Mankind consisted of only one nation and then, they went into dispute. If a word (a determination) from your Lord had not come out, a judgment would have been made regarding the matter that they argue about (they would have been punished immediately).
Tafsir
When Allah (swt) willed that His Essence should be known, He created the first human being by giving the light of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) from His light, and then by giving him His spirit. From the soul of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) He created the souls of the Prophets and from the souls of these Prophets He created the souls of their people. In the past, these created people were a single nation created from a single nation until they were exposed to the word of Allah in Kalubala, that is, until they said, "I am your Lord".
When they were addressed (I am your Lord), they were divided into three groups. (Wa kuntum ezwajan selase) the descendants of each other are three classes. These are the rightists, the leftists and the mukârrebun. That is why the people differed because they betrayed Allah in the past and disbelieved in Allah even though they knew that Allah is Allah.
(If there had not been a word from your Lord (about the postponement of the torment), the matter in which they differed would have been decided between them immediately. (The torment would have descended immediately and their deeds would have been finished). (A word has come from me so that you may not say, "O Allah, how would I have worshipped you if you had sent me to a realm where Your Essence is unseen? I will send you to an unseen realm in order to witness for yourselves what kind of a person you are. Upon this promise, Allah sent people to the world where His Essence is unseen. There, according to the covenant made by the people, people will make themselves witnesses against themselves, their surroundings and Allah. Then they will be brought back to Allah to be reckoned for what they have earned with their own two hands. If there had not been an eternal decree from your Lord about the postponement of the punishment, if I had not said it, We would have sent you to the places you deserved while you were still in the state of spirits, and when you were separated, We would have settled your accounts there, Our punishment would have descended upon you, and We would have sent you to the places you deserved.
What is said in the video
Surah Yunus, verse 19. Listen well, use your minds well, your minds, please.
Put the old superstitious knowledge aside.
Let's not say superstitious knowledge; put aside what you knew before. While putting aside what you knew before, use your mind as the judge over it. Use your mind as a judge. Don't put your mind out of action by defending what you know with your nafs.
These are the important points. That is why Allah Almighty calls out to everyone with a mind: Do you never use your minds? Now in the verse, Allah Almighty: people are only one single ummah. Later they fell into division. Had a word from your Lord concerning the postponement of the punishment, an eternal decree, not gone before, on what they fell into division over judgment would at once have been passed between them. At once the punishment would come down and they would be finished.
A very deep verse; I'll explain it in depth. Whether your mind takes it or not. I'll explain it in depth. To our children who listen to me it won't seem deep. To them it won't seem very deep, because they know the essence. But the others may go astray over this too. So let them think it over carefully. As I said a moment ago, with their old knowledge and nafs-driven feelings, let them not see themselves in the right and take a stand against the truth. Let them bring their minds into play. People were only one single ummah. When we say that. We said: Allah Almighty gave what He gave to no one else in the universe, a part of His spirit, to people.
He gave it to people. That part of His spirit — from His light, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) He created. Then He gave him of His spirit.
From the Prophet's spirit He created the peoples of the prophets. And from the peoples of the prophets, from the Prophet's indirect spirit, He created people. Because not all of them come from him. In that case, since the first human created in the universe was the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), we were, coming from him, one single ummah. If we go a bit deeper: since the Prophet is a part of Allah Almighty's essence, when He says each of you is one single ummah, He accepts people as one single ummah, as a part separated from His essence, and does not separate people from His essence.
As (?) says, just as He does not separate (?) from His essence, Allah Almighty, who holds people as addressees of His essence and wants to see man as a mirror in His essence, Allah Almighty, to the Prophet, to whom He gave a part of His essence, and from him his prophets — through the creation of the prophets and their ummahs, indirectly all people were created from their Lord as a part, and were one single ummah. Separated from one single God. Separated from one single God. Created. One single ummah. Yes. But events, events: in this world it's as if we descended from Adam. That is, a situation arose as if we were created from Adam's loins.
