At-Tawbah 96: They will take oaths so that you will be content with them. But even if you were content with them, Allah will never be content with a nation of great sinners (as long as they are on that path).

Translation

They will take oaths so that you will be content with them. But even if you were content with them, Allah will never be content with a nation of great sinners (as long as they are on that path).

Tafsir

Hypocrites and disbelievers try to make Muslims agree with them by swearing, swearing in the name of Allah, and making oaths to Muslims to make them agree with them. In the face of their hypocrisy, the Muslims who have the light of faith, out of embarrassment, pretend to agree with what they say. Or even if they appear to agree, Allah will never be pleased with this group of transgressors who are in that state. Because these people are the ones who create discord in the earth and pit people against each other. They are the ones who kill lives unjustly and oppress people. They do not recognize Allah, the Book or the Prophet, and according to the verse, they do not recognize anyone other than their own existence. For their interests, they wear all kinds of colors and pretend to be of everyone's religion. In fact, they belong to none of them. They enjoy all the blessings of Allah, but they do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. If such people, who are a group of transgressors, do not repent in this world and go to the Hereafter in this state, Allah will never be pleased with them. Even if the people who have the light of faith, with the tongues they have spoken to the people, pretending to be sincere, are ashamed of their degradation and forgive them and are pleased with them, Allah, who knows that these people are evil and malicious, will never forgive them or be pleased with them. Therefore, they will be deprived of Allah's mercy in the Hereafter. They will have no intercessor, nor will they have any helper.

What is said in the video

At-Tawbah Surah — we have reached verse 96, praise be to Allah. Here this verse has been, in the others, wrongly interpreted. Let us first read the wrongly interpreted one.

Let's take our book.

Surah At-Tawbah,

verse 96.

They will swear to you so that you may be pleased with them, it says. First. I am reading the wrong one. The wrong interpretation. Never let it cross your mind that the verse is wrong. God forbid, it wouldn't cross your minds anyway. You know, there are those who look for a calf under the ox. Although we (?) the truth, there are those who think they know something and come forward — my words are for them anyway. They — there is never any error in Allah's verses. They interpret wrongly. Yes. How did they interpret it? They will swear to you so that you may be pleased with them. But even if you are pleased with them, Allah is never pleased with the transgressing people, it says. Allah is never pleased with the transgressing people.

And the correct one: surely, so that you may be pleased with them, they will swear to you. But even if you are pleased with them, Allah, with the transgressing people who remain in that state, is never pleased. Within the transgressing people — this is the science of kalam, listen well. This is the science of kalam. Within the transgressing people, as transgressors by birth, there are among them people living as Muslims. Now when He says Allah is not pleased with the transgressing people, since the people living as Muslims within it will later turn to Islam, because people cannot know the Muslims among them, Allah Almighty would thereby have included them in it too.

This would mean that even if he had turned to Islam, He would not be pleased with him either. This is the first option. Allah Almighty is not pleased with the transgressing people — read that way.

The second option of this, because these change meaning by meaning.

Allah Almighty made a covenant with people in the first barzakh. As a result of this covenant, He gave them their wishes as destiny. So, since Allah Almighty could not know those who are Muslims within the transgressing people — could not know according to that covenant — He put them too, all of them, in one gang. When he later turns, when he becomes Muslim, well, yes, Allah was going to forgive him when he became Muslim, right? Then the verses would contradict each other. If this were made up by a human, they would find in it (?), it says. Then we would say: my Allah, You were not pleased with the transgressing people, but this man turned. You accepted him — how does this work?

Yes. Let there be no (?) at all in Allah's word. People who do not know this science of kalam always mix these up. That is why the science of kalam, in Allah's verses, so that they do not contradict each other, saves from attributing qualities to Allah. The science of kalam. What does it mean? Kalam is Allah's verses. Kalam is speaking. Allah's speaking. The knowledge that in those speakings nothing will contradict. Then how is speech that does not contradict? People who possess that science of kalam know. Yes.

What do we say? They will swear to you so that you may be pleased with them. But even if you are pleased with them, Allah, with the transgressing people who remain in that state, is never pleased. Now there you could ask a question like this: there is no text there like what you say. That is, "who remain in that state" is in parentheses there. With the transgressing people who remain in that state, Allah is never pleased. There is no such thing. There is no word. If you say "did you make this up?" — Arabic has no Turkish equivalent. Especially since Allah's word is based on letters, even Arabic is not enough for this.

Arabic is not enough either. But what does Allah Almighty say? So that the Quran may be better understood, We sent it in Arabic. So that the Quran may be better understood. So among languages it is understood best in Arabic. But since Allah's word is very much different, in order to understand it in its full meaning Allah Almighty sends prophets. After the prophets, He sends scholars as heirs of the prophets. So that verses with meaning within meaning can be understood in the best way, Allah Almighty teaches some sciences like these to that person, so that the person tries to explain the equivalents of the verses in the best way, the way our Lord said them, in their own language.

Yes.

Here something comes to my mind.

I always say this. From time to time we will remind of it often. Because our duty is to teach people. To teach people, to give them something, to make the truth heard to them, to make the truth heard. What comes to mind is this: these people who fall into the whims of the nafs, pride and arrogance, those who are (?),

instead of looking for faults, for faults in a person, if they tried to learn these words and tried to learn this science, and taught people something too, wouldn't it be much better? The words they have been combing through, they have been searching for years. Since they have found nothing, since they have found nothing, how come, though we have corrected so many errors, how come? People who still try to look for errors in these and look for faults in them, saying "we serve Allah", instead of holding fast to Allah's book — if they did not deceive their own nafs, and in the worship they do saying "we serve Allah", when they see the truth, accepted from it that lost property of theirs and shouldered the truth, in Allah's (?) they would reach much higher ranks.

