Translation

There are some among the Bedouins who consider their spending (for the cause of Allah) compulsory and wait for a calamity to come upon you. The calamity they are waiting for has struck them. Allah is Samee (All-Hearing) and Aleem (All-Knowing).

Tafsir

And some of the Bedouins consider spending in the way of Allah as drudgery. That is, they see it as unnecessary. As if it is a burden on them and they are forced to do it. These people are found in deserts. Since they live far away from cities, unaware of civilization, it is very difficult for them to be educated. They are hard-tempered people because they remain ignorant. Bedouins with such traits are people who voluntarily chose the desert life when they made a covenant with Allah (swt). Since the life of these people is a life that is desired by them, the coexistence of people with the same character facilitates the dialogue between them.

There are Bedouins who have the same idea and character, and when they come to people living in cities and accepting Islam as their religion, there are those who accept Islam with what they learn from them, and there are hypocrites who appear to have accepted Islam for their own benefit, because they will benefit from the people in the cities, and there are hypocrites who pretend to be Muslims. There are also Bedouins who do not accept at all. These people are worse than the hypocrites and disbelievers who live in the cities because they live in the deserts in ignorance, away from school and madrasa, and have a harsh temperament.

These hypocrites of the Bedouins see what they spend in the way of Allah as a drudgery, that is, as unnecessary. They give reluctantly, considering themselves compelled to spend. They desire that some calamity should befall the Muslims. But the evil calamity they were waiting for has come upon them.

In terms of their character, the most suitable place for them to live in the world is the deserts of Karaparcha. In this respect, when these people made a covenant with Allah at the time of their covenant with Allah, those who inscribed these desires and wishes in their characters, before they came to this world, when Allah showed the living environments of the world to the souls in the form of a model, they chose the people and places within their own understanding in accordance with their own character, the age and time that each soul desired.

In this respect, since people's coming to the realm of property is also of their own will, Allah (swt) is not responsible for the times when people come.

For these Bedouins (they wait for calamities to befall you. The evil calamity they were waiting for has befallen them). With this verse, Allah informs people that their living in the deserts is a calamity. He says that the evil calamity they were waiting for has come upon them through their life in the deserts.

(Allah is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing.) Allah is aware of the movement of the particles and their movements because He has programmed His creatures into His very being. Allah is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing. He knows best what His creatures are capable of doing because He has programmed them by His Essence.

What is said in the video

At-Tawbah Surah — we have reached verse 98.

Among the Bedouins there are those who regard what they spend in Allah's way as a forced burden and wait for calamities to befall you. The evil calamity they await has befallen themselves. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Here come the verses I mentioned now. Slowly. Some of the Bedouins regard spending in Allah's way as a forced burden. "Forced burden" means empty, that is. Regards it as empty. That is, I give, but just like that. Like, get lost and leave me alone. Not because he believes. Like, because you asked, I give it to you. Not for Allah, that is. not, that is. Regards it as a forced burden.

That is, sees it as superfluous. As if it were a load on him, and they regard it as being compelled to a difficult act. These people live in deserts. Since they live far from the city, (?) from civilization, their being educated too is (?). Because they remained ignorant, they are harsh-tempered people. Bedouins with such traits have by their own will chosen life in the desert. Since these people's way of life is a life they themselves desired, and since people of the same character live together and get along with each other, this has eased the dialogue among them. That is, people who gave the same covenant of destiny better among themselves — so that they hold themselves witness to themselves, to those around, and to Allah Almighty, and so that they sustain their lives among themselves and, within the same mentality, these people live among each other in a way that takes pleasure in that life. So because the Bedouins' desires, wishes and thoughts are thus, Allah Almighty too, within these lives of theirs — on earth, He says, We divided you tribe by tribe so that you would be quickly recognized, according to the verse — them too, there, He creates.

When Bedouins of the same mind and character came to people living in cities who accepted Islam as their religion, from these — just as there were those who, by what they learned, accepted Islam in their affairs, those who for their interests appeared to accept Islam, since the city people would give them benefit, are hypocrites appearing as Muslims.

There are also Bedouins who never accept it. These people, living ignorantly in villages, far from school and madrasa, since they are harsh- tempered, are worse than the hypocrites and disbelievers living in the city.

The hypocrites of these Bedouins see what they spend in Allah's way as a forced burden, that is, superfluous; considering themselves compelled to spend, they give unwillingly. They wish for a calamity to befall the Muslims. That evil calamity they call (?) has befallen themselves. In terms of their character, the most suitable place in the world for them to live as land is the deserts. For this reason these people, who in the first barzakh, in (?), had these desires and wishes written for themselves as character — before they came to the world, Allah Almighty, the world's living environments as a model, showed to them.