And after that we were reduced to the state of one single ummah. When it says one single ummah at the root: from the Prophet, and from there from Allah Almighty, our creation as a part from which we were created — for in the universe only man has a spirit. No other being has a spirit. In that case, since people are created from the Prophet's spirit, created from the spirit of the Prophet and of Allah Almighty, the one single ummah goes all the way back to Allah Almighty. Then the spirit He separated from Himself, the ummahs — one single ummah they were — fell into division. Where? In that world of Lahut.
When they had just been created, while still in the state of spirits, at the Elestü bi-Rabbiküm address, there they split into three. Those of the right, those of the left, and the class of the Muqarrabun. It was one single ummah. Because it had been created from His essence. All the spirits had been created indirectly from the Prophet's spirit. When He said to them "I am your Lord", they fell into division there. So: from our father Adam, the human factory, and our mother Eve — the spirits that would emerge, would emerge — with those who would emerge from the offspring of the children of Adam We made a covenant, He says.
We made a covenant; We said: We are your Lord. So, in those (?), while they were one single ummah, they later fell into division. That is, some said yes, some said no, and some joined the class of the Muqarrabun. Yes. The meaning of one single ummah goes back that far. But look at people's commentaries. One writes it one way, another the other way. They have no idea what they are saying either. In their own minds, with gilded words, with Arabic, they pull people toward kufr where they can't understand. Toward kufr. They cannot explain the truth of the matter. The value given to man, man being the caliph of the earth, and of all creatures in the world his becoming the caliph on earth.
Allah Almighty's — and His saying: You created man in the finest form. In that case, His holding him as addressee of His essence, because of the spirit He gave him; in this case too, man, separated from one single ummah, from one single God, created from the spirit of one single Prophet — the ummahs go back to the root, all the way there, to Allah Almighty. in that case. People were only one single ummah, it says. Yes. Later they fell into division. That is, at that address of Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, when He said to you "I am your Lord", they fell into division. Had a word from your Lord concerning the postponement of the punishment, an eternal decree, not gone before — to make you witnesses over yourselves, Allah Almighty, to be freed from being ascribed attributes: "Had You sent us to a world where Your essence is not seen, we would have worshipped You there" — lest you say this, We sent you to a hidden world. Otherwise We would have settled your account there, He says.
We would have settled it there. So, for you to make yourselves witnesses to yourselves, to those around and to Allah Almighty, We sent you to a hidden world, the earthly world, a world where My essence is not seen, the earthly world, He says. To the earthly world. And so that you could emerge from here, from the loins of our father Adam and from that human factory, the spirits He created in (?) He sends to the earth according to their covenants when their time comes, and they make themselves witnesses to themselves, to those around them and to Allah, and having thus proven what kind of people they are, they complete their term and pass on to the hereafter.
So in the verse too: Did you think you would die without proving what kind of people you are? it says. Yes. Is it understood? Alhamdulillah, Hodja. What does this mean? Yes. Not as written in other books, my child. But since we wrote here for the general public, we wrote it in a limited way for the public. We wrote it as far as possible according to the general public's understanding. We said: people in the beginning were only one single ummah. When Allah Almighty willed that His essence be known, from His light — the light of the Prophet (peace be upon him), then by giving him of His spirit, He created the first human, we say. This being separated from our Lord, and in fact from the one single being, Allah, separated from God, the one single being, separated from our Lord, and then by descending from Him ummahs coming into being, when He says one single ummah — here by building up the Prophet, and from there by pointing to His essence. By pointing.
Yes. Then by giving him of His spirit He created the first human. From the spirit of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) He created the prophets' spirits, and from these prophets' spirits the spirits of their peoples. So these people created in the beginning, until they were honoured with Allah's word at Kalû Belâ, that is, until He said "I am your Lord", created from one single ummah, they were single ummahs.
