Should their clergy and scholars not have told them not to say sinful things and not to eat that which is forbidden? Wretched is their performance.
Tafsir
(If only the religious leaders and scholars had told them not to say sinful words and that it is a sin to eat haram!) With this verse, he informs us that these people, especially the clergy, are leading these people into error and that they are not doing their duties in exchange for the world, that they change the places of verses in the Books (Torah) in exchange for a few money, that these people do not warn people not to say words that are sinful, and that their scholars and clergy are sinners because of them.
It is clear from this verse that there is no other religion on earth except Islam, according to the verse (inneddine indallahil Islam), and that if Islamic scholars do not fulfill their duties, if they do not tell people the truth, or if they do not warn them of the punishment, they will be under a great burden.
Such a people live on the earth under the curse of Allah for their deeds and actions, as a sinful people, scholars and commoners alike. Allah (swt) declares that they are a people who are a shrewd and corrupting people among the people. These people show themselves to be good to people. But can you imagine how hostile they can be to Allah, Who has revealed all their qualities to people, and to Allah's Verses and to those who are judged by Allah's Verses? How evil are their deeds? With this verse, they are on a bad path, except for a few of them, because Allah knows their state and condition.
What is said in the video
I guess we understood each other, Göksel. Yes, in Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 63, it says: if only their religious leaders and scholars had forbidden them from saying sinful words and eating the unlawful. Why? Scholars: Allah Almighty raises them. Or else they, saying on Allah's path we will be close to Allah, being honoured with Allah's religion, while they themselves do not act at all on Allah's path, in this way, as though going against their Lord's (?), supporting people. So He says it to them. What does He say? If only the religious leaders and scholars had forbidden them from saying sinful words and eating the unlawful; how evil are the deeds they commit, He says.
He says it to those scholars too. Now, we have a knowledge. There is a Western knowledge. There is Quranic knowledge. And now there is (?) knowledge too. With (?) knowledge I can give people very nice fatwas.
In a way that pleases people.
Then I become the person (?). Yes. So why does Allah Almighty raise people? So that they tell the truth, say what is right. Let them relieve people's troubles on earth, people's troubles on earth. That is, let them answer their distress, let them comfort them. What is the scholar's aim anyway? Why does Allah Almighty send the Quran? So that people find their way and live in peace. In this case these people too, since they say we are scholars, to those who eat the unlawful and commit adultery, if only they made Allah's command known, He says. So how evil a thing they do. They are in it together. Even worse, saying Allah said so, in place of Allah, into His book, into that book of Allah, with their own tongues, by the judgment of their own minds, insertions they inserted.
Yes. The religious leaders and scholars, from saying sinful words, from eating the unlawful, He says, you know; with this verse, that above all the religious leaders led these people into error and did not do their duties for the sake of the world, that for a few coins they changed the places of the verses in the books in their hands, in the Torah, that they did not warn people against saying sinful words, that their scholars and religious leaders too are sinful because of this, He makes known to you, Allah Almighty. So if I say I am a man of religion, I am a man of religion, I have stripped down for my Lord, I will tell people the truth, it is a very thought-provoking matter.
Why do you object where you hear the truth? Why do you flare up when you hear the truth?
Then what is your difference from these religious leaders this verse speaks to? They take the books, they read them. They say to Allah (?). They push it aside, the (?) book. They go by what they themselves know.
So because they are with their nafs, because they are together with their nafs, because they set out with the passion to be the head, people who lose their own heads. This is a hadith. Whoever falls into the passion of being head, he says, loses his own head.
So if you live the religion of Islam by your own mind, give fatwas by your own mind and steer people outside the verses, (?) the verse says: if only the religious leaders and scholars had forbidden them from saying sinful words and eating the unlawful. How evil are the deeds they commit? What is the deed they commit?
Saying Allah said it, God forbid, words Allah did not say they tell people. By their minds, they keep telling, keep telling by their minds.
They topple stones so much bigger than themselves that how each of them will get out from under that stone, Allah knows.
Those who run not after the ones telling the truth but after superstitions, those who tell those superstitions to people, those who take the verses lightly and tell them by interpreting them away, interpretation. In this case how will these people on the Day of Resurrection, before Allah Almighty, at that great court, give account, Allah knows best. How does it say in this verse now: on earth, inne'd-dîne inda'llâhi'l-İslâm. According to the verse, there has been no religion but Islam. When the scholars of Islam do not fulfil their duties, do not tell people the truth, or do not even (?) them, do not give people warnings, they too will come under a great burden, it makes known to us.
