Do they think that with the possessions and children that We gave to them.
Tafsir
Those who disbelieve in Allah and the Hereafter, those who say that Allah is three, those who associate partners with Allah, do they think that having sons and children, possessions and property is good for them? But wealth and possessions are a mischief for them. They cannot comprehend. Because to see the blessings of Allah and to worship Him, to forget Allah, is an injustice to one's soul.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 55. Do they think that with the wealth and children with which We aid them? See how beautiful: here He cuts this verse off, then the rest will follow. Now there are some people — what do they say? If there is anyone who will enter Paradise, it is me. Why? I have wealth and I have children too, he says. If their wealth and children and family had been of use to them — on that Day of Judgment, on that Day of Gathering when every person cries "myself, myself", on a day when no mother remembers her child, nor father his child, that they would want to give a ransom not of one world's fill but of two worlds' fill to be saved — if only they knew. If only they knew that no ransom will be accepted from them either.
Would these then boast in this world of their children and families, of their possessions? Yes. So: Do they think that the wealth and children with which We aid them? That is, with which them We aid. What is imdat? It is the call of a person stuck in a difficult situation. It is a call for help to come to him. Man on his own is helpless. But when there is a support, they more or less strengthen one another. So Allah Almighty, by giving people children and family — so that they serve them in old age. So that they serve that father. So that they serve that mother. And so that his children who come after him, by serving him too, in the world hardship do not suffer. So, He says, with the wealth and children We aid them — with wealth and children — We gave wealth too, He says.
We give wealth too. What does this mean? People who deny Allah and the hereafter, those who say Allah (?), those who associate partners with Allah — by having children and family, by being granted wealth and property, do they think it is a good and a (?) for them? Whereas this wealth and family are a trial for them. They cannot grasp this. Because seeing the blessings Allah gives and worshipping them, forgetting Allah, is a person's wrong against his own soul.
Yes.