We explained this to you. We said: At Kalû Belâ, in that world of spirits, created from the Prophet's spirit, the prophets, and created from their spirits, the people of their peoples — all of them created in the world of Lahut — until He said "I am your Lord", were one single ummah. That is, all coming from the Prophet, and all with equal measure, created with equal ideas, free in their own will, at the root face to face with their Lord, since they were one single ummah, since they were created from Him — created as beings. Created as the noblest of creatures. So, the spirits of the prophets, as you say, and from the prophets' spirits His creating the spirits of the peoples — so these people created in the beginning, until at Kalû Belâ they were honoured with Allah's word, that is, until He said "I am your Lord", were one single ummah.
They were single ummahs created from one single ummah. Pay close attention to the word. Created from one single ummah, that is, created from the Prophet (peace be upon him) — all created beings are Allah's ummahs, aren't they; but since the one single ummah first created is the Prophet, they were, created from one single ummah, single ummahs. Ummah singular, ummahs plural — pay attention here. They are not created from the prophets' loins or their spirits. Not created from the spirits of their loins. Later they fell into division. When they were honoured with the address "I am your Lord", they split into three groups.
Ve küntüm ezvâcen selâseh. The generations coming from one another are three classes. These are those of the right, those of the left, and the class of the Muqarrabun. So because people in the beginning betrayed Allah, though they knew that Allah is Allah, they denied Allah, and so fell into division. Whereas, while the real root is here — the root, as I said a moment ago — those at the top (?).
Responsible persons in religion, people with a voice, in the Holy Quran are responsible for the wrongly interpreted verses.
Until now, because they didn't know, according to the verse that deeds depend on intention,
they are innocent. But now they are hearing it. Or they will hear it. They will hear it. From the moment they hear it, their responsibility begins. Their responsibility begins.
Either, acting from the nafs, they will oppose the truth. Or, using their minds, they will enter the path of the Truth. If this person, the person saying this, is on the wrong path against the Truth, then, so as not to announce it to the world, they will call this man and direct him to the Truth. That is their duty. If they don't do this, silence is consent. It means they accept what he says. But to keep their positions, or because they can't make sense of this knowledge, to call this man and again ask him "why do you say it like this?" or "will you explain to us its origin?" — they are obliged to, so as to be freed from responsibility before Allah.
To be freed from their responsibility toward Allah.
We call out from here too. One: taking individual will away from people and pinning it on Allah. Pinning it on Allah. Allah does this, Allah does that. Then why did I come into the world? (?) the good we will do and (?) the evil we will do, within my will — don't they become harm and sin for me? How can you say Allah puts whomever He wills into Paradise, whomever He wills into Hell? Well, there is not a single living being to come until the Hour whose doings We do not know — according to that verse. How can you say: perhaps Allah will forgive you? In that case, how can you say a person — that parents make their child a Magian or a Christian, or make him a Muslim?
It does away with the covenant at the address of Elestü bi-Rabbiküm. You make Allah Almighty out to be without knowledge of the future: by the actions people do, that Allah evaluates people according to their situation, according to what they do — you put that forward. How can you, making Allah unjust, say He created people and jinn for Hell? You bring words unbefitting Allah's glory into the Holy Quran.
So those who hold these responsible positions, who say "I am the head of Islam" and pass over these in silence — in Allah's sight don't they bear responsibility? Don't they feel responsible?
Written since old times, for 150–170 years entering (?) the Quran, that is, into the translations of the verses — into the verses they can't get. Because its protector is Allah Almighty. Into the translations, by insertions, with these fabrications, by pulling the Holy Quran up to now underhandedly like this toward the knowledge of Jews and Christians, by ascribing attributes to Allah, by removing the glory of Allah and the Messenger, (?) everything by compulsion, in that case, with fabrications of this kind, by adapting the Holy Quran, written in old times, to people of our time who (?), like this — don't you become responsible?
Hasn't the time come for the Holy Quran to be written in a new way? Hasn't it come yet?