The age and time each spirit desired, in keeping with their character, within their own understanding, they chose — the people and the places. When Allah Almighty made the covenant with people — this covenant, I always tell you, in this covenant-making, to people how Allah Almighty would give their own feelings as character — He shows the times. Just as an engineer would draw up a city's plan and display that city to people — people choosing by their own will a city they like, some France, some England, some Turkey, some Afghanistan, some, let's say, America, within their own understanding. So people choosing eras too, time and again, in this way according to their nature, is because Allah Almighty gave partial will into people's hands — that is the reason. Otherwise people could have said: You should have brought me in the Prophet's time too, or brought me in that time, I would worship You better — so that they would not say this. Allah Almighty, free of deficient attributes, by the attribute of Allah, in such a way that no person could question Him, programmed people according to their own desires and wishes, and there the scenario was written. By sending each spirit whose time has come into the world — its place, the people, its own mentality, and among those people, which person will prove himself better — Allah Almighty, who knows this, sends them, those people, according to the places they are in.

Yes, He sends them according to the places they chose.

So the hypocrites of these Bedouins, what they spend in Allah's way, like a forced burden, that is, as superfluous — they see it. We've read that paragraph. In terms of their character, the most suitable place in the world for them to live as land is the deserts. For this reason these people, who in the earlier first barzakh, in (?) had these desires and wishes written for themselves as character, before coming to the world, when Allah Almighty showed the world's living environments as a model to the spirits — the age and time each spirit desired, in keeping with their character, within their own understanding, the people and their places they chose themselves, we say.

Yes, as I just explained, these parts, if people verse 72 of Surah Al-A'raf had not seen, they could not possibly interpret these parts. And people's words like "how do you know" may (?) a question to people.

When people interpret the verses, according to Arabic grammar, within their own understanding they interpret.

Normally, that is the normal of an outward knowledge anyway. The normal of an outward knowledge. But however much they interpret, the right meaning they could not find, because they could not know. That is, since they could not know the exact equivalents of that verse, they interpret wrongly, incompletely. In this case superstitions and falsehoods enter religion.

Although such superstitions and falsehoods enter one by one, over time they multiply. They increase. They increase according to understanding. So Allah, with a scholar He raised (?), has these superstitions cleaned out. By having a scholar He raised clean out these superstitions, Allah will make His light heard until the Day of Judgment and keep His religion alive until the Day of Judgment.

We saw these events as they are when we made the covenant with Allah Almighty; that is why we say we are on duty. We will write, we will speak and we will explain.

All of this I have said, this paragraph I have written, is based on — Surah Al-A'raf, the covenant in verse 172. On the covenant. There it is shown to people. So we too — this time, the beauty of this time, in the way our hearts please, we want this time. Although Allah Almighty helps people, He never interferes in people's desires and wishes, and according to that time, according to their desires, according to their feelings, He programs them. Whatever those feelings were then — what I live is this, mine. I am telling it from my own self. What I live is the same. My feeling there and my feeling here are the same.

Only this much let me say. Just as Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said "I do not worship an Allah I have not seen", I am of his descendants, his descendant, his descendant.

I say the same word too. The same word. "Well Hodja, shall we not do it too?" — never let that cross your mind. This is a different word. Allah Almighty sent us to the world of the unseen. Our faith in the unseen: we are as if we have seen Allah in this world. Our faith in the unseen. Only having attained that (?), to prove to you that Allah is the truth, do we say this. We (?) Allah very much. At the same time, I love Allah Almighty more than my fear. More than my fear, more than my fearing, I love Allah Almighty. Because even if I fear, indeed I say, I will see my punishment. But in love, in love, to be worthy of Him, to be worthy of that love of His, is it possible that I do evil?

Because I love Him so much. For this reason my love has surpassed my fear. Just as Allah Almighty says of His wrath, My mercy has surpassed My wrath, my love for Allah Almighty has surpassed my fear. That's why I keep well away from things that would never please Him. But I am human, I have a nafs. Of course Allah Almighty created us fallible. We will have faults. For our faults we take refuge in our Lord anyway. There is no one without faults. This is not possible. This is not possible. Yes. Since that too is our Lord's command, we submit to it too. Because He created us fallible. Our minds are deficient.

Yes. That's why people, at that covenant-making, when they made the covenant, whatever time they wished from Allah Almighty, in that time they come and live.

They prove themselves better within that time. For this reason, since people's coming to the world of dominion is in their own will, Allah Almighty is not responsible for the times people came in either. We say — look, here too. My own feelings, always, in the light of the verses' meanings I write. Yes, so for these Bedouins: they wait for calamities to befall you. The evil calamity they await has befallen themselves. With this verse, their living in the deserts, Allah, to people as a calamity is known. The evil calamity they await has befallen themselves with their lives in the deserts, He decrees.

Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. Since Allah programmed His creations entirely in His essence, of the stirring of particles and their movements He is aware.

Allah Almighty is the Hearing and the Knowing. Since He programmed by His essence what His creations will do, He knows best. Yes.
