Oh people of the Book! Do not cover the Truth with falsehood despite that you know the Truth.
Tafsir
Although the description of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was written in the Books in the hands of those who were given the Book, they were deliberately concealing the truth. They did their best to mislead people and to prevent the spread of Islam, and they did not refrain from telling all kinds of lies. This reveals their ignorance and shows that they do not know Allah (swt). If they had known Allah, they would have realized that no one can oppose Allah's will and they would have obeyed Allah, the Exalted.
They thought that by hiding the Verses of the Book in their hands, and by seeking to mislead people, they could prevent the Book and the Messenger sent by Allah. Those who had such a delusion increased their own disbelief, and increased their cruelty to their own souls. Of course, people with these characters, those who think that they are scholars because they can read and write, will be persecuting themselves by staying in the swamps of disbelief, thinking that they are living in the lap of ignorance and that their dark paths are bright, confusing the wrong with the right. These traits were given to them in the past according to their desires and wishes. People who live their own desires and wishes in this life and enjoy this life are in a state of pride and grandeur, do they think of Allah? No, of course these people will create confusion and mischief.
Their deliberate concealment of the truth, the fact that a prophet did not come in accordance with their desires and wishes, and that they thought that they were created superior to other people, and that they were proud in this belief, and that they did not value other people, and that the prophet who came was not what they expected, increased their hatred against Allah (swt), and in their broken pride, they deliberately tried to conceal the truth.
What is said in the video
Verse 71 of Surah Al-i Imran: O People of the Book! Why do you mix the right with the crooked and knowingly conceal the truth? it says. In the books in the hands of those who were given the book... This part, we read it, didn't we? Didn't we read it? We are just starting. Yes, in the books in the hands of those who were given the book, although the description of Muhammad (peace be upon him) was written, they knowingly concealed the truths. To mislead people, so that the religion of Islam would not spread, making every effort they could, they do not refrain from telling every kind of lie. I think we read these parts.
These states of theirs, by exposing their own ignorance, show that they do not know Allah Almighty. If they knew Allah, they would explain that no one can oppose Allah's will, and they would obey Allah, who is (?). We left off here. We came this far and stopped.
We already explained up to here.
By hiding the verses of the book before them, by wanting to mislead people, they thought that the book and the Messenger that Allah sent they would hinder. These people, in the Torah, with their rabbis at the head, changed many verses. Verses, in exchange for worldly things. So Allah Almighty, in the Holy Quran anyway, says: do not sell Allah's verses for a few pennies, do not sell them. Like this, do not sell them. Do not change them.
People who think they will settle everything with money, they could not know that the owner of the dominion is Allah; according to the verse saying the inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, all souls will taste death, and again this universe will remain to Allah. In this case people are within this dominion in a guesthouse, and the materials of this guesthouse Allah Almighty gives them as a trust. And although they know that all these trusts belong to Allah, with that majesty in their nafs, against Allah's (?) their coming out. In this case, by hiding in their homes the verses of the book, by wanting to mislead people, the book Allah sent and the Messenger, they thought they would hinder them.
That no one can prevent Allah's will they could not know. Allah Almighty says in His verse: when We will something, We only say to it 'Be'. And it is. But of course this saying 'Be' is not of sound and letter. Yes, so Allah Almighty, in His verses: the religion of Islam, the name Islam, I gave you. And in the verses of the Holy Quran no distortion nor any distortion is made, He says. We sent it down, and We are its guardian until the Day of Judgment, He says. Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, He says. Did they think they would extinguish Allah's light by blowing with their mouths?
He says. Isn't that so? These are just some verses, many verses. In this case, people, how will people wrong their own selves? So in that Elest-i Rabbiküm address, Allah, by turning their backs on Allah, those who wait for the Lord of their own imagination, their opposing the verses of Allah Almighty and proving in the world what kind of people they are; tomorrow, on the Day of Judgment, in that supreme court, in the presence of Allah Almighty, who is Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, they will have no words left to say. Yes.
Those who fell into such an assumption increased their own kufr and increased their wrongdoing against their own selves. Of course, people with these characters, who, because they can read and write, think themselves scholars, living in the lap of ignorance, and (?), mixing the crooked with the right, remaining in the swamps of kufr, will have wronged themselves.
In our time too, the same events appear. Allah's verses are not only for that time. Even among ourselves, within Islam, these events appear. People who are unaware of the verses of Allah Almighty: I want to draw your attention here. When I say unaware, I do not mean those who do not read Allah's verses, or who do not feel them, but those who are unaware of their meanings. And those who understand the verses backwards. In this case, those who judge by superstitions. When we convey the truth to them, they immediately stand up against us.
People who proceed on the superstitions they know, when they see the truth, say: we are finished. They say this. What will become of us? Then we are finished, they say. And, blessed one, is there a time for returning to Allah? If you saw yourself as finished, and if you saw that this, as truth, is Allah's word, your suddenly turning away from those superstitions or errors you knew and suddenly holding fast to Allah's knowledge would perhaps raise you, in the position you are in, to much higher, loftier places. But your own nafs, (?), and the temptation Satan gives you, your pride and arrogance, your inability to leave the position you are in, and in the face of their saying 'look, he followed these', or out of fear of going against them, your being with those people: this is your own (?) to yourself, both to yourself and to your surroundings, and also to Allah Almighty.
So every person will sit down and (?) his own state.
Yes.
What did we say here? Of course, people with these characters, who, because they can read and write, think themselves scholars; we explain these parts in a veiled way, veiled. There are many more meanings too. Living in the lap of ignorance, and (?) to dark paths, mixing the crooked with the right, remaining in the swamps of kufr, they will have wronged themselves.
We see this among ourselves too. Muslims too know the truth. This is right, it is truly the truth, he says. Then I am finished, he says, what will I do, he says. He cannot turn back again; he continues on the same path. Yes, these traits were given earlier according to their own desires and wishes. These traits, earlier, to themselves; where? At Qalu Bala, in the address elestü bi rabbiküm. He had his own will, his desire and wish, written for himself, by himself, as destiny. Otherwise Allah Almighty did not say to him: you will live possessing these traits. Every person's, what do we say, desire and wish, will, became his destiny.
No one can fit Allah into his mind and give Allah Almighty attributes. People who live their own desires and wishes in this life and enjoy this life, because the verse said so, will make life enjoyable in that way, because they are in pride and majesty, will these think of Allah?
How will these escape from pride and arrogance, from majesty, and how will they give up their own ego and return to the verses of Allah Almighty? Because he enjoys that life, he enjoys that world. He enjoys it. Yes.
(?). Of course these people will stir things up and drown everything in mischief. Their knowingly concealing the truths, in line with their own desires and wishes, so that a prophet would not come, and, thinking they were created superior to people, taking pride in this assumption and not valuing other people, and the prophet who came coming outside their expectations, increased their grudge against Allah Almighty, and in their wounded pride they knowingly tried to conceal the truths. Probably.