Please let those at the top think about this. If they don't hear it — when they do hear it, let them listen to me well. Let them listen to me. Our request to them: a Muslim is a Muslim's brother. Perhaps sovereignty, in Allah's sight, is between a person and Himself. Perhaps sovereignty too. On earth, people — Allah Almighty, be it (?), be it an assembly, without distinguishing believer or unbeliever, treats all of you equally. My mercy is for everyone in the universe, He says. So if we are brothers in Islam, here there is no rank, sovereignty or office. Here it is about warning people for Allah's sake.
For Allah's sake, entering Allah's path, with the feeling of keeping Islam alive as Islam, turning people to the Truth.
In that case: the wrong to the right — those going wrong, by warning them, to the right, and those saying wrong things, by warning them, to lead them to the right. The best of you are those who teach one another, warn one another, help one another, says the Prophet. In his hadiths. The best of you, he says. If we too run responsible positions, if in those places we exercise our rule, if we seek the good, isn't warning one another of the good our duty? Isn't helping one another our duty? According to the hadith. In that case, think well, think well: the time for the Holy Quran to be written anew has come, it is passing.
In that case, those at the top are in a responsible position. If you do not warn the hodjas who know it this way, their responsibility too you load onto your back. Yes. Inshallah Allah will include us, on the path of truth, on the straight path, among His servants who take the truth where they see it. Yes.
So in (?), people unaware of these verses, people unaware of these meanings, who come into the world, derive it from the loins of our father Adam and tie it to their splitting, in the world, into right and left — where are they? And where is it that, by the covenant at the original root, man cannot leave his nature and will act according to that nature?
Later they fell into division; when they were honoured with the address "I am your Lord" they split into three groups. Into three groups. Ve küntüm ezvâcen selâseh — the generations coming from one another are three classes. Fe ashâbü'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbü'l-meymeneh — O those of the right, glad tidings to you. Ve ashâbü'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbü'l-meş'emeh — O those of the left, woe to you. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn, ülâike'l-mukarrabûn, fî cennâti'n-naîm — of which He speaks: the saints, the prophets, the martyrs and the witnesses, all together. So people fell into division because in the beginning they betrayed Allah — though they knew that Allah is Allah, they denied Allah.
Way back in (?). We said: people's destinies — in the world of Lahut, when Allah Almighty said "I am your Lord" — the covenants people gave to Allah Almighty, their wishes and desires, their aims, Allah Almighty writes for them as destiny when they made the covenant. Allah Almighty writes it for them as destiny; people had those destinies written there as a script. The scripts were written. The actors play them in the (?) world. He will make himself a witness to himself, to those around, and to Allah Almighty.
Because Allah created us very close to His essence, and with the forms of His essence, with His true form, He made a covenant with people there. With His true form. So because people saw Allah as like themselves, they could not recognise Him as Lord. They waited for the Lord of their imagination. So Allah Almighty too says they will not be able to see their Lord. Because there is no such Lord as the one in their imagination. There is no god other than Allah for them to see as Allah. So how beautifully "one single ummah in the beginning" comes out here. Yes.
Had a word from your Lord concerning the postponement of the punishment, an eternal decree, not come, not gone before, judgment would at once have been passed between them on what they fell into division over. At once the punishment would come down and they would be finished.
That is,
if people, in the world of Lahut, when they were created — that address of our Lord, Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, that part is very good. When He said "I am your Lord", "I am" — if people Allah Almighty's — well — when they denied Allah Almighty, had Allah Almighty at once given them His punishment, Allah Almighty would have been ascribed attributes. Why would He have been ascribed attributes? This too seems deep to people, but it isn't, it isn't deep. Because they don't put it to their minds — they say Allah is invisible, don't they; well, if Allah is invisible, then with an invisible being did people make a covenant?
