Vow to that; those who say; “Allah is surely Jesus, son of Mary” became infidels. Rather, the Messiah said “oh Son of Israel! Be servants of Allah who is my Lord and who is your Lord. Know that Allah forbids paradise to those who associate partners to Allah. Their place is fire and there are no helpers for oppressors”.
Tafsir
Whoever calls Jesus, the son of Maryam, the Messiah, and associates partners with Allah, they are disbelievers. However, Jesus, the son of Mary, was born fatherless from a mother by a miracle of Allah. Allah (swt) proves the existence of His Essence by showing His many miracles to people. Allah shows His miracles to people to prove that there is no other deity besides Him. Allah was not created by anyone, He was not begotten by anyone and He cannot be begotten. Allah is one. He has no partner and no partner. He is a single power in His sovereignty. He is the sovereign of all these created worlds and beings.
Whereas Jesus, the son of Mary, by saying, "My Lord and your Lord," he has declared to the people that they should worship Allah, who created me and you, and that he himself was created by Allah. The meaning of Lord is one of the attributes of Allah. It means creation. When Allah mentions the attribute of Lord, He is declaring that He has created by His Essence. If Allah (swt) is the absolute Owner and Lord of the worlds, then there is no other creator except Him. (La ilahe illallah) This is the essence of Tawheed.
In the first page and sûrah of the Qur'ân al-kerîm, the Fatiha, and in every rak'ah of the five daily prayers (Alhamdulillahi Rab'bil alemin), it means that there is no other God but Allah, the Creator of the worlds, and praise be to Allah, the Owner and Creator of these worlds. In this verse, the verse of the Lord is constantly recited. Therefore, any person who ascribes a partner to Allah and accuses Him of crimes with partners, increases his own disbelief. Allah (swt) has proved to us with verses that Jesus was also a human being and was created by Himself. In the following verses of this Surah, he will prove with verses that Jesus is not God.
(Serve Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah forbids him Paradise." With this verse, Jesus also says that he is a human being and was created by Allah (swt). Allah (swt) informs in the Books that Allah (swt) gave to His Prophets that the place of those who do not serve Allah (swt) and do not recognize Allah (swt) is fire. Prophets, on the other hand, fulfill their duties by inviting people to the truth by explaining the verses of Allah (swt) to people.
(He said, "There are no helpers for the wrongdoers.") Each verse bears witness to the fact that there is no God but Allah, and Allah bears witness to what Jesus told with His own mouth, and Allah bears witness to Jesus by telling His verses to the generations coming after Jesus. (He said: "There are no helpers for the wrongdoers.") This means: O people! No matter how much you associate Jesus with me and call him the son of Allah, those who believed in him in his time bear witness that this is not so. We are among those who bear witness. But you increase your own disbelief by ascribing crimes to Allah and rebelling against Him, not recognizing Him and associating partners with Him. And your abode will be the everlasting Fire. He warns people that you will have neither a helper nor an intercessor there.
What is said in the video
“Allah is surely the Messiah, son of Mary” – those who say this have become disbelievers. Whereas the Messiah had said: “O Children of Israel, serve Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord. Know that whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah has surely forbidden Paradise to him. His abode is the Fire, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.” Now, what did they say in the Gospel? Allah Almighty – these are verses from the Quran that are in the Gospel – what does He say now? By Allah, those who say Allah is surely the Messiah, son of Mary, have become disbelievers, He says. Whereas the Messiah, that is Jesus, said: O Children of Israel!
Serve Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord. Know that whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah surely forbids Paradise to him. In this case, if you try to prove the Messiah to be the son of Allah – actually Messiah means “precious”. And if you call the Messiah the son of Allah, or say Lady Mary, or say the three, and associate partners with Allah, then surely, surely you become one destined for Hell. Now, in this case, if we use our reason just a little. Not much. In this case. While this verse is written in the Quran in their hands, that is, in the Gospel, those who changed it – and perhaps it is even there.
I don't know, the original of this verse is there. Those in this situation – I don't suppose so – let the original stay where it is. In this case, if you say of the Messiah, of Jesus, that he is something to Allah, then by denying the verse you have gone into shirk, into shirk, and if Paradise is forbidden to you, what kind of religion is this, what kind of interfaith dialogue?
