Translation

Verily, after the hearts of a group from the Muslims became twisted, Allah forgave the Prophet, the migrants and the helpers who followed him during hard times. Then, Allah accepted their repentance, because towards the servants, Allah is Raouf (Gracious) and Raheem (the One Who very generously accepts repentance).

Tafsir

When the Prophet (s.a.w.) set out on the expedition to Tabuk, the hypocrites were allowed to stay back and stay with those who were sitting, and the hypocrites muddied the air by stirring up trouble among the army. They caused the hearts of a group of Muslims to bend with words such as, "How can you go on an expedition in this heat, the road is difficult, and there is a shortage of mounts and provisions? For a group of Muslims, the hardship and fatigue of the journey grew in their eyes. When they were about to become discouraged, they came to themselves and repented for these feelings in their hearts. Allah (swt) informs mankind of this situation and says, "We, the Almighty, know their condition and what is in their hearts, so We accepted their repentance and forgave them.

When a nation goes to war, the hypocrites among them want to demoralize the Muslim armies by making the other side look very strong. Ignoring the words of such people, Muslims should take advantage of this opportunity to sell their property and lives to Allah (swt) in exchange for the Hereafter. (Allah has bought from the believers their property and their lives in exchange for Paradise (which will be given to them)) According to the verse, Muslims strengthen their faith and wage jihad against the armies of polytheists and unbelievers, asking for Allah's help, knowing that if they die they will be martyrs and if they live they will be veterans, and in these feelings, seeking Allah's pleasure.

It is because the muhajirin and the ansar, whom we call ashab, were close to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) in his most difficult times, that Allah forgave their sins. Because Allah (swt) informs us that the Prophet (s.a.w.) was kind and merciful to his companions. He declares that if the people who will come until the Day of Resurrection behave like them, Allah will forgive their sins and forgive them.

What is said in the video

I suppose it's been understood. We have come to Surah At-Tawbah, verse 117. Indeed Allah, after the hearts of a group of Muslims were about to swerve — this is at the Battle of Uhud — (?),

forgave the Prophet and the Muhajirun and Ansar who followed him in the time of hardship.

Yes, (?) says: may Allah be pleased with you. Hodja, he says, thank you very much. How nice. We are drawing a short lesson as well.

Then He accepted their repentance. For He, that is, Allah, is very compassionate and merciful toward them.

Toward those who say Allah, toward Muslims, toward believers, Allah Almighty is compassionate and merciful. (?) He has sent one percent of His mercy to the earth. Ninety-nine percent He kept for Himself, to judge His servants. Now in this case, relying on that attribute of mercy of His, will you act spoiled? Relying on that attribute of mercy of His, will you choose to live as you please? Or, relying on that attribute of mercy of His, so as not to tarnish it, will you strive heart and soul to carry out His command?

I choose the third. I always choose the third. I always strive so that Allah's glory is not tarnished. I have the quality of a hodja. If one is a hodja, the hodja of hodjas is Allah Almighty. So as not to tarnish His attribute, I make every effort I can.

Yes.

When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was setting out on the Tabuk campaign, the hypocrites' holding back, when they were permitted to stay behind with those who sat, the hypocrites also, in the army, muddied the air by sowing discord among them.

We (?) Uhud. Uhud is roughly similar to this. After the defeat, with some people's hearts swerving, Allah then gave them peace. Yes. This too: as they set out on the Tabuk campaign, the hypocrites — into the Companions' hearts sowing discord — using words that would mislead them, muddying the air. Does one go on a campaign in this heat? The road is arduous, and the supply of mounts and provisions is lacking — with such words they tried to make the hearts of a group of Muslims swerve.

For a group of Muslims, the hardship of the road and the fatigue of the journey grew large in their eyes. When they were about to lose heart, they came to their senses, and for these feelings passing through their hearts they felt ashamed and repented. Allah Almighty makes this situation known to people, saying: since We know (?) their situations and what passes through their hearts, We accepted their repentance and forgave them, He decrees.

