Al-Ma'idah 34: However, those who repent before you defeat and capture them are excluded from this (if they don’t repent from their hearts but repent out of fear, it is not accepted from them). Know that Allah is Ghafoor (Forgiving) and Raheem (the One who very generously accepts repentance).

Translation

However, those who repent before you defeat and capture them are excluded from this (if they don’t repent from their hearts but repent out of fear, it is not accepted from them). Know that Allah is Ghafoor (Forgiving) and Raheem (the One who very generously accepts repentance).

Tafsir

However, if they repent and realize that what they have done is evil and surrender themselves to Allah, Allah will forgive them. However, if he has killed a man, the right of the parents of the deceased is reserved. He can either pardon this murderer or have him killed.

But since forgiveness is Allah's glory, He recommends His servants to forgive people's faults. Allah is forgiving and protective and merciful.

If such people do not surrender of their own accord, they will be killed or captured by the forces of the state, and the punishments mentioned in the above verse will be imposed on them.

What is said in the video

In the verse — look what the 34th verse says. Except those who repent before you overpower and seize them. Know that Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. Now this verse proves the interpretation of the verse I explained a little while ago. Its interpretation. What did we say? Their punishment — if, using force, using force, they seek to abolish the religion of Islam for us, then you may kill them. Remember, He says their punishment is death — people who destroy the order of truth and seek to abolish the religion of Islam, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger. When He says their punishment is death, what does He say?

This verse brings clarity to that. Except those who repent before you overpower and seize them — do not kill them, He says. Because of their not repenting out of that fear after you overpower them, that is, even if they repent, before you first overpower them (?). Except before you overpower and seize them — for after they are defeated, after being seized, they may repent out of fear as well. Even for that there is leave, that is, not to kill. (?) know that Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful; so you too, He says, forgive them. If they use force against you, declare war on Allah and His Messenger, set out to destroy the order of truth and use force, then this verse supports that.

Then, against them, there is fighting. However, if these (?) repent, realize that what they did was evil, and surrender of their own accord, there is pardoning them. But if he has killed someone, the right of the victim's next of kin is preserved.

If he has killed someone, then the right of the next of kin is preserved. He may forgive.

If he wishes, he pardons this killer; if he wishes, he has him executed. But since forgiving is part of Allah's glory, He also recommends to His servants that people's faults be forgiven. And Allah is both Most Forgiving and the Protector and Merciful toward people. If such people do not surrender of their own accord, by the forces of the state they are either killed during the clash, or, if taken into custody, the penal sanctions mentioned in the verse above are applied to them.
