every age of the earth.

Since He gave a particle of His essence to the Messenger of Allah and from his spirit created billions of people, think of the manifestation of the essence of the whole Spirit everywhere; just think. It does not fit into this universe. Yes.

For this reason, why is the Night of Qadr precious? It is precious out of reverence for our Lord. Not out of reverence for the angels. Since no being as honoured as man has been created, man is superior to the angels too.

Yes. In this case, the Night of Qadr, even though it fell on the 27th night of Ramadan, just as each year, according to the lunar month, it moves back 10 days, right? Ramadan moves back 10 days each time. I mean, if it is the 20th of July, it falls to the 10th of July. It falls to the beginning of July. Or else it falls to the 20th of September. That is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) also says: seek Qadr after the 20th of Ramadan on the odd nights. The odd nights. After the 20th it already makes 10 days, 9 days. It may fall on the 21st. It may fall on the 23rd. It may fall on the 25th. It may fall on the 27th.

It may also fall on the 29th. Yes.

Let's say if it falls on the 27th twice in a row, once it falls on the 21st. Then it falls on the 23rd. Then it falls on the 27th. Then it falls on the 25th. Then it falls on the 29th. Then it falls on the 27th.

It moves around like this. And you move around too, on the odd nights.

According to a sign, according to a spiritual sign, tonight, by Allah's permission, is the Night of Qadr. God willing. Let us say God willing.

Saying it for certain belongs to Allah alone. Yes.

In Turkey, Qadr, by Turkish time, between 12 and 12:15, 1:15, 1:30, manifests in between. If you catch it then, you catch it. After that it passes.

They call it the opening of the gate of heaven, but it is not the gate of heaven. It is the writing of the Most Beautiful Names on the sky. All beings prostrating to it.

One day they take me. Spiritually. Like this, in a waking vision. We go. We came to a certain place. I go up high. A guard post. Quite a guard post as we know it. And at the guard post sits a person I know from Samsun, someone of my neighbour's. He sees me: oh, Metin, welcome! Glad to be here. Places laid with red carpets. Carpet. In a little while, he said, we will write the Majestic Name, he said. Up there, he said. A tower just like our towers, from there the Majestic Name will be written on the sky. The Majestic Name. That is the Night of Qadr. Sir, if you wish, you can watch too, he said to me.

As I was climbing that tower, I came to. I came to myself. Now people say the gate of heaven opens, this happens, that happens; it is all stories. Our Lord raised us by letting us live it, by showing it to us. Yes. That is why, today, or tonight we will say, until morning everywhere is safe.

The universe has been programmed that way until the Day of Judgement. For the Night of Qadr, until the Day of Judgement, the earth is in a state of safety. Yes.

If you ask: on the Night of Qadr, apart from spiritual things, have you ever come across anything outwardly, I have.

He said exactly this: for us there is no behind a closed door, he said. Right? The same words. He said the same thing to your face. Yes. And after that he said: we will pray two rak'ahs and go. They went upstairs. And I went up there after you, to say to him: why did you talk to my Hodja like that? I looked, there was nobody. I turned back and came down. You said to me: Hodja, there is nobody, right? you said. No, I said, Hodja, I said. You started laughing.

Yes. We lived through this event. The Night of Qadr is a precious night. Why is it precious? Each of us has someone in the world we long for. Either our mother, or our father, or our child. Right? We have been far away. We have been far away. We are going to be reunited with them. They have boarded. They are coming by vehicle. We will meet them at the station. Right? We will embrace them. This is even beyond that. This is our Lord who created us. With the love of that longing and affection, on that Night of Qadr, even if we do not see Him, in the same way, out of reverence for our Lord, by remembering Him and on that night doing a little more in our duty of servanthood to Him, by repenting and asking forgiveness, what are we doing?

We attain our Lord's mercy. Yes. That is why the Night of Qadr is the night of welcoming our Lord. It is not a word to be brushed off with words like: sir, the Holy Quran came down, it is just a holy night, like that.

Surely it is understood what the Night of Qadr is. Nobody will tell you this as openly. Why won't they tell you? They don't know, so they don't tell. They don't know, so they don't tell. Yes. And we are trying to make it heard by people. But ah, some of those who do not come say: he ascribed attributes to Allah, brought Him down to earth. Yes.