Yes, a great burden. First we will learn our religion. Allah Almighty in every age, in every age, scholars who keep His religion alive creates and sends. Who keep His religion alive. What does Allah Almighty say in the verse? Do they think they will put out Allah's light with the (?) of their mouths? Allah will complete His light until the Day of Resurrection. How will He complete it? With the scholars He raises like this He will complete His religion. Well, the words of these scholars Allah Almighty raises, if you do not listen to them,
if, occupying a certain place, you do not tell people the truth, if, being at the head of a group, you tell people superstitions, and if, standing against those who listen to the truth and side with it, you accuse those who tell the truth, you, tomorrow at that great court, how will you answer before Allah Almighty? Now, while we are at it, someone has got stuck on something. He got stuck on the Qutb al-Azam. I will not say his name. This is probably someone who listens (?). He says, I know the Qutb al-Azam. It is the person in Adıyaman, he says. Our Hodja too, he says, explains the verses very beautifully, but when he said I am the Qutb al-Azam I was surprised, he says.
I was surprised. As far as I know there is one Qutb, he says. I mean, there is one Qutb al-Azam, he says. You know, the Ghawth, the Ghawth, he says. Isn't it among the (?)? The Ghawth. There is one Ghawth, he says. Ah, and there are three Qutbs, he says. But I cannot understand these, he says. It is clear that he is sincere here. I mean, he cannot understand some things. He listens to us, but, I mean, he is also puzzled. That happens. Now, people can be friends of Allah.
They can be saints. But the duty of the Qutb is different.
Now, if that child of ours is listening to us, inshallah this will be a good lesson for him too.
A saint visiting a saint does not mean Ghawth. A saint recognizing a saint does not mean Ghawth either. What does Ghawth mean? He is a mujtahid, a mujtahid.
It is telling people Allah's religion. His religion. And with the verses, with the verses, in those verses, the superstitions in their explanation, he is the one who corrects the superstitions of wrong explanation. He is charged with a duty by Allah. That is the Ghawth. The Ghawth of the time. That is, the Imam. Now, out of a beautiful sincerity a person can be a wali, can be (?). No one knows anyone's state. Does not know, and no one can object to anyone either. He can be a good person. Well, (?) says, he says, I want you to see that person, he says. Because he is the Ghawth, he says. With the Ghawth there are 492 wrongly explained verses.
Why did he not correct them? If he is the Ghawth. If he is the Ghawth, why does he not (?) his students with superstitions, with such words? That among his students, the spirit is everywhere, in the cat, in the dog, in plants, they hold. And then, hearing it from us, they correct some words. Of course they should correct them. They will hear, they will correct. The Ghawth has a duty. A Ghawth does not become a Ghawth sitting where he is. The Ghawth, the superstitions inserted into Allah's religion, cleans away. Them, the verses, according to the time he explains. According to the time. And to the world, to the world he tells it.
To the world. Even if he had thousands, hundreds of thousands of students, sitting where he is, by name one does not become Ghawth. By advertising one does not become Ghawth.
Yes.
That is why a person proving himself as Ghawth is not important at all. I mean, we have no need at all to prove it. But we have a need to inform people. To inform. What happens if you call us Ghawth?
Well, what happens if you call us common folk? Say what you like. You look at the words that come out of your mouth. That is, in the light of the verses. Does it truly befit a Ghawth? Are the verses explained that way? Are there words that contradict each other? In these verses, are there things (?), or blunders the hodja made, any such events? Look at those. Those will take you to the target. To the target. They will take you to understanding better. Well, he says he is a grandson of the Prophet. I am also a grandson of the Prophet. If he is a grandson of the Prophet, I too am a (?) grandson of the Prophet.
But Ghawth does not pass from father to son. Look, as with the sultanate, Ghawth does not pass from father to son. Well, within a certain time, in proportion to the covenant he gave Allah Almighty, by the words that come out of his mouth, where he stands, people know anyway. Me, if you tell me you are common folk, you are welcome, say it as much as you like. By you telling me, you cannot put your finger on what is between me and Allah, you know; you can only say it. But if I call out to the whole world in the light of the verses and the whole world too I try to inform, I try to inform the whole world, here, with these (?), wrong and right, a person who does not even warn his students about it, if you call him Ghawth and he too keeps silent, you both fall into sin. You both fall into sin.
Because you lead people astray.
To me, to me, I accept nothing that is not (?). If I were not charged with a duty, even if they called me charged, I would come out into the open. I would say I am not charged. I would say I am not charged. But if I am charged, I say I am charged. And I do not set out to prove that with my own words. Pay attention to the works. Read the works. Look, is there any word in them that contradicts another? Pay attention to the works I wrote. I explain them. Is there any word that contradicts? More deeply. Think it over well in that way. I am calling to that child of mine. Think well. I am not saying you must know me in this way.
Do not let such a thing come to your mind. Know me however you know me. As long as you listen to the verses well and learn them well. That is what matters to me.