Yes, they worship. They have their worship. But along with it they have whims of the nafs. When they see the truth, they cannot take it. They (?). Yet instead of using their minds and thinking, instead of thinking by using their minds, they go into a rage. In this case, those people who fly into a rage — since they knew this much, yes, since they knew this much, why until now did they not explain it to these people? Why did they not go out and explain to people, to these people in the world?

This makes one think. Yes.

You might direct a question like this at me in this case. Hodja, why didn't you go out and explain until now? You might direct such a question.

I had no outward knowledge. I have no Arabic either. I have not memorized the Quran either. If I had gone out among people, they would have said a deviant has appeared. I was patient. With what? I wrote a book. It has been over 15 years. Over 15 years. I wrote a book. I brought out another book. For roughly 8-9 years I have been explaining to people over the internet. I took the proofs in hand. The proofs. That is, I took the proofs in the light of the verses. Today even those who see themselves as (?) in religion, despite looking for faults in it, lay bare their own faults nicely. We all see this together.

So what I want to say is this: this human nafs is truly such an enemy to man. Believe me, not even the devil can do to man what the hostility of this human nafs does. The devil. Indeed, the devil too tempts man. But this nafs, the nafs — this sense of ego! Or those who say "I am right" and try to throw that truth upon falsehood, falsehood upon the truth! Instead of behaving this way, if they broke the whims of their nafs and saw the truth as truth and surrendered to it, took the truth, took what is right and were governed by what is right, they would be servants much closer to Allah. I always say: criticizing is easy.

Slandering a person is very easy. The tongue has no bone. If you truly know the truth — I always say it — I will become your student. Because I set out for Allah, I explain for Allah. For Allah my neck is sharper than a hair. I do not argue with anyone. If you speak the truth — but if you speak falsehood, I will stand up against you. I will stand up against you. Falsehood has no standing before the truth. In this case, if you come before me with falsehood, without any proof in your hand, purely out of whims of the nafs, though I explain the truth your eyes are still blind, and with that blind eye you still watch your surroundings like a drunkard's or a blind man's dream world, then what your rank is between Allah and you, to yourself, to those around and to Allah, how nicely you will have proven.

Allah Almighty constantly calls us to the truth, calls us to what is right. He gives glad tidings of paradise. He says hell is a very bad place. And I try to explain these things to people.

If you see this truth and stand against the truth, you will find me against you too. But if you have in hand proof of the truth against the truth, if you say it as truth, and I always use my mind. If truly, beside the word I have explained, through your proofs I understand Allah's true word, I will surrender to you. But please, before the truth, you too let yourselves into reflection a little, reflect, and God willing you will reach the state of distinguishing the truth and what is right.

So as long as that transgressing people remains in that state, in that state, Allah Almighty will never be pleased with them, in that state. But if they turn — Allah Almighty created us deficient anyway, created us fallible anyway. If you had not committed errors, We would destroy you on earth and create servants who commit errors, He says. What is the reason? The reason is that He gave us from His spirit. That He adorned us with the attributes of His essence and, with those attributes of His essence, from His own attributes gave us attributes, gave us forms. In this case, to behold His essence in people, to see it, Allah Almighty created people.

He made them honored above the worlds and, since He would not create a being equal to Himself, He limited their minds. He created them in need of His essence. So know your helplessness, He said, now. Know Me as your Lord.

Yes. So as long as they remain in that state, Allah Almighty is not going to forgive them. Nor is He going to be pleased with them.

The hypocrites and disbelievers, so that the Muslims are pleased with them, swearing oaths to the Muslims, pouring out all kinds of proofs, swearing by Allah, want to make the Muslims pleased with them. Before this hypocrisy which they show as excessive goodwill, the Muslims who possess the light of faith, since they hold back out of shame, act as if pleased with what they say. Or even if they appear pleased, Allah with this transgressing people is never pleased. Because these people are the ones who stir up strife on earth and set people against each other. Which Allah Almighty, again in a verse, says of them — toward you, He says — their hatred — if only you knew their hatred; when some harm touches you, they rejoice.

And when some good comes to you, He says, they (?). Yes, they feel hatred toward you, He says.

They are those who unjustly take lives, who oppress people. They do not recognize Allah, book or prophet. According to the verse "Have you not seen the one who deifies his nafs", they recognize no one other than their own selves. For their interests, taking on every colour, they appear to be of everyone's religion. In fact they are not pleased with any of them. They enter none of their religions. They benefit from all the blessings Allah gives. But they do not believe in Allah and the hereafter. Such people, who are a transgressing people, do not repent while in the world. If they go to the hereafter in this state, with these states Allah is never pleased with them. Since the proofs they pour out to people seem sincere, people who possess the light of faith, feeling ashamed at these people abasing themselves so, even if they forgive them and are pleased with them, Allah, who knows these people are evil and ill-intentioned, will never forgive them and will not be pleased with them either.

For this reason they will be deprived of Allah's mercy in the hereafter. They will have neither an intercessor nor a helper.
