Translation

Now, leave them in their deviance (and ignorance) for a while.

Tafsir

So O my Messenger! You leave them, those disbelievers, alone in their heedlessness and error until a time, that is, until the time of life that Allah has given to every human being.

Because these are the people who have heard the truth, who have seen the right path, and yet they have not turned towards the truth. These are the people who rebelled against Allah, who betrayed Allah in the past, in Kalu Bela. So We have sent people to this world in a realm of the unseen, so that each soul may bear witness to Allah with its deeds in accordance with the covenant it has made with Him. So leave them in their denial and deviation, in the sleep of heedlessness in which they have fallen. They will not wake up from this sleep. Because their destiny, and the destiny of those who are destined for it, will never change.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 54, we have come to it.

Now: Leave them for a time in their heedlessness, with their misguidance, to themselves, He says.

Now here, outward and inward, some meanings there are. Now: Leave them for a time in their heedlessness, with their misguidance, to themselves. People may understand it like this: Don't you interfere with them, let them do whatever they do — in that sense, as if enjoining good, as if Allah Almighty had sent the Quran to the worlds, so, to us, since the exact Arabic wording here has not been opened up, its meaning: when you enjoin good, when the truth to people you convey, these continue in their misguidance, and if they try to spread falsehood over the truth against you, what does it say? Now: Leave them for a time in their heedlessness, with their misguidance, to themselves.

For a time. What does it mean? Its meaning is: for a time. Since, while these continue in their misguidance, some among them will return to Islam, look, He does not say: abandon them. Look at the beautiful wording of the verse. He does not say: abandon them, turn your back on them and walk away. What does He say? Leave them for a time in their heedlessness, with their misguidance, to themselves. Then among them a person will come to his senses; truly, other than our Lord, the Owner of the worlds, he will know there is no door to take refuge at. And for the misguided things he did he will feel remorse and from Allah Almighty forgiveness he will ask; he will repent and seek forgiveness.

So: For a time, leave them in their heedlessness, with their misguidance, to themselves. Heedlessness and misguidance. Now, since in this case He does not abandon them, how magnificently the wording conveys the verse to us. Yes. So, O My Beloved, leave them, those deniers, for a time — that is, until the span of life Allah Almighty gives to every person — these, within the scope they are in, with their misguidance, to themselves. Indeed, "for a time" also carries this meaning. As long as they continue in those misguidances during their lives — conveying the truth and they still continue in those misguidances — since no one can change anyone's destiny, then do not try to argue with them.

After conveying the truth — and you will convey the truth whenever you find the chance. Leave them in their misguidance for a time, He says. Because these are people who, although they hear the truth and see the right path, still to the truth have not turned. These are the people who in pre-eternity, at Qalu Bala, rebelled against Allah and betrayed Allah. So We, in an unseen world to which We sent people — so that each soul, through the deeds it does according to the covenant it gave, makes itself bear witness before Allah — We sent them to the world. So, in their denials and misguidance, in the heedlessness they have sunk into, the sleep — leave them there. Nor will they wake from this sleep.

Because their wishes, and those for whom these wishes became their destiny — their destinies will not change again, He says. Yes.

Because their wishes, and the destinies of those for whom these wishes became their destiny, will not change again. Now here, all within the verse, that is, within the sentence, the sentences need to be opened up. If we were to open them all, if we were to open all these sentences, believe me, camel-loads of books would be written. Really, believe this. For example, this last thing I wrote: because their wishes, and those for whom these wishes became their destiny — their destinies will not change again. So, that is, these people, at the covenant of Alastu bi-Rabbikum, when with Allah Almighty they made a covenant, whatever wishes they had were given to them as destiny.

In that case, when they come into the world, they may be in misguidance. Since in the end they will turn to the truth within their destiny — within their destiny, since their wishes became their destiny, since the destinies of those so destined will not change again, since among them too there are those who will return to the truth, since these destinies will not change either, since from within these misguidances there will also be those who return, since destinies will not change — during their lives we are tasked only with conveying to them, making the truth heard, enjoining good. Beyond that we cannot compel anyone.

Because we are not the ones who change anyone's destiny. Yes.
