Tafsir
Upon this verse, the Prophet (PBUH) took alms from their property. They are cleansed from the sins they have committed, and they receive Allah's forgiveness.
Even though they have received Allah's forgiveness and have been cleansed of their sins, they are still troubled because they have broken the heart of Allah's Messenger. They expect the Prophet (SAW) to be close to them. Allah (swt) said to the Prophet (pbuh), "These people are very upset because they have broken your heart. He says that your prayers towards them will give them a sense of forgiveness, and they will be comforted and calmed.
Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. Surely Allah hears and knows what people talk among themselves and whisper and what passes in their hearts.

And they hadn't gone because of this. By giving that wealth they will purify themselves. Now they will come out to you. And they will have repented.
With it you purify them from sins. You cleanse and elevate them. And pray for them. For your prayer is tranquility for them. It calms them. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing, it says. The Prophet came as a mercy to the worlds, you see. He came to perfect good character, you see. O My Beloved! Your prayer for that community of yours, your prayer for those Companions, brings them tranquility. How will it bring tranquility? I (?) the verse "You do not speak in vain" about you, He says. So if you pray for them, I will give their hearts peace, He says. With that peace they attain tranquility, He says.
How beautiful. The verses always support one another so beautifully. Yes.
Upon this verse, the Prophet (peace be upon him) takes alms from their wealth. And they, being purified from the sins they had committed, become worthy of Allah's forgiveness.
Although they have been purified of their sins by attaining Allah's forgiveness, they are distressed because they broke the heart of Allah's Messenger. They are waiting for the Prophet (peace be upon him) too to show them closeness. So Allah Almighty saying: Pray for them. For your prayer is tranquility for them – His saying this to the Prophet (peace be upon him) means: Allah Almighty says, these people, because they broke your heart too, are very sad. Through the prayer you make for them, understanding that they have been forgiven, it will comfort them, they will be brought to tranquility, He declares, it says.
The Prophet – Allah Almighty, to the Prophet: Your heart was broken too. But they too, knowing that they broke your heart, are in sorrow, He declares. Pray for them, let them feel that you have forgiven them, He says, let them understand. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Surely, people's conversations among themselves, their whispering, and what passes through their hearts – Allah hears and knows. Yes.