Now, I don't know if you can understand: what kind of religion is this, their religion, and what kind of dialogue? One who deliberately denies a verse of the Quran becomes a disbeliever. What does disbeliever mean? Destined for Hell forever. It means he went against Allah, was not pleased with his life, held himself above Allah, and so – Allah protect us – he will be in Hell forever. (?) although Allah Almighty states His verse clearly, now you make the decision. Is there such a thing as interfaith dialogue?
How can they say it without shame? They will try to justify themselves. Yet they will sink deeper and deeper. Into a swamp. Where will they try to justify themselves? They will say: sir, we are introducing the religion of Islam. As if they were introducing the religion of Islam. If you present the religion of Islam saying there is no religion other than Islam, if you present it that way, perhaps it brings them round to you, and you also slap them in the face. But you (?) their religion – come, although they know Islam – “what you call your religion, what I call my religion – come, let us set up a dialogue between us”, you will say. And you too will become a disbeliever by following their religion.
Because they say “interfaith”. You adopt that too. Whereas those who say what Allah Almighty did not say, what people said by their own reasoning, and say “these are Allah's verses”, who turn Allah's verses to their own interests, the irreligious – can they have a religion, that you call it a religion? You are denying Allah's verse. Yes. So what does He say? Look: by Allah, those who say Allah is surely the Messiah, son of Mary, that is, those who say he is the son of Allah, have become disbelievers. Whereas the Messiah – Messiah meaning “precious” – the Messiah said: O Children of Israel, serve Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord.
Know that whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah surely forbids Paradise to him. That is: if you call me the son of Allah, Allah forbids Paradise to you. His abode is the Fire. In this case, how can you (?) this, how can you say interfaith dialogue? May Allah reform them. May He grant them sound reason. Ours too. Those who say this deliberately and use it as (?) – may Allah grant them sound reason and reform them. Yes. “His abode is the Fire, and the wrongdoers have no helpers,” he had said – Allah Almighty. Jesus says it this way. Allah Almighty, swearing by Himself: whoever calls Jesus, son of Mary, (?), whoever associates partners with Allah, these have become disbelievers.
Whereas Jesus, son of Mary, was born of a mother without a father by Allah's miracle. Allah Almighty, showing people many of His miracles, proves His own existence. Yes.
Allah Almighty proves that there is no other god but Allah. Allah was not created by anyone, was not born, and does not beget. Allah is One. He has no spouse and no partner. He is the single power in His sovereignty. Allah Almighty is the sovereign of all these worlds and beings He created. Yes.
Dear Hodja, those who say “interfaith” and multiply religion have gone astray. People, religions – no, there is only one religion, and that is Islam. These have gone astray, forgive me, but they are people lacking reason. May our talks be blessed, God willing. Yes, and we prove their going astray with verses. We prove it in the light of the verses. I say nothing from my own mind. From my own mind.
If you say, “Don't you use your reason?” – how do I use my reason? Let me explain it to you. My Lord gives it to my heart by inspiration.
It is filtered in my brain. In the light of the verses. Do they support each other or not? Which contradicts which verse, which verse it supports. This happens in me within seconds. In the seconds until it pours from the tongue, a state appears in me as if I had forty years of experience, and I explain them. Yes, otherwise for these words to pour from the tongue and follow each other in the light of the verses would not be possible. This is a wisdom of our Lord. Yes. Allah was not created by anyone, was not born and does not beget – that is, Surah Al-Ikhlas. Allah is One, He has no spouse and no partner, He is the single power in His sovereignty, the sovereign of all these worlds and beings He created. Whereas the son of Mary, by saying to people “my Lord and your Lord” – my Lord and your Lord. My Lord: the One who created me.
In that sense. What is Rabb? Rabb is creating. Rabbi: creating. The attributes of Allah Almighty. For example, the attribute Settar. Sir, the attribute Gaffar. The attribute Settar; Gaffar: forgiving. He has many such attributes. Here too, Rabb means creating. Creating. That is why we say “my Lord”. That is, we say “the One who created me”. My Lord and your Lord. Meaning the One who created me and created you. Yes. Whereas Jesus, son of Mary, by saying to people “my Lord and your Lord”, said: serve Allah, who created me and you.
He created. That is, no child was begotten from Him. He created, that is, brought into being from nothing. He brought all our souls into being from nothing. First, within His own Spirit, He created the soul of the Prophet. Then from those souls He created the souls of these prophets. Then from their souls He created the souls of their peoples. So: my Lord and our Lord. Our Lord. My Lord and your Lord. Yes. Serve Allah. He made it clear to people that he himself, too, was created by Allah; that is what he declared. The meaning of Rabb lies in Allah's attributes. It means creating. If Allah mentions the attribute Rabb, He is making known the things created by Himself.
