And We made Mary and her son, as signs (by Our might) and placed them to a hill which was suitable to inhabit and also had water.
Tafsir
It is the conception of Hazrat Maryam by the might and power of Allah (swt) of Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him), without the touch of any man's hand, in order to show people His greatness and majesty, that Allah (swt) is eternal and Lord, that there is no other God but Him, that Allah (swt) has power and might, and that He has the power to create whatever He wills.
Then, when rumors started to spread about Hadrat Maryam, when Hadrat Jesus spoke while he was still in swaddling clothes, when he said that he would be a Prophet, and when he informed the people that there was no God but Allah, Allah revealed His miracles before the eyes of the people and showed His might and power to the people, again as miracles of Allah.
Then he placed them in a high place on the edge of a stream. According to the commentators, this place is shown as many places. According to Hazrat Ibn Abbas, it is the Bayt al-Muqaddes, and according to other scholars, it is Dımışk, or Remeke, or Egypt, or Palestine. In my opinion, when Hadrat Maryam was taken by Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm' to be raised by him, and the other monks in the synagogue also claimed Hadrat Maryam, they went to the riverbank and threw a pen in the water, and whoever's pen floated to the surface would be the one who would claim the child. The pen of Hadrat Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm' floated and Hadrat Maryam was raised by Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm'. They may have settled in a fertile and high place in this stream. And this is Palestine.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Mu'min, we have come to its fiftieth verse.
And the son of Mary and his mother We made, by Our power, a sign. The son of Mary, and by Our power, We made a sign. Here
Mary's becoming pregnant in the world without (?),
Jesus coming into the world without a father, in one verse our Lord says exactly: the coming of Jesus into the world is like that of Adam, He says. Like Adam's coming into the world. In this case We sent Our holy spirit, He says.
Who is the holy spirit? The whole spirit is Allah Almighty. The pitiful people who describe the spirit as Gabriel — that Gabriel is not the spirit, that Allah Almighty's word is upon letters, that in the Noble Quran He addresses Gabriel as Gabriel, and that in the verses reading 've Cibrîle ve Mîkâle ve (?)' He mentions their names in that way — in this case, these wretches racing to ascribe attributes to Allah, who blind their eyes so as not to see the truth, who stop their ears, who turn their backs on those who explain the true meanings of the verses — such people.
Far from it. We are not prophets. There is no prophethood. But there is telling the truth. Just as those people turned their backs on the prophets who told the truth, if these people too, like Pharaoh's army and Pharaoh's gang, with the superstitious knowledge they have made, try to (?) the truth, if toward those who tell the truth they grow arrogant, what difference is left between them and Pharaoh's gang, his army?
So Gabriel is Gabriel. The spirit is not Gabriel. The whole spirit is Allah Almighty. What He calls the holy spirit is His sending a part of His Self. The one who gave a part of His Self to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is Allah Almighty. The one who created the spirits of His prophets from the spirit of the Prophet is Allah Almighty. The one who created the spirits of so many peoples from the spirits of the prophets is Allah Almighty — when 'spirit' is said, that each of us is a part from our Lord, that we are a part — this we must know. But we are creatures. That is, we are created ones.
Don't let it cross your mind that this man is a follower of wahdat al-wujud. We are creatures, created ones. The creature — the one who creates in measure of its desire is Allah. Because He values us so much, He created us close to His Self with a part of His Self. He created a likeness of His Self. Yes. In this case, those who describe the holy spirit as Gabriel, these people — people's
existence, how will they prove it?
They cannot say there is no spirit in man.
They cannot say man is compared from the body, only with the body. If they do say so, they are people who have directly denied Allah's existence and His oneness, and their words, as far as Allah Almighty has made known to us, have no value in our view. First, if you too know there is a spirit in man, and if Gabriel is a spirit, then what difference is left between you and Gabriel? Are you Gabriel too?
A person's ear will hear what comes out of their mouth, and they will know where the word they speak goes. If today he shows the front of his hand and tomorrow shows the back, saying it's not the front, if this person's one word does not keep the other alive, if the evidence of these people who have taken on superstitions gets somewhere and there they address people, adorn people with superstitions, tell them superstitions and judge them by superstitions — tomorrow at the Supreme Court, before Allah Almighty, who will save these people? Where this person should use his mind and, where he sees the truth, take the truth and be a servant to Allah and of the ummah of His Beloved, instead the person who falls under Satan's yoke with his nafs and pride — tomorrow at the Supreme Court, how will he give account?
What does it say? 'And the son of Mary and his mother too We made a sign by Our power,' He says. He created him without a father. She became pregnant without a father. He did not stop at creating man from clay. Into the mother's womb, into the virgin Mary, without a father, He placed the spirit of Jesus.
We settled them on a hill with water, fit for settling, He says. Whom? Mary and Jesus. For Allah Almighty to show people that His Self is everlasting and Lord, that there is no god besides Him, that Allah is the possessor of power and might, with the power to create whatever He wills, and to show His greatness and majesty — that is our mother Mary becoming pregnant, without any man's hand touching her, by Allah's power and might, with Jesus (peace be upon him).
Then, when gossip about Mary arose, again as Allah's miracles, Jesus (peace be upon him) speaking while in the cradle, saying he would be a prophet, and making known to people that there is no god but Allah — with this, Allah poured out His miracles before people's eyes and showed people His power and might. How do they gossip about Mary? Her people say to Mary: 'O Mary, your mother was not a bad woman.' 'And your father,' they say, 'was a very honourable man.' 'Where did you get this child from?' they say. Upon this Allah Almighty says to Mary: 'I am fasting today, point to the child,' He says.
And she, by a sign, 'I am fasting,' points to the child. 'How,' they say, 'can we talk to this child in the cradle?' Just then Jesus begins to speak. Still in the cradle, newly born. There is no god but Allah. 'I,' he says, 'am Allah's servant and Messenger,' he says.
When he speaks out here, Allah Almighty has shown His miracle. Then He settled them on a rather high place, by flowing water. According to the commentators, this place is given as several places. According to Ibn Abbas it is Jerusalem; according to other scholars it is Damascus, or Ramla, or Egypt, Palestine. Accordingly, when Zechariah (peace be upon him) took our mother Mary to raise her, and the other monks in the synagogue also laid claim to our mother Mary, they go to a stream and throw in a pen. Whoever's pen comes up above the water, he will have the child. He will have the child.
The pen of Zechariah (peace be upon him) comes up above the water, and Zechariah (peace be upon him) raises Mary. So, at a fertile and high spot of this stream they may have settled. And this place, we say, is Palestine. It is Palestine. Yes.