You know, the man He gave of His spirit — the holy spirit, Allah Almighty — do they write it as Gabriel? It's written so, but is it Gabriel? No. We open these up with verses. That the holy spirit is Allah Almighty. This goes much deeper still, but we don't really want to go there with you. Those parts blow minds. Yes. Though those who use their minds can grasp those parts, but of course that needs a certain time too. Now, in this case, in this case, if people are a part of Allah Almighty's essence, the part makes a covenant with its whole. Where? At the address of Elestü bi-Rabbiküm. Well, is Allah lying?
Far from it, Allah forbid. We made a covenant, He says, with those who from the offspring of Adam's children would emerge, He says. And since they can't understand that part anyway, of His taking them out of the loins of the children of Adam — in this world? in the hereafter? or in the womb? — saying this, in limbo, unaware, he writes according to his own mind, just like that. Well, in that case, if people made a covenant, if they made a covenant with Allah Almighty, then in that case, if Allah Almighty had at once, those people, those who didn't recognise His essence there, destroyed, sent to Hell, He would have been ascribed attributes.
So this attribute here is the important thing. Why would He have been ascribed attributes? No. The one before you is like you. That is, like a human. Like a human. He says: I am your Lord. Can you easily accept this? Can you accept this? Allah Almighty gives us time. And beside Him is the Prophet (peace be upon him). Yes, there is a confirmer, a confirmer, saying this is our Lord. The Prophet. In that case, that is the people's falling into division. Because of their falling into division, Allah Almighty, again out of His mercy, to remove from Himself that being ascribed attributes — "O my Lord, my Lord, You sent me here, but how was I to know that You were my Lord? You were like me. Had You sent me to a world where Your essence is not seen, I would have worshipped You there" — so that you would not say this, He sent you to these worlds; so the script was written, destinies and characters were given; here, according to (?), your own nature emerges: if you're an apple, an apple; if a lemon, a lemon; if a pear, a pear; whatever seed you come from, your nature accordingly, you use your will accordingly, you give your judgment.
According to your judgment, Allah Almighty creates actual events. And by acting within those actual events, you prove what kind of person you are.
Yes. So here Allah Almighty is freed from being ascribed attributes. All responsibility falls on man's back. So this is the arena of challenge, the earthly world. The worlds were closed to us. Those worlds are in us. Those worlds are in our brain. Our spirit knows those worlds. But we came to a hidden world. We came to a world where your Lord is not seen. Here, here: when you don't want a text written on a computer to be seen by anyone, a password is set. So it was closed with those passwords. What passwords are these? Not a password made of the digits of Ahmet's (?). By breaking the whim of the nafs, by remembering your Lord, and by striking back the way you came.
To the world of Malakut, the world of Jabarut, and the world of Lahut where you were first created. Striking back toward there, you break out and see those places. If you reform that nafs of yours. And when else do you see them? And also... when the soul reaches the throat... Bring it back then, He says.
... The relatives gather at his bedside, waiting for his soul to leave, He says. In power, are you nearer to him, or We? He says. So when the door of repentance closes, those worlds are shown to him. But the door of repentance has closed.
Then that person says: send me back once more. See how I will worship You. Allah Almighty says: even if We sent you back not once but several times, you would do the same thing again. Why? Because those characters are in you. As long as those characters are in you, wherever you go, again with the same characters, carrying out actual deeds, you'll prove yourself in the same way. In that case, while living in this earthly world from which there is no coming back, while the treasure of life is a treasure for us — people seeing the truth and understanding it — those who don't bow their necks to the truth and out of their nafs grow proud and try to spread (?) over the truth — those who fall into a pitiful state — Allah Almighty having made this world a field for the hereafter, people who turn the hereafter into ruin — can you imagine their state?
By leaning toward a transient world, people turn the hereafter, the eternal abode of bliss, into torment.
So it means: people — "My Allah, me to a world where Your essence is not seen I will send. Look how I would have worshipped You" — lest you say this, a word went forth from Me, He says.