If Allah Almighty is the absolute owner and Lord of the worlds – that is, both their Creator and their owner. And in this respect, since the verses always confirm each other, He says: the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, know the remembrance of their Lord.
He has stamped His emblem on them.
That there is no god but Allah, that all created things were created by that one God – He has emphasized this. With what? The heavens and the earth and what is between them know the remembrance of their Lord. We (?) will not hear it, but the atoms of those substances and the nuclei of the atoms, while spinning around their own axes, make a sound. That very sound remembers our Lord. Yes. And what does David say? Let me remember You, my Lord, with the mountains and the stones. Let me remember You, my Lord, with the birds at dawn. He hears that sound. The sound those substances produce inwardly – his ears hear it, and with it he says this couplet.
Yes, if Allah mentions the attribute Rabb, He is making known the things created by Himself. If Allah Almighty is the absolute owner and Lord of the worlds, it means there is no other creator besides Him. From this comes tawhid: la ilahe illallah. Yes, from here the essence of tawhid emerges. At the same time, Allah Almighty supports the verse we mentioned with another verse of His. Every soul shall taste death; the heavens and the earth, and what is between them – their inheritance will remain to Allah. The verses always support each other beautifully. Because He created, and in the end He alone will remain in this world.
The trumpet will be blown, the Last Day will come. Ve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru ve'z-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın. Allah Almighty, who is the First, with the coming of the Last Day will be the Last. He, (?), (?) to the eyes that do not see, and of the hidden, the world of the hereafter – Allah, who is its owner. Yes.
So if we read this paragraph once more: whereas the son of Mary, Jesus, by saying to people “my Lord and your Lord” – serve Allah, who created me and you – declared to people that he himself was also created by Allah. The meaning of Rabb lies in Allah's attributes; it means creating. If Allah mentions the attribute Rabb, He is making known the things created by Himself. If Allah Almighty is the absolute owner and Lord of the worlds, it means there is no other creator besides Him. La ilahe illallah. From here the essence of tawhid emerges. Yes. In Al-Fatiha, the first page and surah of the Quran, five times a day, in every rak'ah of the prayer, saying Elhamdülillahi Rabbil Alemin means that besides Allah, who created the worlds, there is no other god, and praise be to Allah, the owner and creator of these worlds.
Yes, it reminds us. It means: there is no god but Allah, and of all these created things, from the atom to the globe, whatever has been created – praise be to Allah who owns them; that is what it means. Also, it means: because He created us as the noblest of creation, praise be to Allah Almighty. Also: to Allah, who gave us a part of His Spirit and (?) to Himself – praise be to Allah Almighty. To Allah, who created us as the noblest of creation and gave us a value above all the worlds, praise and glory be. Elhamdülillahi Rabbil Alemin. The meaning opens up like this. Of course: praise be. Yes.
It means that besides Allah, who created the worlds, there is no other god; praise be to Allah, the owner and creator of these worlds. In this verse He has “Rabb” mentioned continually. Then whichever person rises up and associates a being with Allah, and imputes guilt to Him by setting up partners, increases his own disbelief. Allah Almighty has proven to us with verses that Jesus too was a human being and was created by Him. In the verses that continue this surah, too, He will prove with verses that Jesus is not Allah – Allah Almighty will.
Serve Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord. With the verse: whoever associates partners with Allah, Allah forbids Paradise to him. Jesus, too, says that he is a human being, created by Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty makes known that the abode of those who do not serve Allah and who do not know Allah is the Fire, in the books Allah gave to His prophets – He makes it known. The prophets, Jesus, by telling people the verses and words of Allah Almighty, inviting people to the truth, are carrying out some of their duties.
So, as every Muslim knows, Jesus too is a servant created by Allah Almighty and one of the messengers of our Lord. He is a prophet.
“There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” said Jesus. Every verse – that there is no god but Allah, and to what Jesus told with his own mouth Allah too bears witness; the Living, Everlasting-in-essence Allah, to the generations after Jesus, by telling them His verses, bears witness to Jesus. “There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” he said. Its meaning: O people, however much you associate Jesus with Me, however much you call him the son of Allah, we and those who believed in him in his time are among those who bear witness that it is not so. But by imputing guilt to Allah, rebelling against Allah and not acknowledging Him, and associating partners with Allah Almighty, if you increase your own disbelief, your place will be the eternal Fire.
