(Remember) when the disciples said “Oh dear Jesus, the son of Mary! Can your Lord send down from the sky a table (with food) for us?” He replied; “If you believed, then fear Allah”.
Tafsir
In order that the hearts of the Apostles might be satisfied, they asked Jesus, "Jesus! Can your Lord send down to us from heaven a table laden with food? Jesus replied that if you are believers, fear Allah.
The Apostles' proposal to Jesus in this way was so that their hearts would be satisfied and they would be convinced that they were Muslims, and they would devote their lives to the religion of Allah by putting light upon light in their hearts. And in fact, the apostles tried to spread the religion of God by hiding, by risking their lives, by facing many dangers.
Those people came and went from this world. Everyone held Allah (swt) himself as a witness with his deeds. He is the one who wins the world and the Hereafter and attains the mercy of Allah.