To make you witness to yourselves what kind of people you are, I will send you to a hidden world. That is, I will send you to a world where His essence is not seen. So, on this word of His, Allah Almighty sent people to the earthly world where His essence is not seen. There, according to the covenant people gave, people make themselves witnesses to themselves, to those around them and to Allah. Then, to be called to account for what each has earned with his own two hands, they are returned to Allah again. According to the verse in which He says every soul shall taste death and your return is to Me, everyone is returned to Allah again.
Had a word from your Lord concerning the postponement of the punishment, an eternal decree, not gone before, had I not said this word — while you were still in the (?) state, when you fell into division, We would have closed your account there, Our punishment would have come down upon you, to the places you deserve He would have sent you, He decrees.
Isn't this the essence of the matter? Where now is this coming from Adam, people's moves by their own minds, their splitting? Write and write, make it up and make it up. Write and write. There is no truth in it. No one knows these. No one knows the origin of the verses. And then this man is explaining something. What is he explaining? Once, on Boztepe Television in Ordu, a religious talk is going on. A religious talk.
There is a hodja there; I won't say his name. They ask questions.
They say — one of the women asks. And we're watching from there.
What is the state of the spirits, she says. That is, are they aware of events in the world, she says.
The hodja repeats, exactly like a parrot, the words he memorised. From whom did he memorise them? From Hatipoğlu. He memorised them. They're even aware of the cat at home, he says. Man, I now call out to Hatipoğlu too from here.
(?) who know about the cat at home — into which verse of Allah Almighty did you fit this and say it? Into which verse? But I will now prove to you that there is no such verse at all. If the spirits had been aware of the cat at home — you, He says, when We resurrect you in the hereafter, when We resurrect you, will ask each other: how long under the ground did we lie? Some of you will say a day, and the wisest of you: we lay less than a day, He says. Ask the noble angels on duty who keep count of how long you lay under the ground, He says. How blessed. So how would he know here about the cat at home?
How would he know?
So we call in on the phone. Once the man has explained, of course. We say: Hodja, the truth of this is not like that. Well, how then? Now supposedly he sees us as an outsider. And he tries to listen, (?); we — the creation of the spirits in the world of Lahut, Allah Almighty's address to them, then everyone's script, their covenant, being written as destiny, their being raised to the barzakh, then their coming into the world, and after filling their lifespan in the world and passing to the hereafter, their being raised to the barzakh, a world from which there is no return, and that they will stay there until the Hour; that, except for spirits that gain power, the rest are unaware of the world — unaware, I mean — and that under the ground (?) a day, we say, or less than a day, they will remember lying — how would people be aware of their cat at home? The men were astonished.
They say exactly this — those people are witnesses — a knowledge we didn't know, he says. A knowledge we didn't know. Oh, we didn't even ask the hodja's name, he says.
I called again. I am the Asr-ı Saadet scholar of the Holy Quran, who wrote its tafsir, Metin Saruhan, I said. And I hung up the phone. Yes.
Man is not to be a parrot. He is to use his mind. His mind. He is to see the truth, take the truth, become a spring. A spring, a spring — that spring is pure, water, clean; it purifies the dirt in itself. Because it's a spring; it gushes from that spring, spotless; it doesn't come through a filter. So man, seeing the truth — when he sees the truth he becomes a spring, that is, by the verses he is ruled; the foreign ideas coming to him from outside strike against those verses and he finds the truth. He sees the truth. That's why man is to be a person of truth.
And not a satellite.
To make you witness to yourselves what kind of people you are, He will send you to a hidden world. So, upon this word, Allah Almighty sent people, where His essence is not seen, to the earthly world. There, according to the covenant people gave, people made themselves witnesses to themselves, to those around them and to Allah. Then, to be called to account for what each has earned with his own two hands, they are returned to Allah again. Had a word from your Lord concerning the postponement of the punishment, an eternal decree, not gone before, had I not said this word — while you were still in the state of spirits, when you fell into division, We would have closed your account there, Our punishment would have come down upon you, to the places you deserve We would have sent you, He decrees.