Yes. “There you will have neither a helper nor an intercessor” – so Allah Almighty warns people. Where is this? In the hereafter. When you are raised again – and they are unaware even of this. Let's not say unaware; they are in denial. They deny this too. Because if they knew that place, or if they knew – let's not say knew – if they had believed, as a Muslim knows that after death there is resurrection, resurrection in the hereafter – I learned. Amen. “I believed,” it says, “I had faith”: and in the angels, âmentü billâhi ve melâiketihî kütübihî – the books, ve rusulihî – the messengers, ve'l-yevmi'l-âhiri – the hereafter, ve bi'l-kaderi – destiny, hayrihî ve şerrihî – faith that all of it is from Allah. Had they known it like this, like a Muslim, sir, would they then have called Jesus the son of Allah?
Or would they deny the last one He sent, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him)? Or – like a light (?) coming out of a lamp – although their own words too are in the Quran, if these had believed in resurrection in the hereafter, would they deny the Quran too?
Well then, in this case, people living in heedlessness, who say “I am a Muslim” – again the talk comes back to that. Because our hearts burn. Living in heedlessness, like sleepwalkers, and (?) serving, yet being hostile to religion with what – would such people say interfaith dialogue? Yes.
Our hearts burn, but what can we do? As far as our tongue allows, we do our duty.
In Allah's sight there is only one religion. And that is Islam. As we always say, those who believed in Moses and applied the Torah are within the practice of Islam. Because those verses are in the Quran. Those who believe in the Psalms, who believed in David and carried out Allah's commands, who were ruled by those verses – they too are on the fitrah of Islam. Because they are verses from the Quran. Those who believed in Jesus in his time and who were ruled by those verses, who knew Jesus as a messenger and knew that the verses he brought were from his Lord – they too are on the fitrah of Islam. Because those verses too are in the Quran.
So apart from these: with made-up words, imputing guilt to Allah (?), the words Allah did not say, to suit their own selves, writing them, saying “Allah said it” and ruling by it – sleepwalkers; if only they were sleepwalkers – the dead. Why do we say the dead? Allah Almighty says: do not be among the dead. Not the dead in the grave. One whose heart has died. Who has turned his back on Allah. People who will never remember Allah. The dead. These people – which religion, patching it onto Allah, do they call interfaith dialogue? Let me tell you. Which religion are they patching onto Allah? “Have you not seen the one who takes his own self as his god?” – the people He means, who with their own desires and wishes make gods of themselves, who see (?), apart from their pride and arrogance, who recognize nothing but themselves, if indeed, gilding what they say, putting themselves in the position of god, they are ruled by what they say, and call their own words religion – the verse “Have you not seen the one who takes his own self as his god?” will come true.
Then in this case how can you say religions, how can you say dialogue? Have you no shame at all? Do you not fear Allah? Are you not ashamed before the Prophet? How can you deny these verses? Yes.
Surah Al-Ma'idah, verse 73. Before we get there, let us read the last paragraph once more. “There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” said Jesus. Every verse – that there is no god but Allah, and to what Jesus told with his own mouth Allah too bears witness; the Living, Everlasting-in-essence Allah, by telling His verses to the generations after Jesus, bears witness to Jesus. “There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” he said. That is, Jesus addressed you saying “my Lord and your Lord”. In this case, those who associate him with Me are (?) wrongdoers, says Allah Almighty. “There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” he said.
Its meaning: O people! However much you associate Jesus with Me, however much you call him the son of Allah, we and those who believed in him in his time – we and those who believed in his time, as I said a moment ago, those on the fitrah of Islam – are among those who bear witness that it is not so. That it is not so – that is, not as you say – of the disciples and of those who believed in Jesus, who believe that Jesus is Allah's servant and Messenger, who believe that the Gospel was sent by Allah – we too are their witnesses, says Allah Almighty. Yes. What do we say? “There are no helpers for the wrongdoers,” he said.
Its meaning: O people, however much you associate Jesus with Me, however much you call him the son of Allah, we and those who believed in him in his time are among those who bear witness that it is not so. But by imputing guilt to Allah, rebelling against Allah and not acknowledging Him, and associating partners with Allah Almighty, you increase your own disbelief. And your place will be the eternal Fire. “There you will have neither a helper nor an intercessor” – so Allah Almighty warns people. Yes. Now we come to