The One who programmed into all the creatures He created what they will do: Allah. The One who programmed the worlds such that there is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment whose doings He does not know: our Lord. Giving people their aims as destiny according to their desires and wishes, Allah Almighty knows second by second what people will do. Yes, and their coming into worldly life: in a realm where Allah Almighty is not seen, so that those who are (?) to our Lord's commands and those who are not, those who obey Him and those who do not, those who stir up their carnal feelings and follow Satan and his tracks, or those who with Allah's verses enjoin the truth, or those who are with the truth, may be told apart and so that they make themselves witnesses to those around, to themselves and to Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty created these worlds.

Allah Almighty, free of deficient attributes, so that no one could question Allah Almighty, (?) people with the most beautiful bodily shell, and gave his spirit, in the outward realm, with an outward body, a visible form. And so, through the deeds people do, with their own characters, their own desires and wishes, their own lives, making themselves witnesses to themselves, to those around and to Allah, so that they have not a single (?) left to say to Allah Almighty — in such a way our Lord magnificently created these worlds. Yes.

Therefore, since Allah Almighty knows very well what passes through people's hearts, through their remorse of this kind, returning to Allah Almighty and repenting, Allah Almighty forgave them. Since such people will continue until the Day of Judgment, how beautifully Allah Almighty declares His verses to people. Since such situations will continue until the Day of Judgment, when a nation goes to war, the hypocrites among them, making the other side look very strong, want the Muslim armies' morale to be broken. Paying no heed to such people's words, Muslims — their wealth and their lives, seizing this opportunity before them, to Allah Almighty in return for the hereafter — count it a prize to sell them.

Who? He buys Paradise with his wealth and his life. The equivalent of the verse. What we talk about is always the equivalent of the verses anyway, always the equivalents of the verses; we cannot go outside them anyway. But some things are also written explicitly. What do we say?

Allah has bought from the believers their wealth and their lives in return for the Paradise to be given to them. According to this verse, Muslims, strengthening their faith and asking Allah for help against the armies of polytheists and disbelievers — if they die, as martyrs, if they live, as ghazis — with this feeling inside, seeking Allah's pleasure, are people who wage jihad, we said. Yes. If we start from further up: since such situations will continue until the Day of Judgment, when a nation goes to war, the hypocrites among them, making the other side look very strong — that is, making the polytheists look very strong — want the Muslim armies' morale to be broken.

Paying no heed to such people's words, Muslims — their wealth and their lives, seizing this opportunity before them, to Allah Almighty in return for the hereafter — count it a prize to sell them. Allah has bought from the believers their wealth and their lives in return for the Paradise to be given to them. According to this verse, Muslims, strengthening their faith and asking Allah for help against the armies of polytheists and disbelievers — if they die, martyrs; if they live, ghazis — in this feeling, seeking Allah's pleasure, are people who want to wage jihad and who go to jihad. These are the Muhajirun and Ansar we call the Companions.

The Muhajirun: people who migrated from Mecca the Honored to Medina the Radiant, after the Hijra — who migrated after it, or people who migrated from home (?) the Hijra. The Ansar were the natives of Medina.

There was even an argument among them like this. When they said that, because Allah Almighty mentioned the Ansar before the Muhajirun, they were superior to them, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: you are not superior to one another, you are brothers to one another. Superiority belongs to Allah alone. Yes. So the Muhajirun and Ansar, whom we call the Companions — to Allah's Messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him), in the hardest times, because of their closeness, their nearness, Allah too forgave their sins. Because Allah Almighty makes known that the Prophet (peace be upon him) too was kind and merciful toward his Companions.

It declares that when people coming until the Day of Judgment act like them, Allah too will forgive such people's sins and pardon them. At the same time, those who wage jihad with their wealth and lives until the Day of Judgment, those who wage jihad with their wealth and lives — their wealth and lives, in return for Paradise, Allah Almighty will buy. What a magnificent thing. It is Allah who created Paradise too. It is Allah who created people too. By giving what He created to its creator, as if bargaining with what He created, the world of peace He created, the (?) abode of bliss, Paradise, all of it, He gives to him.

Yes.
